Sleazy PM's are quite disconcerting, but a few DS members have hooked up in real life after exchanging PMs. GDman (?) and Saffi74 were one couple who lived out their romance online, probably still are for all I know, snug in their static caravan in St Asaph. It's one thing communicating with your partner on Facebook when you live in the same house, it's a whole different - and slightly bewildering - story conducting your love affair on Digital Spy. Or is it just me that finds it strange?

It is strange. And you even wonder if what you're reading is true, there's so many Walter Mittys online. Something is up with your relationship if that matters to you.

If life is full, happy and fulfilling, you wouldn't need your every move validated by strangers online.

I sometimes wonder if post-internet generations will grow up socially warped, inept and unable to interact with the world in the moment without staring into a camera phone or worrying about how many Likes they'll get. Maybe they'll communicate in grunts and clicks.

I don't comment on any social media influencer threads on Tattle, as I don't understand why anyone would want to do it in the first place.

Ive always felt that Digital Spy is a real haven of misogyny. Lots of ‘I’m such a nice guy why don’t women fancy me’ and stuff like that. There’s a poster called MACTOWIN who is fixated on women being jealous of other women, or more to the point women jealous of other women that MACTOWIN finds attractive. Whenever called out he’d chuck a stop and report you. My favourite was when he spent an entire series of Strictly ranting about how young attractive women never win and then Abbey Clancy won and he suddenly disappeared.

There’s a deeply unpleasant stench of misogyny that runs through DS. Not that the “nice guys” would ever admit it. Oh, and that’s another user, niceguy1966, that’s a misleading username if I ever did see one.

The classic Emmerdale and Corrie forums have to be the most clique forms on there, they completely ignore you unless you are one of the gang. One of them asked about one of the characters and I answered it and got no acknowledgement until about 5 pages later one of the gang almost gave them my word for word answer so I kicked off and told them where to shove their pickled onion crisps or whatever that days snack was and just shove a sarky comment in there now and again.

There's no consistency whatsoever on DS - they hand out warnings and bans for the most trivial things while allowing certain posters to say what they want, no matter how bad it is, with no comeback. You then have the big red sign saying 'USER BANNED, PLEASE CARRY ON' over the profile picture for everyone to see showing how petty they are that they either feel the need to embarrass the forum member or prove to everyone else how much authority they've got - this seems to be backfiring because they ban so many people because of a certain few who spend all day pushing the report button, that all it does is confirm that they are just minions to the clique who they seem to be scared of.

I'm surprised that she's been there less than a year yet posts so often and seems to have influence on decisions.

Perhaps she's a mod !

I've just remembered there was another thread on the same subject quite some time ago, I learned to my horror that Sulla had been banned.

Sulla was banned a few years ago.

Those mods don’t know their arse from their elbow. I contacted them once and asked them why they had taken away a certain feature that used to be on the site. They replied back saying they never had that feature at all and wasn’t planning to implement it. I emailed them back with a link to a 10 page thread I made a few years before about said feature. No response after that

When the pack attack, it's always the same. They expect FMs to explain their views (unless they are the same as their own), and even when explanations are provided in detail, they continue to brow beat the opinion. They are cruel bullies who are being allowed to continue their evil ways, whilst the great atmosphere that DS used to have has been killed off.

Yes, they are not happy if you can’t provide endless links, proof, charts, facts and figures for every little point. To me that’s not a discussion by normal, everyday people. If they want this depth of discussion, and impress other posters, go and read all the research or start your own in depth group. I’m not doing a university assignment, just want to comment to the limit of my admittedly limited knowledge, like most people.

Banglaroad is a another vindictive arsehole who dominates the radio section especially the LBC chit chat thread and if you don't listen to the right radio station/presenter he takes great delight in calling you a fascist nazi gammon I would love to see him get his comeuppance one day.

Do you remember Sloopy? She had an immense post count but all she ever said was rephrasing what the last post said, so, for example, I would say 'Victoria Beckham is so materalistic' and she would reply with 'The Beckhams, especially Victoria, only care about money.' She'd do it to everyone and her posts always came hours after the original ones so it's like she literally had nothing original to say. Haven't seen her for a while. & Stewing - hated Kylie with a passion but I quite liked her.

It is such a weird forum though, and seems to attract a lot of ‘nice guys’ who think women owe them something. Tattle is much nicer.

What really pissed me off, and drew me over here, was the way they silenced any criticism of Schofields ridiculous ‘coming out’, when by all accounts he’d been ‘out’ privately for his entire career. We weren’t allowed to even say we felt sorry for his wife and daughters for being lied to.

I posted on DS for years but it’s so heavily moderated now that I no longer get any enjoyment from posting there. I found Tattle when Schofield came out in February and DS mods were deleting anything and everything that questioned why now and what his motives are.

I really detest Macca. Someone that feels they need to protect an online forum but at the same time breaks many rules with their drive by posts and thread whining. Someone started a thread about a TV show, telling us where and when it was airing, Macca had to have the first reply "Why have you formatted your post in that way?" Go away you boring poster! I have seen that they check every single thread just to make sure it agrees with what they think Ds should be.

I think your concern for Katie Price is rather misplaced. She has no talent other than a desperate ability to generate column inches for herself using her kids, boyfriends and surgical procedures.

She thrives on any publicity (good or bad) because as long as people are writing about her she's still relevant (in her eyes )

In my view nobody is above criticism when they are public figures. It would be very dull if everyone just agreed XX (insert name) is lovely.

My main problem with DS these days is the hypocrisy. For example Ant can be abused but his ex wife is a saint. The royal family can be criticised but not Meghan and Harry and god forbid anyone sticks up for JK Rowling! It's very selective on there when it comes to what criticism is allowed.

Hi everyone. I joined DS about fourteen years ago and have to agree with comments in this thread about certain posters who don't think others should have an opinion that differs from their own. The Politics forum is the worst, it's horrendous and Support just let it go. I've been warned on there so many times for the most trivial posts, mainly for having an opinion. It's not been the same since SULLA was banned as his little quips were hilarious and he never let the argumentative idiots get to him.

I'm currently banned for daring to include my own opinion but I can't understand why? Anyway, I stumbled across you all in here, and I think I'm going to enjoy myself.

I hadn’t realised Sulla had been banned.

I was banned a few weeks ago for sticking up for JK Rowling, didn’t say anything especially offensive. Just that I agree with her views.

Morning all. I'm on DS and after you got mentioned over there I had to come over and take a look and this thread is hilarious. Personally I don't find DS that bad but I have come across plenty of the posters mentioned but I never interact with them. I tend to say my piece in a thread and that's it and I never get drawn into any arguments if it annoys someone. I find arguing with a stranger on the internet such a waste of time.

The thing is, it is a discussion forum, so people will disagree with you, and that prompts more discussion, which isn’t an argument. That’s the point of DS- discussion. Trouble is , some posters can turn nasty and vindictive, especially on the Politics forums, where some are real “ pieces of work” and gang up and bully other posters- for some reason they don’t get banned. You don’t have to post anything particularly bad to get banned though, due to some with their finger stuck on the flag button! We all know the culprits who, together, are part of a vile broth of nastiness which is tolerated by mods.

Another DS refugee here (from the LBC thread). Banned for life after 17 years, for expressing opinions that didn't please the mob of potty-mouthed bullies who rule the thread now.

Hopefully here will be much better. Let the Nasties continue to spoil what once was a good thread. Bullies attract other bullies and that is what is happening now. Any decent posters are either ignored, or ridiculed
