If you shop in Asda a lot, definately definately get the Asda rewards app, there’s lots of offers on and the cash pot builds up quickly! I have £23 in it and have just been doing my normal shop!
Surprised how some customers have been so dismissive of it as just another loyalty scheme! It’s free money peeps😜
Really? I thought you only had cash back if you bought certain things (like a tub of celebrations etc) so I was scared of wasting money.

they’ve started rationing the essentials range in my local Asda you can only buy two of each item

Bastards. Makes me wonder fixed tariffs will eventually become a thing of the past.
Ok from people replying on facebook it will be a VAT thing, apparently the bill doesnt show the price with VAT but the app prices do. Makes sense why its only a tiny difference.

I'd definitely do that if Tesco and Morrisons didn't regularly not have items in stock. My last shop from Morrisons had 15 subs 😖
We stopped having Morrisons as the pickers at ours are awful, you never know what your getting as even if they sub they dont put it on the list :ROFLMAO:
And Asda is full of subs, in my area Sains, Tesco, Ocado & Iceland are the best

Was looking at the oodie and weighted blanket bundles. Has anyone tried the blankets and if they’re worth it compared to other brands?

I'm now looking at the official guidance for the mourning period as beyond flags at half mast and black armbands while basically carrying on as usual I have no idea wtf we're supposed to do that's different, never mind kill the economy, cost a fortune etc...

Have some places/central roads had to shut for the cortege? And then the potential bank holiday?

What I did with checking the heating cost, I think i'm going to do with some of the other appliances.
I know theres still standing charge & items that are always on Fridge/Freezer etc but it could help with a general idea of cost.
Then you can plan your Weekly costs for example if you know you use the washer twice, dishwasher 3 then can mix it. So if you use the washer less that Week that cost can go toward a diff appliance.

After seeing that heating cost I'm happy we've got a log burner & plenty of wood/coal. Last Year I know our Gas cost was usually £3.50- 4.73 but I didn't take notice of how long it was actually on.

Power NI pushing their freedom pads maybe the fact 74% of households will be in fuel poverty has something to do with it 😏

It's not just about Ukraine though. It's about not allowing Putin to run amok over Europe doing whatever he wants.
You are right about the Ukrainian first lady though, that was very tactless of her and doesn't help matters at all.
Will he run amok though? He’s a dead man walking. I think Gorbachev’s funeral has proved he’s gone to ground and can’t trust anyone getting too close ,he’s just a sitting target but unfortunately so are we.

My direct line home insurance had gone up by 45. Managed to get it 140 cheaper from a decent insurer who I also have car insurance with. Was surprised I managed to get it so much cheaper but definitely grateful I shopped around (had the same car and home insurance for last few years, normally someone who is fairly loyal rather than shopping around)
Oh yeah full disclaimer our contents insurance went up a tad, but we did move so it’s not a like for like product so I can’t complain really! We had to get ours manually underwritten so shopping around isn’t as easy so unless they take the p we’ll stick with them. They couldn’t provide buildings insurance for our new house for reasons but suggested a firm who specialise in certain stuff who’ve been brilliant which I really appreciated. I really like them and their call centre staff are always great tbh.

Oh don’t get me started on my daughters secondary school lunch time food!! She sent me some pics of just how bad the food was once and the price was shocking ! £3 for a tiny slice of pizza with hardly to no cheese dry tomato sauce , hard pasta with sauce and cheese , dry rolls with a cheap nasty slice of ham oh the list goes on !! She was getting through £15 / £20 a week and the portions were shocking !!!! So I refuse to give her money for lunch at school either a Tesco meal deal or a packed lunch now!! It’s so sad how these private catering companies run these things back when I was at school the dinner ladies were employed by the school and the school purchased the food no profiteering and I remember my lunches being really good value !!

And that wasn’t even long ago like 15 years ago!!
She liked the lunches at the other school, said the portions were big (her primary seemed to give out toddler sized portions). This new school rushed her yesterday and she ended up with a chicken wrap (she's veggie and dairy free) because all the veggie stuff was cheesy. She's free school dinners but I don't think they'll credit her account with enough for a drink too.

I get the unbranded ones. never had a problem they are really warm just bought 4 new ones last week for me and the three granddaughters and come to £55. Put mine on yesterday morning as it was a bit chilly, I only had it on for ten mins and had to take it off as it was far too hot.
where did you get them from?

I always thought Asda was meant to be cheaper, I'm surprised. I find Sainsbury's is cheaper than Tesco, and Aldi and Lidl are cheaper still. I tend to stick to own brands. I priced up Morrisons for delivery once and it was more than Sainsbury's and Tesco.

Has anyone tried Topcashback for online shopping?
I think the main thing in my shop that made it higher was Tesco/Sainsburys do the Pizza meal deal. So for Asda I had to add the pizza, sides seperate.
I'll have to do another but go for the cheapest items. That one i'd assume Asda will be best

I guess so. How annoying. I live in a heavily populated area but I guess cost is spread out due to some rural areas 🙄

Its colder and darker here anyway through winter so its a double whammy, higher standing charges and need to have lights and heating on more 🙄
I can see why they average it. If it wasn't then it could be 10p a day in Glasgow and £10 a day in a remote hamlet in the Outer Hebrides.

Or maybe it would make more sense to average it out across the whole country.
