I just don't understand this anymore. It's such a contradiction to me that brands like Dior gives influencers all their stuff for free (and it has been A LOT the last few years and increase their prices at the same time. If people are influenced to buy Dior items based on what they saw on socials, but then see the prices increasing and increasing, would anyone still buy a bag that they know is overpriced? Seems like a lose-lose for Dior because they give their stuff away but the return on investment won't be high because the majority of people cannot justify spending so much money on their items? It's not like it would really impact them financially, but still at some point people reach their max on what they want to spend on certain items right

I honestly can't bring myself to buy anything from Dior for this reason...I've never been a huge fan anyway fortunately but seeing their extravagant gifts to influencers all the time really puts me off, the price increases seem to literally be balancing out gifts to people who can more than afford it

I'm going to say something controversial but I'd rather spend a grand on a good rep than give that sort of money to chanel. One of the straps on my Gabby wasn't good from the start and they wouldn't do anything for me.

Oh no! I fear I may have played a part in that enabling, I’m a saddo and only use mine for ‘best’ I use my Soho for the daily battering! I also left my sticker on the metal for ages then took it off.
I was enabled into buying a WOC and wish I’d got a mini flap too - for the extra it would’ve been worth it. Now I think I’m priced out so no enabling from me (unless I’m in an airport somewhere )

Haha this thread DEFINITELY had a huge influence on my cartier ring purchase but I love it still (and wear it everyday so probably buggering it up) but I'd had some inheritance and wanted to get something super special. Plus the shop experience was incredible

Chanel really is so hit and miss. I just can’t get over the price increase more than Hermes before the end of the year . I’m hoping to go and pick my Kelly up this weekend something I’ve been dreaming of owning for sooooo very long. I have quite a few Chanel bags but I will not be in any rush to buy a new Chanel bag in the near future. I know it’s not just Chanel and they all put prices up but to this extent is ridicules.

I took my broken bag back to Chanel bond st they were a bit more helpful and went off to see if the chain could be replaced there and then but they didn’t have any champagne gold one available so it’s been sent off to repairs and I’ll get it back jan 15th.

Anyone else sick of brands copying designer brands like VCA and making fake look-alikes? I keep seeing people wearing fake VCA Vintage Alhambra’s, coupled with people like Molly-Mae making everything look cheap and it just takes away from how special they are. Does that make sense?
