Basket experts (and specifically @ATV2021 😁 ): do I need to do anything to protect my new baby? I do really look after things but I also use my nice things too and I want to keep her pristine.
I feel honoured lol I keep mine in her dustbag/bag when she's not being used in my "bag cupboard" so nice and dark.

I got a bag liner for mine aswell so gives the inside some protection. Otherwise I am a bit "flingy" with bags and believe that they are to be used, so used she is. Still looking good though!

do you know If they hold their value? are they something worth investing in that you can resell later if needed?
No they definitely wouldn’t, especially if you’re using it they’re going to get as trashed over time as any card holder or purse inevitably does.

If you need something that holds its value I wouldn’t recommend going for small leather goods or accessories at all tbh. Someone else has already said but I’d definitely visit a jewellers - but even then you’ve got to be careful re resell as apparently most rings are just weighed in for gold and carats as the appetite for preloved jewellery varies. Vintage fares better for obvious reasons and you can buy some lovely and really unique vintage (Victorian especially!) pieces. But if you’re worried about resell I’d be tempted to just pop the money in a SSISA or something (even a regular saver yields 7% atm).

Yeah I know, I meant from the charity shop :) 👠
May not have known the brand, even if dupes they sell higher so my friend is super chuffed (I am super sad that I have absolute boat feet and couldn't get a toe in)

Me, as a 25 year old wearing my Cartier and Van cleef bracelets, reading this chat 👀🤣

Just to offer a different perspective, honestly though, it might be where I’ve grown up or the people I’m surrounded by, but it’s quite normal to have Cartier/Van cleef bracelets and designer bags when you’re young, bought by your parents. I spent a lot of time in the UAE as well, and its not uncommon to see Chanel bags on young women or stacks of diamond jewellery or a Rolex on a 20 something year old. It is definitely very different in England!

Of course, if you’re working a part time, low wage job with a mortgage and kids and you have 3 VCA bracelets on, you’re not fooling anyone haha, I agree with you guys. But I’m sure people look at me (a student, who dresses casually, often no makeup, usually in scrubs 😂), and think my stuff is fake. But that’s fine, I probably don’t fit their usual image of someone who wears expensive designer jewellery 😂 but it won’t stop me wearing any of it 💓

this is my stack today 👀 sorry if it’s basic as fuck 😂😂
Nooo I love your stack and it’s not too OTT, just one of each looks lovely!
But don’t you find it annoying that so many people are wearing fakes of those exact items now? I mean obviously you know yours are real and you probably don’t care what others think, but it must be a bit galling that these items are faked all over the place at the moment.

I bought this in Italy in black. It’s an Italian brand. Not designer.

I was planning to buy a Loewe basket but I decided I would rather treat myself to a Celine Triomohe bag or Chanel WOC at the end of the year.
Having another baby on the way so felt it was unjustified for a bag I would only use on holidays.
I’ll admire them at a distance and probably regret my decision. 🤣
I will always recommend the Loewe baskets 😆❤

How are they on, are they comfy?
Only had them on when I tried them but they appear to be - so far so good! They fit well too, true to size if anyone is thinking of getting them. I’m a bit in love with all things Celine rn😍

Probably not the real deal (but who knows - base marks would indicate pre-2007 with the Vero cuoio on) but got for my friend in a charity shop yesterday (I am absolutely not of the foot size for such wares 😆). Stitching etc all looks good so if they are fakey then they're decent ones lol

Semi-affluent area (I've had Birkenstock & North Face from there before) but £7.50, who cares 😆 its run by older persons too. She always wanted a pair so...here ya go love.

I need some advice.... I have some spends at Aspinal, so do I get the functional work bag (which would fit my laptop...save me carrying a fugly laptop bag round) or the absolutely not needed but adorable clutch?

Options:

Love that clutch! I am obsessed with raffia 😍
A tote is useful but I have to say, so are clutch bags especially in summer when you just need your phone keys and a lipstick
ETA - clearly I don't have kids, this is from a childless perspective haha

I use mine every day, I keep a few cards, change, a hair bobble and some receipts in there. It’s sooo useful to just grab and go since it’s attached on my keys!
My mum uses hers to keep her parking tickets in if she’s nipping to the shops without faffing with her purse, another little use! She also says it’s handy in the gym because she puts her AirPods in there.

Do any of you like fine jewellery and watches? I don’t know where to begin and would like to own some classic pieces other than the typical Cartier and van cleef pieces.
I love fine jewellery, I own Cartier and van cleef pieces but also like lesser known brands such as Messika, Boucheron, chaumet, chopard…what pieces are you most interested in?

No, it was you that enabled me into the Celine one! I’m easily enabled tbf😂

how good would a tattle shopping trip be?😂😂
Someone definitely enabled me first with a blue Celine 😆. Oh we'd be bankrupt in half an hour. Be so much fun though!

This thread is also the reason Cartier took a big chunk of change off me 😆. I do wear that ring everyday though!

I’ve joined the fan club ☺ question for the ladies who own the Loewe baskets - I brought this bag (smallest size) from harrods in person and they didn’t give me a box just a dust bag. Did yours come with a box? I’m underwhelmed I didn’t get one as I’d like to store in a cupboard boxed up when not being used.
