I got in trouble there the other day on that thread about Lisa being photographed wearing PJs. They all have a violent dislike of Ant Mcpartlin and deemed that Lisa being papped was down to him trying to discredit her!

Now I don't have a strong opinion about either of them but you would think that Ant was the devil incarnate over there. When i posted that Ant has moved on and probably has better things to do with his life than ensure Lisa is hounded by the press, I was accused of being a zealot fan of Ant (and I'm really not). There's absolutely no balance. Everytime I see certain posters pop up I know that they are going to relentlessly push their agenda.

You're not allowed to post anything from the Mail over there because it automatically means that you are a right wing fascist 🙄
Remember when some bright spark on Virgin Trains tried to ban the Daily Mail but in the end they were ordered by Branson himself to re-stock it? God knows I have my issues with that publication but incidents like that and groups like #stopfundinghate give you an idea of who the fascists really are. The one good thing about the Mail is they do have open discussions about issues nobody else wants to and that's one of the few compliments I'll ever give them, because as Judge Judy once said you don't want to live in a world with only one voice.

Everytime I see certain posters pop up I know that they are going to relentlessly push their agenda.
CoughWhedonitecough.

Another DS refugee here.

Dared to be happy about the lifting of COVID restrictions earlier in the week, but apparently I was an 'idiot'. Questioned why?

Next time I logged on ALL my (polite) responses had been removed but the idiot post is still there.

Would love to know what walterwhite and tanya1982 have on the mods cos there can post any shit they like.

Sulla was banned a few years ago.

Those mods don’t know their arse from their elbow. I contacted them once and asked them why they had taken away a certain feature that used to be on the site. They replied back saying they never had that feature at all and wasn’t planning to implement it. I emailed them back with a link to a 10 page thread I made a few years before about said feature. No response after that 😂😬
When I was an active member back in 2018, I was quite open about my sexuality (lesbian). However, when I started to receive some rather nasty PMs regarding what lesbians get up to in the middle of the night. I reported them, but the mods didn't do Jack.

However, a few weeks later, I had a pop at Jeremy Corbyn, and within a day I got a temporary banning!

The worst are people like Frank Debrin, carl.waring (so shockingly rude I can't believe he's not been banned), the_don1, bollywood, and unique. Don't even bother trying to converse with them, just shove them on ignore. It will save some massive headaches. It's mindblowing to me how certain posters can break the rules 100 times over and nothing, but you can get banned for saying "I agree" to someone's politely expessed opinion in a debate about transgender issues.
There are a bunch of trans activists on there and you cannot say anything without them getting offended. For example they all got up in arms about a tweet made by JK Rowling (which I didn't see as offensive). She was being ripped to sheds over it. Because they are so aggressive its absolutely not worth joining any discussion on the subject.

I have a feeling the Digital Spy forums won’t be around after 2021. That is, if they have any members left to keep it going that they haven’t already banned by then.

The 200 page thread, it seemed to attract all the nasty low lifes over on DS who more than likely live a shite life and attacking someone on social media cheers them up.
Ive always felt that Digital Spy is a real haven of misogyny. Lots of ‘I’m such a nice guy why don’t women fancy me’ and stuff like that. There’s a poster called MACTOWIN who is fixated on women being jealous of other women, or more to the point women jealous of other women that MACTOWIN finds attractive. Whenever called out he’d chuck a stop and report you. My favourite was when he spent an entire series of Strictly ranting about how young attractive women never win and then Abbey Clancy won and he suddenly disappeared.

Tanya1982 is still being given free reign to cause utter chaos in any thread she rocks up in and decides to takeover as her own personal safe space.

I have never seen anything so bizarre on any online community, and I've been online for a bloody long time.

Have loved catching up with this thread.

I've lurked on DS for years. Did post at one point but got fed up of the way people went on the attack over everything just because they wanted a fight. It's much better just lurking and laughing at all the morons.

Some posters really are truly nasty though. I wonder how the likes of walterwhite, dee123, BanglaRoad, Boo Radley 75 and shackfan haven't been banned. Then you get people like Walter Neff who are just really grumpy about everything and their posts are a real downer.

The politics forum there is just mind-boggling though. The level of hatred for anyone not in line with the hivemind is horrifying and scary. Hearst have a deeply troubling brand of censorship where abuse is okay as long as you have the "correct" opinion.

The showbiz gossip forum used to be absolutely brilliant. We had some great discussions over there. I can remember us talking about Jimmy Savile being a pedalo on the blind gossip thread years before he died and the truth came out, though our nickname for him ‘Mr Fix It‘ was hardly subtle yet we seemed to get away with it 😂 there were a lot of posters who were in the know about his true character. A few them lived in and around Leeds where Savile himself lived.
I actually met Mr Fix It as a student nurse at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, when I was doing a spinal injuries placement. This was back when JS was an NHS hero, running marathons and raising millions for hospitals up and down the country. He was charming to us student nurses, telling us all about his good works for the Spinal Unit, but when he left, he picked up my hand and french-kissed my palm whilst winking at me. I was - still am - traumatised.

I have subsequently found out I am not alone in my trauma, tonguing young women's hands, especially in public, was a speciality of his. 🤢🤢🤢

Sounds like you haven't had the pleasure of the pack descending on you - they would try the patience of a saint!
When the pack attack, it's always the same. They expect FMs to explain their views (unless they are the same as their own), and even when explanations are provided in detail, they continue to brow beat the opinion. They are cruel bullies who are being allowed to continue their evil ways, whilst the great atmosphere that DS used to have has been killed off.

Hi there, another DS’er whose venturing in this direction because it really is going downhill in such a short space of time.
I’m still active on DS (with another animal themed user name) but who knows for how much longer?!?! Hope to have a nice conversation with you all here in what could be my new home! 😊

As a new member I thought I would post and say that I am another person who posted on DS for many years with little idea there was a reporting and warning system. Then they kept coming and I was banned.

As I mostly posted on the LBC thread let me list my supposed crimes.

1. I like the Nick Ferrari show
2. I am apparently a fan of Jon Gaunt in spite of the fact that when first accused I did not even know who he was!
3. From time to time I mention the problems and failures of James O'Brien.
4. Occasionally listening to James O'Brien which you are not supposed to do unless you like him. When I stopped listening to him several years ago this pivoted to you must be listening to him!
5. Mentioning anything positive about the UK.

The clique which run the thread exited decent poster after decent poster and must have sore fingers from all the pressing of the report button.
By contrast one poster trolled pretty much every post I made often in a nasty fashion but nothing was done.
Another kept inferring that Nick Ferrari hung around men's toilets but is still there.
Another seems unable to post without scatological and toilet references.
I see there have already been plenty of references to Banglaroad who seems to have nothing else to do.

The shame is that it was an active and mostly friendly forum whereas now it is a quiet echo chamber.

The banned poster? It was Helenbemerry. She always stood her corner but they've got her banned in the end.
Thank you for getting back to me - I'm actually Helenbemerry so I did wonder if it was me you were talking about. Thank you for saying what you did, sometimes you feel like you're going mad on there. I just get so frustrated when they're coming at you from all angles and end up getting tied up in in knots and losing track of who I'm actually responding to and I noticed the mods have deleted a lot of my posts.

I didn't like to say who I was on DS in case everyone hated me so would give me a wide berth on here :sneaky:

Hi everyone! I’m also a former DS forum user - often frequenting the broadcasting, Sky and Mobile Phone sub-forums (under the same username) I was an active member since pretty much day one, until about 2 years ago when I dared to have a different opinion in the Politics forum. I’d gone from not having ever being sanctioned to getting a lifetime ban within a few weeks. I’d like to echo that I was an “outsider” as I had opposing views (I support Brexit and hate the Labour Party) and the packs of wolves were out in force, dishing out personal abuse, picking apart everything and rounding up others to “have a go”. Of course, when I retaliated I was banned. I reported the other members for their vitriol but they were allowed to continue unabated.

Not only am I glad to have only found this place today, I’m also glad that I wasn’t alone. I was made out to be the devil-incarnate and was bullied out.
Several of us have had the same experience. I think the problem may be that some of the sneering, vitriolic posters are mods themselves. Even appealing to the CEO of Hearst hasn’t worked, probably because they discus the appeal with those very mods. Eventually they might all drown in the vile, acidic broth that is the the politics forum! It used to be a very interesting forum where different views were respected, but if you don’t support Labour, and you voted leave, then you become the devil incarnate!

I remember the posts about the brother and anti-social behaviour.... in fact I think we are due another one of them soon, there hasn't been an update for a while.

The other ones in Advice that I remember are: The poster pining for her friend that ghosted her (Connie wasn't it?) and the guy that took a fancy to the woman in the local co-op who he then friended on Facebook and when he found out she had a child posted a thread asking if it was easy to be a stepfather.... all because she said "hello" to him haha.
