I don’t want to come across like I am large phobic. I was morbidly obese this time last year, I’ve worked hard to lose over 4st this year and I am still 1st overweight and I haven’t even gotten in the saddle yet, however desperate I am.
There is one thing riding riding whilst overweight but also getting a horse to jump whilst carrying you and 2st worth of tack, over a fence, however small, and not confident so whipping, spurring and flapping…well, you are putting your own happiness before your horses, to me. Get yourself to the doctors, get yourself a gym instructor and get yourself a better riding instructor to get you and your horse in better shape.
yes there are physical illnesses and mental illnesses that cause weight issues, but the least you can do is not jump your horse.
get lunge lessons so you don’t balance on your hands, get your horse and yourself fitter and healthier. If you cannot lose weight due to your medication/condition, at least get your horse fit and not jump it.
there.
I said it.
I’m donning a tin hat.
