I have had a few conversations with Deborah over the years as my brother had metastatic bowel cancer and we discussed her treatments - there's no way my brother would have been able to jog/run to get his treatments
sadly my brother died 2 years ago and didn't have access to the numerous treatment options/ access to clinical trials she has been able to get due to living near the Marsden...unfortunately it's not a level playing field when it comes to cancer and is very much postcode lottery
Im very sorry for your loss, treatment shouldn’t be a postcode lottery.

Also, not enough emphasis on the five star treatment she has due to being private. One of the cocktail of drugs she is on is known to be effective but is not available on the NHS. Another member of the bowel community reached the end of what the NHS could do and started crowd funding for this drug but died shortly afterwards. I know she talks about being an outlier and I gather some of her data is being used to show efficacy of certain drugs presumably to help gain approval but it would be great if she could use her platform to highlight the inequity.

She’s also got very good private healthcare. I honestly think that’s given her so much longer. If she needs a scan/treatment etc she gets itstraight away, we all know time is the biggest threat when dealing with cancer. As someone else said, take the cancer away and many would find her intolerable. I remember her being totally inappropriate a few times on The Big C podcast, always with men, always making innuendos.

So sorry to hear you lost your brother to this awful disease. I very often thought about how she ran to hospital, danced in the chemo ward, drank copious amounts of alcohol (even with a tumour in her liver) and still managed to “work”. I used to think I must be weak and soft for not doing the same. Then I realised it’s all smoke and mirrors - like most other influencers you don’t get the full story. I didn’t realise she had private health care until I read on here. I also followed kickasskell (bowel cancer) until she very sadly passed and I was always surprised at the how there was no comparison (treatment wise and effects) Between her and bowelbabe. I know people can have very different experiences with the same disease but bowelbabe seems to have superpowers.

So true. Having money makes all the difference.

I do think she absolutely loves herself too. The pouting is 🤢.

Absolutely adores herself. I have never seen such preening or pouting in my life. And don’t get me started on the whole Wimbledon farce. Such bragging and boasting. Seriously.

I wish I had the confidence that she (and many other influencers) obviously has. I still don’t understand how a grown woman can pose and pout to their camera and then share it with the world. Baffling! If I did that my hubby would be “what the hell are you doing?!”.

I still feel quite angry about the whole Wimbledon show to be honest. You cannot be at death’s door then go to Wimbledon dressed head to foot in RL. Why could she not offer the tickets to someone who could never afford the tickets (like me 😂). No, she took her millionaire hubby and her two kids instead even though she had already been to Wimbledon twice that week.

I’m beginning to lose what sympathy I had for her to be honest.

Didn't realise she was private. She sells herself as champion of the NHS !! Checked and no mention of private in newest column

Then became really ill with an infection….No tit Sherlock! moaned about having no visitors when football was allowed ( yes and Wimbledon which she was at) and threw a strop until they allowed her mum in!

That’s the bit that annoys me. Goes on about how amazing the NHS (I do agree) and the difficulty they are having with treatments for cancer, yet she is private and doesn’t have the worry of waiting and hoping she’ll be seen.

Definitely private. My friend was having private treatment at the Marsden a few years back and she saw her there a few times. My friend had private insurance through work. She was stage 4 too. Sadly she died after six months of being diagnosed.

Why has she never mentioned the private treatment? She was on stories to with limitlessEm. I wonder if she is a private patient too? Another one who had made a living from her disease. Stop with the bloody dancing! If I had done that at the Christie when I had chemo they would have sectioned me!!! 😡

I used to work in an oncology unit and I'd be pretty hacked off if a patient decided to pratt around dancing after id spent ages carefully cannulating them and then injecting them with a toxic cocktail of drugs which would wreck their veins if it extravasated ( yes I know Deborah has her chemo through an implantable port, but you wouldn't want to accidentally pull on that either!)

Absolutely! I want to know who takes the photos (on her phone) when she is asleep! She obviously was not asleep. Smoke and mirrors!

I'm so glad others see this!! I had to unfollow because I couldn't stand the prancing about and the general self absorbed/showing off behaviour.

I thought I was a bad person because she wound me up so much 🙈 Rachael bland was such a lovely, down to earth lady and seemed so genuine. I loved the podcast when she was on it. But Deborah is so up her own arse and only wants to talk about herself

Wading through the ads, the podcasts, the posh lifestyle etc. Followers are no doubt witnessing something deeply sad.
Cancer is such a cruel disease.
Extremely lucky to be receiving private care.

Is the Marsden one of the best cancer treatment hospitals in Europe?

Marsden is one of best in U.K./ Europe and only specialises in cancer care ( although Clatterbridge hospital in NW England also performs extremely well ) ....they also specialise in clinical trial therapies not available elsewhere in U.K.( phase 1 and 2 clinical trials - hence one of the reasons why Deborah has been able to get such specialised care, but these trials are not suitable for all cancer patients and being a private patient in this respect is no advantage, believe it or not, although the specialised radiotherapy she has been able to get is not so easily available on NHS, due to cost of equipment )
The Marsden pioneered cancer nursing care which is now a standard in many, if not most hospitals where there are oncology units
