You are married to a successful working actor, he isn’t waiting tables inbetween filming his audition tapes, presumably you have access to his money and if you don’t, then maybe look at why you are still with him. If you can’t live within your means that’s a you being an old soak problem.

She’s aged out of the girl next door saucy ladette-light makes fluffy docs image. I think that’s the real problem.

She is a successful novelist, married to a moderately successful actor/writer. I'm sure that doesn't bring wealth beyond dreams and she is not the most well off of her friendship circle, but something's very wrong with their money management if they are on the breadline. If they are living hand to mouth, it likely says more about their financial sense than their financial reality.

I won’t be paying. I very much doubt she got the deal due to being married to a movie star. She doesn’t use his name and a lot of people know her from other things.
She currently only has one book released and it’s quite well written, I’ll be interested to read her new book. I found Giovanna Fletchers books to be hard to read as they really are not my thing, but fair play for putting something of your own out there.

I like Dawn but she can fuck right off with that Patreon. Of course she's entitled to her own income, but she already must have a very good income from her books and writing career. Not to mention Chris O'Dowd's vast income. How much money do two people need?

I didn’t say I’d pay, but I can’t see anything wrong with what she’s doing. As I understood it this is part and parcel of her writing career. It’s a bit sexist to suggest she shouldn’t generate her own income but just live off her husband.

Same argument was made with Amanda palmer. She’s married to Neil gaiman yet she uses Patreon. I fast went off her when she bullshitted her experiences living in New Zealand during the lockdown.

Did you read Dawn's book where she covered lockdown? Absolutely unrelatable. To sum it up, her and Chris were either drunk or stoned

There never seems to be that many people at Flackstock, yet plenty of celebs having a big freebie none more so than Dawn herself!

It just doesn't seem to take off and I'm not surprised. The event feels like a hybrid between a private memorial for her mate (who was utterly marmite as a person, especially at the end) and a public music festival. It doesn't really work and consequently, she ends up giving away the tickets to influencers and the Flack friendship group.

The Patreon issue is complex. Ultimately I see it as a antidote to influencer culture. Instead of consuming ‘free’ content where the person is paid by brands to shill products in sponsored content of varying frequency, Patreon offers a model where you can pay the person directly, leaving them with a steady-ish income stream and they can produce content free of commercial pressure.

This is how I view it. I’m happy she’s going down this route as it gives us the consumers a choice. As others have said here I won’t be paying for her content but I’m sure others will and at least then she doesn’t have to turn her page into QVC like so many others have. I would hope it could lead to better content for everyone.

Love it when she talks about how healthy she eats and how they don’t do gluten or dairy then talks about how much exercise she does then at the end says she won’t be posting for a few days as her friend is coming to stay and she’ll be drinking loads of wine!

I remember a few of her lives on Instagram when her and Chris were extremely drunk! She definitely loves a drink!

After her clap back on previous video in yesterdays she had to brag her publisher was trying to get hold of her as she has two books coming out this year 🥱

Me again ! Because I viewed her stories earlier she keeps showing up on my FYP.

Sad Joanie Clothing is no more but her stories about it made me laugh! She got everything for free and when she did her clothing range with them all her mates got stuff for free and Joanie are known for gifting to Influencers, so maybe that was their downfall? But Dawn definitely never bought a thing from them.

I went to see The Book of Mormon a few weeks ago and Chris O'Dowd was there looking haggard as fuck. I'd just watched his episode in the latest series of Black Mirror so was pretty traumatised to see him to be honest Dawn wasn't there that I could see

The joanie dresses look so heavy - terrible timing to release them in the summer. I used to like Dawn but then she started spouting that she didn’t want to write for free anymore and people should be supporting her on Patreon she lost me then. I’m also not a fan of her carting her pets from LA to London but that’s just me.

People talk about Chris being a millionaire by now, but of course Dawn herself is a millionaire in her own right. Like or loathe her books (I was NOT a fan of The Cows) she is a bestselling author a few times over. She's independently wealthy.

Fair fucks to her and all, but does she think we're actually dense and don't realise?

They sold that tiny bungalow for $1.8 million, doubling their money, and bought a very fancy 5 bedroom for 2 million+.

But it's all "lolz, so relatable, amirite?" and COME ON.
