Thank you for the heads up - would honestly have had to leave the cinema if I had went unknowingly!

Like I say, I knew there would be some dead dead content, but to me, it didn't feel as upbeat and light hearted as the other films.

I suppose it is 20+ years since the first and times have changed, and I have changed, but it felt far more sad than any others.

It is my dad’s birthday tomorrow. The third one without him. I still sometimes think he has gone away for a while and will be back soon. He died young, early 60s, in what could have been avoided. He was healthy too. It was a tragedy. He never got to meet my baby boy either, his first grandchild. Life is such a weird one. 😭

Sending you hugs. Please be kind to yourself this weekend.

I know the feeling of being “gone away”. It feels like this for me too as my dad was living abroad for a few years before his sudden death in his 60s. I like to think he’s still there with no phone battery.
We got engaged and bought a house since he passed almost two years ago and it feels hard to move on in life without him. So many things they have missed. It sounds whacky but I tell myself I’ll meet him again some place, some day, and I want to have lived a life that leaves me with enough stories to tell him about, and a life that he would be proud of. It’s the only thing that keeps me going some days.

my mum died suddenly 10 months ago. the panic attacks lately have been so bad. my brain feels quite jumbled and forgetful. I get really panicked and scared of dying too. I am still struggling with sleep and last night I had a terrible night of fear and panic. It's just not getting any better it's getting worse. The thought that she's been gone nearly a year is surreal and frightening. I am really struggling to know what to do to stay calm and get through this. I am not crying as much just getting panic attacks.

Sorry to hear this. It is such a horrible time. How about going to the GP or trying grief counselling?

Oh you poor thing, go to your GP. Do you have anything that takes you out of it, even if just for an hour. Going for a run, going for a pint, or a bath? Just change the scenery helps me.

It's a bleeping shitshow - my parents died the best part of a decade ago and I've been suffering from what I can only describe as repetitive grief depression ever since. I just cannot seem to shake it, my parents were good people and they definitely wouldn't have wanted to see me like this - but it's like I just can't help it.
It was one of their anniversaries last month and I just couldn't get the music from their funeral out of my head

I understand this completely. It’s bloody hard and exhausting isn’t it. My mum would hate how much I still struggle with my grief for her but then I have to tell myself that I do what I can and that’s ok.

A customer today was moaning about something completely out of our control and then said "I guess I will just have to rely on bank of dad then" she was in her 60s.

I wanted to say well good for you as my dad's dead, but obviously didn't.

Like dont be so ungrateful. My dad died when I was 30.

I went on holiday last week, and I would always ring my Dad to say we'd got there, and send him lots of photos. I had one really wobbly day which just seemed to come from nowhere. It's always there, grief, waiting to knock you back down again :(

I'm so sorry. I had all of this too - the night time panic attacks were absolutely petrifying and the jumbled up brain forgetfulness. It's so strange. I had to go to two different GPs before I got the medication I needed to help. Could you try your doctor (as suggested above)? I really had to push myself to go but was eventually glad I did. If you are chronically sleep deprived it makes it all so much harder to manage.

Hi everyone! Pleased to have spotted this thread. 🩷

I lost my mum 5 years ago this year, in September 2020. I was 26 at the time, she was 53. She was (and still is) my whole world. She was diagnosed in 2019 with breast cancer, had chemo and radiotherapy. We were told January 2020 she had the all clear. Then in May she was told it had come back. By the August she was in a hospice 💔 Because of covid the visiting was limited and made the end of her life that extra level of complicated.

I miss her every minute of everyday. I didn’t think I’d survive without her but yet I am still here. I’m so close with my siblings which is a blessing and my husband is so supportive. Without them I’d have struggled to keep on going.

I even survived getting married without her being there which I never thought I’d cope with. It was hard but I got through it because I know it’s what she’d want for me.

Also to add we lost my stepdad in 2015 from bowel cancer and the 5 years after he passed my mum struggled so much with grief. Life can be so cruel.

Sending love to you all. Happy to have found this corner of the internet xx

I did not need to do this as my brain is an odd one, but my dear uncle did a bit of a ritual throwing the ashes of our loved one in the place they wanted it to rest in peace forever. It was very healing for him and now he goes to "the spot" of the ashes to say hi a few times a year.
Sometimes we need a ritual to provide ourselves with closure, like writing and burning a letter, donating items, printing our favourite pictures...

Eight years today since I lost my mum. A weird day. I miss her every day, nothing different happens on this day, but somehow it’s got a huge weight attached to it 💔
And of course, the ever lonely feeling of knowing that there are probably only a handful of other people who know what day it is, and all those “love you, here for you, so sorry for your loss” people who were there for the first couple of weeks when she died have long forgotten 💔

So sorry for your loss @BonBon27 🩵
The anniversaries are so hard. Look after yourself today. On the anniversary of my Mum’s passing I like to do something that she loved, like buying fresh flowers!
Was there anything your mum loved?X

I bought some daffodils yesterday as she loved those, and my husband bought me a beautiful bunch of roses this morning as they were her favourite. I’m having lunch with my sister soon, which I’m sure mum would have come along to if she were here. Thank you 🩷

My mum died 8 years ago in May.
Daffodils were her favourite. I have a tattoo of daffodils in her memory.

I recently got my first tattoo and got my late dads signature as a tribute to him
