I believe she is well travelled, it's her additional comments I don't buy. If they really are true, she should at least respect the the OP and not make a thread all about her, which she does most of the time.

Agreed. I think she's telling the truth about some things but some of her anecdotes are quite obviously made up. God knows what she gets out of it.

Do you know what I dislike the most about that thread? It's the smugness and the dismissive nature of so many of their replies. There's no discussion. It's their opinion and that's that. If you disagree you're a racist gammon and yet if you look at the last few pages they're patting themselves on the back for how much better the thread is these days and how objective they are.

Yes, they mentioned how before a couple of posters targeted a certain presenter & it was out of order, so they were banned.
Now though it's fine to target certain presenters.
You couldn't make it up.
It's a glimpse into a Brave New World where if you don't follow the narrative you'll be ostracized..

Digital Spy is just the latest victim in the hive mind culture wars which extremists are waging using social media as their weapon.

Unfortunately their decision to exclusively moderate one side of each controversial argument just gives the perfect environment for extremism to breed and grow. Extremist posters are allowed free run to argue and belittle and berate the moderates who decide to stick their head above the parapet to make a case for reason. The moderates cannot win as they will be overwhelmed by the force of extremism and sheer numbers.

See the politic thread on the policing of the Sarah Everade vigil as an example. If posters like CRM are allowed to continue their bile unabated and are able to freely throw around personal abuse and unfounded crap with abandon then the forum is already dead and gone.

Lots of posts removed regarding Piers Morgan and Prince Nicebutdim and his wife Princess Icanwalkonwater, lots of personal attacks on others members are allowed more these days certainly if your not in the WOKE brigade and dare post something that triggers irrational anger in the snowflakes.

What I don't understand about social media is why people make it personal, if you don't agree with a posters viewpoint thats fine, debate is healthy but some can't stick with that, they make attacks on the individual and not their view.

Tanya has been there before in a different 'life' and one or two others. He or she puts posts together well and I'd guess has the ear of at least one moderator; she gets away with a hell of a lot more than us mere mortals thats for sure...a sort of passive aggressive troll lol.

I first noticed her in a thread on Shamima Begum just after she joined up and I was getting PBU vibes off her straight away. When a bolshie "new" member shows up on DS, it gives the impression that they have been there before.

Georgina1992 was a funny troll, quite obviously there to wind up. Not quite the same as Tanya as her stint lasted a month.

It's a sad read that after 20years the owner feels the need to close it because of the behaviour of some of the members. I don't know TV Forum but I do belong to another small forum that's also been around 20years and people don't realise that a lot of these sites are created by individuals who quite often bear the cost and maintenance of running the forum themselves.

I was shocked when IMBD closed their forums as they were huge but they obviously thought it was too much aggravation to maintain the moderation. Hearst may one day feel the same about DS.

It's quite amusing to see James2001 slagging off people who go on other forums slagging off people on DS forums - irony is obviously not his strong point! I suppose it makes a change from his usual contribution to any thread which is ' they knew what they were votong for!'

I joined at the beginning of Feb as I was fed up with the sheer arrogance of several Digital Spy posters. This is a much better place to be and I love it, all views can be said without being totaly shut down. I dread to think that some of the posters will arive over here and try and be like they are on ds. Not all posters are awful but the bad ones seem to outweigh the goods ones now.

I'm thinking so... I only read the last dozen or so posts... The thing that struck me was despite being hospitalised with Covid (I presume) she was together enough before she went into hospital to write down all her passwords for social media sites should anything happen to her? Seems a bit fishy to me.

I've had covid and believe me, the last thing on my mind was updating social media. It is most unpleasant.

A healthy 32yo dying of covid is rare too, I'm sure it would have made the local papers at the time.

Times have changed and people's feelings are more important than facts on a public discussion forum.
