So I went for damier ebene in the end... Tried monogram as well but wasn't drawn to it and if you don't love it from the start then you'll never reach for it. I do really love the DE print so it's difficult to move away from it! Here's a few photos, including the DE line-upI'm gonna pick up the mini pochette accessories at the end of the month (leaving a job from hell and rewarding myself - wish I did it before the price increase) and deciding between monogram and damier ebene. My most used bag is also damier ebene so is it overkill to have the pochette in DE?!
I'm not a huge fan of monogram for bags, although it does look good on the smaller items. But wondering if I should switch it up a bit so it's not all matchy matchy. Opinions welcome!

This is just a random depoper who I don’t follow so can’t be bothered to edit out the name but do let me know if I should- Louboutin red soles seem to get trashed so quickly? Don’t think I’ve ever seen a secondhand pair for sale without messed up soles, she says she’s worn these once. Most are worse

Some people get them resoled, or a cobbler can put a new sole on them that is red but with better grip. I’ve done that on a couple of my pairs
Revisiting the 30th b-day treat (luxury jewellery). I was at one point considering Messika, but no local stockists here. I had the best service at Van Cleef but I don't suit the dainty feminine look of the Alhambra, and I haven't found any designs leaning more modern and unisex. I'd also want basic pieces that can be worn without normal people batting an eye if I'm in casual. Work-wise, I don't wear jewellery except my earrings, and that's for safety reasons. Yes, I can ask a jeweller to make a custom piece but that's not really what I want.
I also love the Tiffany T and Hardwear lines but not on my list. I've decided that I should be looking to add a piece to the JUC ring I own in PG and Tiffany is out because I prefer those in YG.

- Chanel Coco Crush Small ring - one of the first rings that caught my eye because of the quilt design. I like Chanel bags but they don't suit my style. However, I am a ring girl and I like their beige gold. It would go on the opposite hand though.
- Cartier JUC small - Love the regular but the clasp mechanism is hard to put on yourself and the price is more than I'd like to spend on a single piece of jewellery. I like the look of a solid metal nail bangle, so diamond isn't really on my list. The small has the twist mechanism that I'm unsure about, because I'm worried about it becoming misshapen if I'm not careful. Does it make sense to have a matching bracelet?
- Bvlgari B zero1 necklace - Considering it in rose gold. I like the simplicity of it. A necklace seems more versatile with all seasons of dress.

I wear rings most times off work.
I feel the same way about bvlgari jewellery too. It's not the place I'd look first. I'll have to try on the JUC bracelet with the ring and see if I like the matching look. I might reconsider Messika but it's something that I'd have to source online and I can't actually see and try on in person.
Do you guys think Chanel is still worth buying? (In your opinion). I.e. would you buy Chanel bags at the current prices? Whenever I look preloved I feel like they’re either the same or very close to the cost of a new Chanel, or they are very overpriced. It’s so expensive now but I just love Chanel 
In the sense that the Chanel classic core collection will always be timeless yes. But I would only consider pieces that would look just as classic in ten/fifteen years time. I would never consider a fashion colour or an on trend piece but that’s my rule for designer bags anyway. However I do think they are becoming out of reach for most people. Ten years ago they were expensive but they were achievable if you really wanted one and were willing to properly save. I think it’s sad they’ve priced out almost everyone.
If you’re going to invest now, make sure it’s classic and it’s one you’re going to wear forever.
I bought a few 10+ years ago and they’ve worn pretty well, I have had ALOT of colour wear off of the hardware (for example I need a new c clasp and chain on my maxi and new c clasp on my cerf) which is definitely going to cost a bit to repair.
I wore through my Chanel wallets pretty quickly (2-3years of daily wear and tear).
I would recommend sticking with caviar, and I was told years ago to stay away from the boucle bags.
I’ve heard the quality has taken a hit over the years, so if you can get a good condition vintage bag that could be a good option.
Honestly I’m not too sure, as it’s verging into Hermes territory with the new prices . If you are in love with Chanel, buy now as they’re only going to get more expensive. Chanel bags? Not worth buying imho. If you love it and it makes your heart sing, then you go get it girl. For me, Chanel's designs don't do it for me. I've only ever admired those bags because I see it on people I admire (celebs, influencers). Inspecting the bags myself, they don't give that spark of joy.

i prefer woc & seasonal pieces, still overpriced but not as extreme as those classic, as long as it has a flap & cc logo on it.
many people go for mini flaps.
i bought this messenger bag last month, around gbp3700. similar price to mini flap.
size is almost as medium flap. the interior (incl zip pocket) has pressed diamond pattern.

Has anyone on here ever had any LV bag repaired? My stepmum gave me an old LV bucket bag of hers (a Noe I believe), about 15 years ago. She'd already had it for ages at that point & she'd had the base leather and the tie replaced, but not the shoulder strap. Now the leather doesn't match... and although I don't actually really like the bag, I'd like to know what the experience of trying to get it repaired, in the UK, might be like... or do I just leave it in its dust bag in my wardrobe and occasionally look at it, wondering what to do with it
You could sell it on a pre loved website and use the money to get something you prefer, LV are so much more expensive now than they were 10 years ago. I have! Just drop it into an LV store, they’ll give you a rough quote and then it goes off to France for repair. Can take around 3-4 months to come back though. For just the shoulder strap you’re probably looking at £200-£300 (based purely on what I had repaired on one of mine).Has anyone on here ever had any LV bag repaired? Worth noting though that if the repairs your stepmum had done weren‘t done by LV I don’t think they’re keen on touching the bags after that, but there are other places that would work on it.
As @RR20 has just said, you could always sell it on (if it’s not sentimental of course!) - the Noe is very popular in the resale market.
Edited to add if you’re not near an LV store you can email pictures then post the bag to a store and they will quote for the repair. If you’re not happy they send it back to you.
Thank you & thank you too @RR20 I think I'll start off with an e-mail with photos, in that case. I'd feel bad about selling it, even though I never use it and stepmum hasn't seen it for years... I never used the Prada bag she gave me either, I did sell that and she has never asked if I use it. I doubt she remembers which bits of her collection she gave me. Maybe I'll learn to like the LV...

i wasn't planning to buy anything that day, just wanted to go in and see the new collection.
i'm 5ft 9, woc strap length is perfect for me. mini flap strap is too short.
the white bag i got has adjustable strap (very rare on chanel), shortest i can do a long shoulder, longest i can also do crossbody.
those micro bags can't fit anything are overpriced trend, i dont recommend if that's your only chanel
