I’m curious as to how many people on here have had the vaccine or will get the vaccine? No judgement here if anyone has chosen not to have it, your body your choice. I’ve had one of my vaccines but not second one.

Why would you not get the vaccine?
51.2% of the world population has received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. 7.34 billion doses have been administered globally.

And you'll find plenty of judgement here from me by not having the vaccine someone endangers me and everyone I care about. Aside from the risk of spreading this virus further that person could easily end up denying me the healthcare resources I or someone else may need for something unrelated to COVID. What right does someone have to pass a virus on to someone who may be immunocompromised when that risk could be massively reduced by accepting a safe and effective vaccine? We are exceptionally privileged here to have access to the jab long before others what possible reason could someone have to choose not to do this?

What’s everyone opinions on the nhs and dental nurses being forced to get the vaccine?

Not being forced, they're more than welcome to look for work elsewhere. People who go to their dentist are entitled to a safe environment (along with everyone else who works there). Would you appreciate someone putting their fingers in your mouth knowing they don't really care if they pass on a virus to you? How about someone caring for your elderly parent who's just had an operation and is immunocompromised due to an existing illness, would you want someone administering drugs who was so misguided as to take lessons from Facebook while having a shit?

So many? How many? Are they refusing or are they just hesitant. We've been given the carrot and that didn't work so naturally it's time for the stick. What we're seeing across the world is that the moment people realise their lives will be much more inconvenienced if they continue to choose to remain unvaxxed they are more likely to get the jab. Once you tell them that they can't work if they remain a danger to their coworkers very very few stay unvaccinated.
Of course you'll get a small number of hold outs these are people who are likely not the shining lights of any organisation and they generally won't be missed. You'll have protests made up of mainly people who don't work there. People like Ellie and her ilk who have nothing better to do.

To be honest I would love to see status checks for every restaurant, cinema, bus, train and plane. Either fully jabbed or professionally administered PCR negative result within the previous 36 hours (paid for by the antivaxer).

There are professional registers so that doctors/nurses/allied health professionals can be held accountable for their actions.

Whilst it may be invasive- There’s a lot more skill involved in vaginal examination than any of the unqualified fuckwits who support free birthing appreciate. I’m not a midwife, but my job is inextricably linked to midwifery & I'm sure that reviews of clinical practice would have outlawed the practice, if it wasn’t a useful diagnostic.

Without vaginal examination, I wonder how many cord prolapses (a clinical emergency) would be missed, or undiagnosed breech presentation?

I had a call from the emergency bed service a few weeks ago near the end of my night shift to say that a lady was on her way in by ambulance- 24 weeks and ‘pushing’. That meant assembling a team in a hurry to go down to A&E, where she was about to arrive (not an ideal place to deliver a 24 weeker) & calling the consultant in- they attend all extreme preterm deliveries.
The team got there & on examination, the lady’s OS was closed- no dilation, not in established labour.

Imagine if they hadn’t examined her. I was left with one junior doctor for the entire NICU, whilst everyone else was a few floors down. Was the rest of the team supposed to hang out in A&E for hours until it became apparent she wasn’t going to deliver imminently?
Anyhoo, she actually delivered a few days later. Just as well she was examined so decisions could be made about her management, eh?

She first boycotted Tesco at the beginning of the pandemic when they enforced mask wearing. Her argument was that if everyone kept going with it then they would lose so much money that they would be forced to rescind their mask policy (awkward how that turned out).
Over the last 18 months Ellie has consistently virtue signaled about supporting small businesses and yet continues to shop at Tescos (presumably for Cocopops).
Shes put up pictures of her shopping in Tescos (buying smoothies), arguing with Managers (and winning of course), and now this.

Its also worth noting that she has confirmed she is exempt (during her brief professional car crash with Mr Fry), so she is deliberately lying to prove a point, when I imagine if she was refused entry (on the unlikely assumption that her story is true) then she would cry blue murder about being discriminated against (also worth keeping hold of this is case she does complain in the future).

Poor show Eloise, both for having a lack of integrity and being a consumer sheep.

I really don’t understand the “oh if you have to have three vaccines it clearly doesn’t work then” argument. What medicine do you take once and are magically healed?? Courses of antibiotics, even paracetamol - take two as required four hours apart etc etc. And let’s also apply to herbal medicine for the natural route - you don’t just drink one cup of herbal tea and… sorted! It’s just a bizarre way of looking at it.

And of course there so much more to it. The immune system is complex enough in itself. And immunity wanes, that’s not rocket science.

The new variant is 35 mutations away from the original virus. That’s a lot of opportunity for the strain to look different and our immune systems to not have an exact identification to work with… Plus they haven’t even said the vaccines won’t work against it, they just know (cos, u know, history, science, phds, research etc) that the more a virus mutates, the less effective a vaccine is if it’s been made for the original strain. So boosting is a logical next step…

Tbh, unless a person has actually listened to the people who’s job it is to know this stuff, then there is no conversation to be had… Esp of your evidence is ‘ooh omicron is an anagram of moronic’. Ah! Well that explains away the science and evidence and everything….!

You could be describing someone I know very well. Same age children, none of them vaccinated, no longer in school - left the country to build a Shaman retreat. Kids are given cannabis oil if they are ill (and they are - often - never saw them without snotty noses and awful coughs). The older one was given weed to smoke when it wasn’t well. All this comes from the bloke and his wife just goes along with it, pretending she’s of the same ilk. Someone reported them to the police before they left the U.K. Blamed it on his brother - who is just a normal lad - it was probably one of his neighbours who had seen the ‘ceremonies’ taking place in their home when the kids were around. Fucking crazy.

Reading things like this makes me realise how well my parents brought us up. I'm currently in Costa at the hospital. My mum is at end of life and I just needed a break / distraction. We were talking about my dad, who is long gone, and when he was suspended from Ford's. A supervisor wanted a young lad to do something inherently dangerous and my dad stopped him saying do it yourself you lazy cunt. (OIK.. we could be related). He always said you have to stand up for those who can't stand up for themselves. I can see the values he and my mum instilled in us in my kids and my nephew and nieces. My heart breaks when you see kids with parents like these..
