Speaking of sunglasses, has anyone ordered from Pretavoir? I gather they’re really an online optician, but you can order sunglasses with normal non prescription lenses… it’s the only place I can find a Chanel pair I wish I bought last year, but not sure how they’d turn out lens wise, and also they’re much cheaper than normal retail, so I’m suspicious….

I bought some Ray Bans from there and they were fine. Also, the reviews on Trust Pilot are good (the last time I looked anyway which TBF was maybe last year)

Does anyone have anything from the Van Cleef Alhambra collection? Just having a peek for a gift and either I have a fat neck (never had an issue before) or the chains are quite short? Unsure if the measurement on the website is for the ‘biggest length’ E.g if you fastened it on the loosest clasp or not. Like the necklace would fit but just wouldn’t really hang where I want

I have the sweet Alhambra pendant and the 5 motif Alhambra bracelet. Tbh the necklaces have 2 settings and the shortest one is more of a “choker” style in my opinion (or very short necklace). It’s not uncomfortable, but it is quite short. Hence why I went for the sweet style, so I could layer it. On the longer clasp it’s fine, it’s just like a normal necklace length x

if I had the vintage Alhambra pendant I wouldn’t wear it on the shortest setting. Which stone are you looking at?

I want Orans (black ones I think, as the tan ones might not suit me) but I have quite wide feet, so on the advice of a youtube video I watched, I’m expecting to size up half or whole or really whatever size is gonna fit! This is why I personally cannot buy shoes online (unless I had already tried them on in store).

Following this as I ‘need’ some white Orans in my life. I’ve resisted so far but have come to realise that it’s futile No idea on sizing. I have quite narrow feet. Do they run true to size?

I'm soooo tempted to cut off my nano speedy straps too as I want to use it as a top handle sometimes! But I don't have a detachable strap to use. It sits OK as a cross body though as I'm quite small and short.

Has anyone been to the Tiffany's exhibition?

You can buy a detachable strap from LV, they come in many sizes. The bag sits right above my hip which is what I prefer but I feel like it slightly sticks out and I just want it to sit flat but oh well.

Yes, I bought a Boy bag at Paris CDG in February and it was a lot cheaper! I did pay an exchange rate charge on my credit card though but it was still a saving on the UK price.

for my english ladies who have made purchases from french designer brands such as Chanel, ysl and Louis Vuitton in Europe. Is it cheaper than the U.K. (bearing in mind the currency exchange rate)?
I want the goyard gm and a Louis Vuitton bag and will have a mini weekend away in Paris in December so might hold of until then if I can save abit on price.

Has anyone on here ever had any LV bag repaired? My stepmum gave me an old LV bucket bag of hers (a Noe I believe), about 15 years ago. She'd already had it for ages at that point & she'd had the base leather and the tie replaced, but not the shoulder strap. Now the leather doesn't match... and although I don't actually really like the bag, I'd like to know what the experience of trying to get it repaired, in the UK, might be like... or do I just leave it in its dust bag in my wardrobe and occasionally look at it, wondering what to do with it

This might be a situation more related to buying and selling but wanted to ask here because people seem very knowledgable! I recently sold a designer bag on eBay, it was rejected by the eBay authenticator. I’m outraged because I have the receipts from Selfridges and on a side note I have doubts about how reputable the authenticator eBay uses is. So the buyer wants to purchase outside of eBay, I think she really likes the bag. So my question is, do you know if there are risks to me as a seller if I have the money before posting the bag?
I know many people buy off Facebook groups, so I’m assuming this is how it works?!

Did you purchase it yourself from selfridges?

I would request the money through bank transfer. Then there should be no risk to you.

Could anyone tell me whether Aquazzura shoes are comfortable please? My daughter is getting married next year and I’m desperate to buy the pumps with the bow detail at the back 🫣. I bought a pair of Jimmy Choos for my son’s wedding a few years ago and they were really comfortable so not sure whether to buy another pair of choos or run the risk of being in agony all day ‍… Thank you

I have a pair of aquazzura sandals, they’re comfortable but they’re only 85mm I’ve not tried the style you’re thinking of getting. I’d say they’re on par in terms of comfort, with Jimmy choos

You need to go to an official retailer and put your name on a list for the watch you want. Each retailer only gets x-amount of watches and it normally takes about 2 years before you can buy one. Rolex are trying to regulate the price gouging and there are strict measures in place when buying new.

We’re on multiple lists in Canada and the US and nothing yet
