It's also the fact that France introduced new stricter restrictions on travel on the very day they would have travelled (as the restrictions would have started at 11PM in the UK), and those restrictions would have been announced
A) they could have scrapped the plans to go, the two can clearly afford a fair amount of luxury as it is but also the tickets/bookings could have been sold to someone else
B) they may have very well (and I honestly think it's likely) made the decision to go after those restrictions were announced - there's an article that said a lot of people actually bought tickets to go to France after that announcement

Also, it's not like Eve has shown any responsibility in wearing a mask and it's clear that she has been travelling during the last lockdown. She, and I suppose her gf, has a pattern of behaviour of ignoring restrictions

they obviously didn’t book after the restrictions came out if she was posting about it like 3 weeks ago.

and she has posted with her mask on in videos and pictures, and posted when she got her vaccine (telling people to get theirs). i wouldn’t say she completely disregards the rule from a maskless picture when we don’t know if there’s strangers around her (i sure as hell take mine off to catch my breath if there’s no one near me).

I mean, I shouldn't be surprised by anyone promoting Notion anymore, it seems to be the new Skillshare, but I find it utterly ridiculous for Eve to pretend she has a thousand notebooks and just discovered the magic of a digital space thanks to Notion. She just talked about having everything in a Google Drive for years and years. I still enjoyed her video more than any one else's, since it has a narrative and is well crafted and she wasn't as obnoxious about the whole thing as Rubarb or Shady. But gosh, I wish Notion would just go away. (Of course, no offense to anyone using it. But their marketing actually turns me off.)

I always thought the clear coffee cups were the kind of plastic that get really scratched up quickly and then look bad. The hoodies looked good, but again are only really those gildan type hoodies that anyone can add a logo to. I wonder what happened to the coffee.

I know, I found it amusing that she made out like it had been such hard work launching that merch but it's just off the shelf stuff, she's not invented some revolutionary new material or anything.

It did make me wonder about her idea of what constitutes hard work if getting your logo printed on a hoodie counts as a major achievement taking several months of effort.

I was thinking the same. Just because you work at a tech company in whatever position, you're not automatically a "woman in STEM/tech". But I guess it sounds cool

And this is coming from an actual STEM student, working as a technical project manager intern at an engineering and technology company. PM is not really "tech"

ADHD isn't a mental illness, it's a neurodevelopmental disorder. Your English is fine! I agree with you 100% on your other points, a lot of people loosely throw around ADHD even if they don't actually have it, which is contributing to the stereotypes around it
People can be "high-functioning" and still have ADHD. They can get good grades and still have it. Jessica McCabe, an ADHDer who runs the youtube channel How to ADHD is a good example of this - she did a TEDx talk.

Yep! This is important to note, and it affects everyone differently. I have ADHD and I did fine at school and uni, but my biggest issues are hyperfixating & impulsive behaviour related to that, and then the anxiety caused by those hyperfixations because I often fixate on something and can't do anything else so I worry that I'm missing something.

Yup most notice periods are a few months, meaning when Eve qualified in Sept she likely handed in her notice within a few weeks. It’s so wrong that she took a qualification place from someone else.

I wonder when going to stop using “Lawyer” in all her bios. SRA can pull her up for that considering she’s not practicing anymore

I wonder if her notice period was reduced down quite considerably given she's still working for LL. I reckon it probably was

I remember that video. She seemed so proud about that task when it was such a bulls*it thing to do for someone with a law degree.

Did anyone else notice how her attitude towards Linklaters has changed? She used to praise the company in every video. In her recent video, she said that there was only one department she could imagine working in and that she was thinking about applying elsewhere. Those 2 years must have been horrible then... This would also explain why she has never completed her "law diary" series.

the thing is with these big magic circle firms is for the most part you’re a very small cog in a big wheel, you dont get to go the interesting and exciting tasks and you’re often doing the grunt work. You don’t actually get good training. I reckon she really struggled with the intense corporate lifestyle of Linklaters, she obviously didn’t enjoy her training contract, it wouldn’t surprise me if she qualifies and then moves firm shortly after

I was just watching eve’s video with her friends talking about Bristol and at what point she talks about what other unis she applied to. Considering she didn’t do very well in her a-levels, she was very confident in applying to very good universities like durham or kings college… just though that was interesting.

Out of curiosity what is the standard path of someone that gets a training contract in law? Is it you qualify and just stay at the firm?

If you train in accounting at the big 4, the point about someone leaving within 4 months of qualifying is not out of the ordinary, in fact more leave in the first year of qualifying than stay.

Normally NQ jobs start being discussed/coming up for application a few months before qualification. In a big firm trainees will apply for vacancies in the team they want to qualify into or start looking at other firms (assuming they want to stay in the law). Once they start as an NQ, standard notice periods are three months (unless negotiated down).
