I can take people making mistakes, as long as they take responsibility. And in my real life, when I make a mistake or my family / friends make mistakes, we own the problem, talk about it and move forward.

But the whole thing about the “influencer” culture is that these people talk to us as if they are our friends ... they chat away and they show us (edited) parts of their lives - and they basically monetise s. They could not give a flup about us as other human beings. They take advantage of our boredom or lack of connection or loneliness ... and they use the numbers to enhance their lives, monetarily.

But then, they expose themselves - and it all starts to seep through the carefully curated life of fuzzy filters and fugly kitchen renos and half naked children and handsome partners who they constantly break up with and animals they buy from breeders all the while pretending to be conscious about animal rights and veganism and fast clothing and homeware they flog for affiliate links and ambassadorships for refugees while being racist as fuck about gypsies ... They are exposed.

And we - as their audience - call them on it. Because we think we have a stake and a relationship and we think we are important and valid. And because their hypocrisy is a bitter taste and their smugness feels vile.

And then they cry and go to the police and ban and erase and lie and scrabble because their true selves - the greedy, grasping, lying, don’t give a fuck, ugly, chaotic, mean - self... it’s shining through for all to see. And they insist that we - their audience - their money - their livelihood - have no right! Have no right to speak about them, or judge.

Predicted story post 30/11/20 “We as a family have had to making the heartbreaking decision to rehome buddy/bailey/boris? - it just wasn’t the right time. Luckily a beautiful local couple have adopted him. I won’t be talking about it anymore on here”

really annoys me under her post today that she says it’s a honour to turn grey and get older, but yet gets Botox and gets her lips done

I've never posted on Tattle before but the puppy thing has tipped me over the edge. They're clearly in an unstable place (splitting up, back together, can't get a mortgage, now they can etc.) Its bad enough to have kids mixed up in it all, but to add a poor puppy.

I'm sick of "influencers" promoting pedigree/designer dogs while so many others sit in shelters.

I hope she realises that a dog is NOT a prop for likes. The kids will get bored quick and she'll still have to care for it, even when the cute puppy pics stop bringing in the likes, it will still need loving and walking.

Sorry to rant, just a real bug bear for me.

Plus she even spelt Cockapoo wrong, so she obviously did LOADS of research 🙄

To me, it sounds like... 'They told me how to use it but this wasn't paid content etc so... 🤷🏼‍♀️'

It also sounds like someone got a bollocking for it this morning and that's why someone is like a snarling cat.

Just be accountable... I.e. yes, shouldn't have put it on in sunlight, mea culpa. End of.

"I go out of my way to work RESPONSIBLY with brands [...] Not all influencers do" - so what? Brands etc should be happy with half arsing it? Please.

Managing to sound both incredibly arrogant and like a complete eejit in a matter of minutes is quite a feat.

I wonder why you would take two of your children to a supermarket during a pandemic? I know some people HAVE to, but anyone I know is doing all they can to get shopping done alone. She wasn't willing to send them back to school but happy to let them skip around Lidl. Give me a break!

Literally came on here tonight to say that they’re like soft porn, absolutely fucking ridiculous that as a mother she can’t see that. It’s really so worrying
The pictures of the kids? While I don’t agree with blatantly using your children for ads to fund your lifestyle I really don’t think you could use the term soft porn to describe pictures of them. In fact I think that’s a really really strange thing to say. They are pictures of her children playing outside on a sunny day - would I have posted them personally? No probably not because I’m not trying to advertise my kids. But saying it’s like soft porn is strange and vile

Edited to say: sorry I’m not trying to attack you either with that, reading back it sounds like I am with the use of the word vile. I think it’s because any reference to porn or children in the same kind of sentence just makes me so uncomfortable. I do know where you are coming from in your opinion. Just the porn phrase got me

The #ad post of her sitting in the bright sunlight applying her #gifted dermalogica retinol clearing oil....ffs any one with a modicum of common sense would know not to use a retinol in bright sunshine....it's a NIGHT TIME treatment oil!
- if you want to be taken seriously then do a bit of research on the product before pouting suggestively in front of the camera ...took me 20 seconds to get the details...here you are Eimear!

“Kind of gypsy style”
Are you fucking kidding me?
She is so tone-deaf.
I think I’ll develop a “Kind of Eimear style” where I get into a load of debt, complain about followers, shill products (incorrectly) and don’t tag posts according to trading standards, start a crappy kitchen journey, “forget“ about BLM for a full 10 hours (even though it was in your face all day) before backtracking, and then be racist towards another community.

Ad for No.7 retinol on her feed - hasn't it only been 5 minutes since she was photographing dermologica retinol on her feed? I blame the brands at this point, has the not got some sort of non-compete clause in their contract?

I had to unfollow recently when I heard EVB complaining about a drop in followers after she posted another series of stories about a gifted stay in a Cork hotel. She initially said she was interested in ''the psychology'' of people unfollowing, but then dismissed it as jealousy, which seemed to me to be oversimplifying things in the extreme.
It showed a distinct lack of awareness about repetitive content of yet another hotel stay, and a lack of understanding that consumers (of her content/brand/whatever she is selling) have agency and can lose interest when there is so much repetition and ad nauseum statements about how amazing a particular venue is. I think EVB has a tendency to point the finger outwards because it's convenient to dismiss these things as jealousy, when actually people most likely aren't interested in constantly seeing the same old same old. In the case of Instagram, people can't vote with their feet, so they vote with the unfollow button instead.
For me, the sandwiching of stories about refugees between gifted hotel experiences seemed to be entirely crass & insensitive, and there was a sense that if there is a bandwagon, she is on it - be it plant based/ veganism/ meditation/ yoga/ humanitarian crises. It all seemed to be ringing hollow to me.
In the context of the refugee crisis, I saw she had mentioned some previous volunteering/aid work experience and was encouraging others to get involved but I also remember reading in a post some time back about a 2 week long stint volunteering at an orphanage as a school girl. Not to say that experience wouldn't have been formative, but showcasing it as aid work experience in light of the more recent humanitarian crises in Greece seemed distinctly disingenuous.
I think that Eimear seems petulant when anyone questions something or takes issue with something she has said - despite the constant messaging from her about say what you feel, speak your truth, acknowledge things you don't appreciate, call things out etc; again there is a distinct lack of any robust conversation and everything is immediately categorised as jealousy or trolling. Cancel culture. For whatever reason, it seems that for so many in her field, if you are not fawning or propping up, then you are a troll.

The only person I have ever seen engage with their audience in this regard in a really authentic and transparent way is Mother Pukka. She does it beautifully, and has established an amazing platform and cause - she is also focussed on some very key issues, as opposed to lurching around from one thing to another desperately seeking relevance.
From a consumer point of view, it's interesting to me that brands continue to want to work with EVB as I find her erratic and often inarticulate/doesn't interview well. It's fascinating what brands assume consumers want to hear, and who they want to hear it from. I have no doubt that she will continue in this space, and will likely continue to do well from it, but I am glad to not engage anymore.

2 things wrong with this....
1.
Taking up ceramic tiles in flip flops is a guaranteed trip to a&e for stitches.
2.
Those tiles the tool is under are upside down, so that means they were already up. She could have at least placed it the right way around 😂

I been reading the thread and I gotta say I really don't see why she's so offensive? I find her posts interesting enough and am not remotely bothered about her relationship or finances....
I think her Ignorance to BLM and her comment about the gypsy look is offensive enough .
