Thoughts on Emily selling Lola??
I think it was the right decision. She wasn’t going to take Emily further and although Emily has done well with her, she is more suited to someone who wants to do low level dressage. I absolutely love her new girl and am looking forward to seeing them progress.

i agree on the ray bit. i think the cob can hold her ok but it’d be far more acceptable if she was a quieter, more sympathetic rider rather than just yanking at its mouth - i almost think in a way that makes her seem heavier? i can’t explain it lol

also just seen her story of geoff B riding at your horse
now i’m a dressage rider so maybe i’m pickier but WHY can’t he keep his hands in one position 😭 they move up and down with him
i know i shouldn’t be slating an olympian but still😭
I thought his too. His torso was so stiff and he was steadying himself and balancing with his hands. Looked weird.

Does anyone have any inside intel on Rebecca Kingswood’s missing horse, the chestnut think he’s called Rio. There’s something that just doesn’t seem to add up about the whole situation.
Seen loads of posts saying he was on sales livery with someone. That someone sold him and has got off with the money. So if say it’s the money that’s been stolen rather than the horse?

Not 100% sure how it would work. But something has been stolen whether it the money that’s not been handed over or the horse wasn’t supposed to be sold.

Well, I guess if the money wasn’t handed over then technically the horse has been stolen as he hasn’t been paid for? 🤷🏻‍♀️

The new owner will of given the money to the man who had him on sales livery. So the horse was paid for and the man had got off with the money. Wouldn’t that mean it’s the money that’s been stolen and not the horse? I have no clue tbh

Only catching up on Ray the goths reel now and I can’t understand why anyone would be happy with that video and post it?? She balances off her hands and peppers mouth so much that it’s like she’s sawing in order to keep her trot up, if that makes sense? Her hands and leg are working counterintuitively the way she’s riding. Like so many have posted here, learning the basics properly would benefit her much more than trying to jump and show etc!

when my core was weak after an accident and not riding for a while I felt like my hands weren’t my own, they had no softness to them and I was lifting them and pulling because I couldn’t balance myself, it didn’t take long togo back to normal but that’s what Rays video looks like she’s doing.

there’s so much controversy over weight while riding and I see why, I’d never large shame anybody and I like that she has the courage to put herself out there but like others I would question what’s best for the horse. The horse is overweight which makes her look ‘stronger’ but in fact she’s probably weaker because of her own extra weight she’s carrying. Didn’t she have some problems with stiffness in her hind end lately? I don’t want to be nasty at all but I would be looking at her joints while jumping purely because her rider isn’t balanced. I’m sure we’ve all been over jumped and landed like a sack of spuds in the saddle, I deffo have but wear and tear on those joints will catch up to her if it’s constant.

my friend is a bit smaller than Ray but her mare has been jumping years and she’s cutting back now because it’s going to eventually have an impact on her joints and as the mare gets older she wants her to be happy and comfortable rather than just competing because her rider loves it!

pepper does seem a lovely honest horse but I would be worried she’s learning bad habits or she’ll turn sour if she’s unhappy. Like someone else said, riding forward does not mean she’s happy! I remember reading a show post where she had countless refusals and I would take that as a sign to go back to the drawing board and maybe we aren’t ready for those kinds of days? That video where she jumped the grid - that was just really bad riding. Sometimes you have to put what you want to do aside and do what’s best for your horse like absolutely nail your flatwork, both of ye get fit and balanced and then go jumping. I’d honestly be questioning her trainers credibility at this point.

Does anyone have any recommendations on who to follow? Preferably people bringing on young horses as I’d love some inspo!!

@Gossipgurlll5 the only ones I tend to follow are Holly Lenehan (she is a great rider) and produces her homebred horses. She is also a vet currently in Australia and is bringing on an ex racer. Emily Dunstan (emd eventing) has just got a 4yr old so I’m looking forward to seeing how they get on and then Megan Elphick has a few youngsters.
Hackett Equine is VERY good and also does podcasts that you can listen to whilst riding. She is very knowledgeable about horse behaviour and currently has one of Olivia Towers youngster in for backing. So I highly recommend her.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on ‘life on the yard’ Georgie Hannay
I've followed her for a long time. I can't figure out how she makes her money (or at least, couldn't before this yard and photography venture) - a couple of years ago she was divorced, living in a massive cottage in the countryside with her daughter and two horses/ponies and no real talk about any career.

The new photography/yard venture looks great and I hope it goes well for her. It's the kind of thing I dreamed about doing as a kid - I was mad on both horses and photographing them! I can't comment on her riding because I don't ride myself any more and haven't for a long time.

What do you make of Sophie Seymour ?
I like her..she isn't up herself and does seem to genuinely have a talent for tricky horses. She also doesn't come across 'beggy' on any of her posts. I do sometimes think she is a little too sensitive to things on social media though and she has had some rotten luck in the last year or so 🤨

Ray the Goth saying on her Instagram that everyone knows her horse is happy and wants for nothing. Yeah Ray except a strict diet. Actually breaks my heart looking at how overweight Pepper is. I had to unfollow her because Rays weight hasn’t gone down and Peppers crest has gotten huge.

The fact she thinks this is a glow up is heart breaking. Far more happy looking in the top pics

I really love Lauren Allport (she used to be eddiesgun91). She's not so much an 'influencer' in that she doesn't do ads and brand collabs etc but she has a YT channel. She has amazing horses, used to live in Dubai and do trick riding, lots of liberty etc. Now she's in France and is building a business as an equine chiropractor and producing and bringing on young horses.
EquiAlly is another one I like, her and Lauren are friends.
