My name on there is the same , have not been there in a while, the Last time was probably for I’m a celeb, mainly reality tv for me. I did go on the showbiz blinds but could never work out most of them and if you did get one right you were almost afraid for your life! Cannot understand why they are so jumpy when over here you can say what you like?

I just popped on to read what people thought of the new series of The Bay, sometimes there's decent enough insights on the TV Shows UK forum and I've never found anywhere with certain shows bing discussed.

WTF is going on, nothing on the latest page (49) is even really about the show? It's like it's a big joke between long-time members and if you aren't one of them go away?

There was a thread about JK what'sherface about the comments she made on twitter, the thread was closed and at least 8 people BANNED.

There was a thread about the bans but the thread was pulled within minutes.

Yeah, you know the mods have lost the plot when they ban Whedonite over that thread, who is one of the most leftist lefties, wokiest woke person I have ever seen on a forum. I’ve never seen her write anything outside of the “party line” - still didn’t, actually. In that thread she kept reiterating that she thinks trans women are women but ‘please don’t call me a cis-woman because I don’t like it’ and was routinely ignored. I don’t like her so wasn’t particularly upset that she was getting goaded and patronisingly spoken to like I’ve seen her do to others. Perhaps it will also be a lesson to her that when you live your life by admonishing people and trying to get them “cancelled” when they don’t have the same views as you, don’t be surprised when suddenly your own views aren’t considered up to standard and the mob turns on you.

God I could write an essay thesis rant calling out DS posters. I can think of five off the top of my head but could probably be pushed to twenty if I had a few minutes to think of names.

There is one poster in showbiz who always gives me a headache no matter what I post.

I also get a lot of flack in GD with my threads mainly because my links are from the Daily Mail.

Well at least something good came out of the advice section, I've cured my cramp problem after
someone suggesting I eat Banana's, I tried it and bloody well did the trick.

Although this forum isn't as busy I find this to be a much better forum than DS.

I've been checking out numerous threads and it's just a much nicer place as I haven't noticed and cliques and nobody constantly snipes at you plus it seems to allow a lot different discussion.

I fully agree. I blame the inconsistent moderation in recent years on DS as to why more former posters from there have now moved to here. Not just those who have been banned without any decent rhyme or reason, also those who are starting to realise the whole forum is no longer what they once knew and liked posting on.

I'd love to see a few of the sanctimonious twats from the Politics on here. There's no chance of that though because they wouldn't dare to come without their back-up. I've had a look on there today and an old post about Stockpiling for Brexit ( Remainers only) has been resurrected obviously to attract any poor sod who exercised their right to vote their own way in a referendum. All that forum is now is post upon post of everybody agreeing with each other because the blinkered fools have managed to get rid of those with an opposing view. Let them come.

Hi everyone I'm another ex DS poster. I'm new here but you all seem lovely. I was banned from DS after refuting claims made by posters on a Trans thread. My crime was defending Graham Lytham. But I'd been warned many times lol I also fell foul of that crazy cow Whedonite several times. She probably reported me a few times too. She seems like a radical feminist with issues ...or just a troll. Nice to be here x

There's poster over there called Sierra Mist who seems to have set himself up as a covid Oracle, and most of the others treat him like an expert on the pandemic. He gets very annoyed when anyone questions his sources etc

This is the problem. Many posters seem like they just want to project a sanctimoniousness about how good they're being in this pandemic. I sometimes wonder just how much they tell the truth though haha

I lurked there for years but I’ve only ever posted a handful of times because of the amount of ridiculous arguments other people have on every thread.

A few regular users even ganged up on someone for posting a new thread about
something that happened in an episode.

Literally just a characters name in the title and I think they ended up being banned? Surely you should stay off a soap forum until you’ve caught up on the ones you care about

This didn’t happen on DS but I once had a load of posters round on me because I “ruined” the ending of Harry Potter for a user that hadn’t read it by not putting it in a spoiler tag. Which is fine but the last book came out in 2007 and this was in 2014.

Trans activists quite upset me. I consider myself a LGBTQ+ ally but trans activists are so toxic and even violent they make me afraid for the future. It's mindboggling they can't see the harm they are doing to their own cause.

Yes I totally agree with you. I'm all for 'live and let live' but some of them are really scary, and as you say they are harming their own cause by their hard line approach and the insistence that everyone falls into line. It's as if the mods are scared of being accused of being phobic by them so they just let them bully everyone else into submission.

That's why they spend all their life on the internet and rack up 42,800 posts in 8 years. (That's 14-15 posts a day on that one site alone, every day - no holidays, no social life)

I scraped just over 7k on mine before a ban and that was over 12 years! At least I guess on a forum it’s an active conversation. I saw someone’s random Twitter feed, they had tens of thousands of posts but under 1 thousand followers. It was random tweets like “I hate walking to work omg” “it’s so sunny today, I’m melting” and it just left me thinking “Who are you talking to?” It’s no wonder people who are online so much don’t seem to be all there and not part of the “real world”

I was banned for saying that it’s just a biological fact that transwomen can’t menstruate. They can’t because they weren’t born with the ‘equipment’ to do so. I’ve nothing against trans people on a personal level, live and let live as far I’m concerned etc.

But apparently pointing out that it’s not transphobic to say trans women can’t have periods is ‘minimizing transphobia‘.

I certainly agree. There is no room for sensible debate on anything any more. If you post anything short of whole hearted approval (from the accepted DS opinion) you will be attacked or banned. When I first joined years ago you could have a bit of a laugh but these days I find the place toxic and deeply unpleasant. I'm never going back there again and by the sounds of it neither will many others.

Hopefully DS will sink under their bandwagon of wokery.

I hadn’t realised Sulla had been banned.

I was banned a few weeks ago for sticking up for JK Rowling, didn’t say anything especially offensive. Just that I agree with her views.

Sulla went ages ago, one of my favourite posters, in fact some of the best posters have been banned now.

Don't mention Harry and Megain, well, don't criticise them in any way or you get a final warning or ban. I asked the reasons I got suspended and was told posting links to media sources could incite hatred and leave DS open to legal action from Harry and Megain.

They do seem to be very worried about litigation.
Okay a lot of stuff discussed on this forum is just gossip. Probably some of it is rubbish and certainly a lot is unproven rumours but how is it than we can discuss on here and not on DS?

DS have a rabid fear about certain subjects and threads seem to be automatically deleted if they mention the McCann's, Katie Price and Philip Schofield. I guess we can now add Meghan and Harry to that list.

I can't see the point of a forum where people can't actually discuss or put forward any opinion other than one of total agreement that the celeb is anything other than wonderful.

Hello all! I’m a DSer too, but probably one of the sanctimonious ones so I’ll keep it low on here
A) I actually thought the JK thread was doing quite well for an open discussion for a while then it got a bit silly
B) I saw a poster mention lurking in the Strictly live thread - yes it is very bring the sausage rolls and have a party but it is very good fun and I tend to think it’s quite welcoming

but yes, DS has definitely changed in the 14 odd years I’ve been on there, and not for the better I also only found Tattle because of PS but my eyes have been opened to SO MUCH GOSSIP.
