Costume/fashion jewellery - yay or nay?

I kinda like the LV Blooming Strass necklace for everyday wear, but wonder if the bright yellow gold is a bit tacky looking.

Can someone please ID MBB's earrings here?

cheetham hill do fakes that are cheap as hell. If it wasn’t so dodgy I’d be buying some and comparing them to the real ones I have.

I put up the boxes / dust bags for my wedding shoes for sale this morning and they’ve gone already 🤣 £30 someone’s offered 🤷🏽‍♀️. just on the discussion of selling on boxes last thread.

i sold a few a few years ago, the woman was selling lots of her bits and she said she can get a few hundred more if she has the boxes / dust bags. I was moving home from australia so was getting rid of them all anyway so was actually a win for both of us.

Yeah it's a decent little earner 🤣 I could get a few quid for my cartier ring box etc but...they're so pretty lol and IF I ever decide to sell the ring then be worth more with the box. I'm keeping my little LV bag/box my coin purse came in too lol but one day...who knows

I used to know someone who had a Cheetham Hill Burberry scarf and kept comparing it to my real one, it did my head in. It didn't look anything like the real one, not only the pattern but the material was atrocious.

Yeah I guess from far off they don’t look too bad, but the quality must be rubbish. No way would it have the same detail and stiches

Ohhh noooo, don't sell the boxes and carry bags. It's how people get duped into buying fake bags because the seller puts a fake bag in a genuine box and carrier, it happened to someone I know and she was devastated but also confused how the box and bag were genuine but the handbag wasn't.

That is good for a bit of cardboard. I’ve just got a few things on eBay at the moment like dresses I’ve worn once and it stresses me out 😆

I remember sitting at a bar with my black Birkin and the lady next to me had an ‘inspired’ version (it had decorative holes along the top 🙄) and when I placed mine on the bar top she said ‘snap’! 😂

This.
I have every carrier bag that my Hermès boxes came in. I would never sell them and actually thought it wasn’t allowed by eBay.

people buy anything on there. Yet try selling something decent and you can’t even sell. I had a vintage coach pram, someone offered me £20 😂😂 . I’ve put it in storage instead

I can’t do eBay at all. I prefer the Facebook pages! For a quick sale I go to the pre loved designer shops but you definitely get less than if you were to sell them yourselves.

I've got/kept all my bigger designer bag boxes/bags etc. And plan to keep if I need to sell the items they come with lol

Ebay now has a (I think) £300+ authentication thing, NO idea how legit it is, but if folk are buying certain bags for less....it should signal alarm bells (Vinted is goddam rife at the moment for scammers still so I've come off it). I keep to the resellers (LP etc) for preloved.

I have actually bought some packaging online for like Pandora when I was selling my bracelet & charms off (binned all mine lol) and they sold for alot higher than without. Its a shame there's a select bunch who ruins...well everything for everyone else though 😪

@Its_Me That would be amazing if you could🥰. I'm a bit overwhelmed by googling and our regular insurer refuses to cover them!
Not that user but you just need to find an insurer that will run your application past an actual underwriter rather than the algos. Direct line have for us, failing that there are more specialist brokers who can find you specialist policies with major insurers - we used AJ Gallagher for a unique buildings situ, so not sure what their contents offering is like but they’re great on the phone so worth a quick call?
