Not sure if this counts / is absolutely insane, but I’ve been considering making my own kitchen cupboard handles using jesomite or coloured concrete…..?! We’ve got horrific knobs that aren’t a standard size so a nice 1:1 replacement isn’t possible without doing something to the doors, and I have major #reno fatigue now.

Has anyone worked with these materials?

Glad you are giving knitting a go, are you using straight needles or circular? I can't use straight ones I find them so uncomfortable and never managed to knit anything on them, then I discovered circulars and find it sooo much easier.

Have you thought about trying to make granny squares? You might find working rounds easier to get the hang of?

yes i cant get as far as working into the chain.. thats where it just looks like a knotted mess to me

You will get there! How lovely for your niece to have something you’ve handmade for her . Honestly, the amigurumi really does cramp your hands as it’s all sc with a smaller hook. I’m going back to blankets haha

Thank you, the idea was to keep up with the magazines as they come out so I could give it to her on her 4th bday, I might need to go like crazy to get it done for then now

It all looks so cute as well the amigurumi, I might wait till I've gotten better with normal crochet first an see, I could see my patience running out quickly with such a small project

Does anyone make their own clothes here?

I'd love to try and make some clothes for my toddler, I got a nice sewing machine for Christmas and so far have made the front of a quilt (tiny, made it completely the wrong size, it's wonky and I hate it so haven't put it on any padding or backing yet) and a Happy Birthday bunting banner. I just have no idea where to start :/

Your local parks and recreation or community college should have classes.

I’ve given it a google and it may make more sense for us to use precut stickers on a roll… and a custom stamp? They don’t seem that badly priced tbf and I think the ink on paper will feel more premium than a photosensitive paper thing? Has anyone done this before, wondering if the stamps are too good to be true as they’re really not badly priced?!

I loveeee this brand so much!

I brought colour pegs from Etsy of every colour, so I can swap and play with palettes before buying the yarn.

My idea behind it was, I’d be buying less yarn because I can pick the exact colours I want together. (It didn’t work but the thought was there right?!)

I should really make some of my own, I've probably had at least half the colours, but I just buy them at random now, you can't really go wrong can you .

I've just finished 175 pieces for a blanket that started with "leftover" colours but of course I've had to buy more...

I'm considering getting a sewing machine so I can try and make my LO some clothes. I've used sewing machines before and am confident with a bit of trial and error I could make something passable but I was wondering if anyone who sews clothes can tell me where you find fabric that isn't really light cotton?

I've been working on a crochet tote bag for the last 2 weeks and I've finally finished. I'm so proud of it as its the first time I've followed a proper pattern and actually finished it i even made a lining with my very limited sewing skills, though had my mum help a bit with the sewing machine as I'm uselessView attachment 4074456

I followed the lovable hoops channel, managed to make the owl hat they done an I was just starting, also used the Bella Coco channel am sure it's called for learning beginner things

I will admit the Bella Coco one was good for the chain but this was the one I WAS following for the actual stitch and though I follow her slowly and carefully it looks kinda like a knot to me and IDK if I am doing it right cos not sure what it's meant to look like

Oh that’s very sad. I remember when her daughter had a brain tumour which she sadly didn’t survive

I've now gotten the hang of crochet and have finished a neck warmer and a headband, and I'm working on a blanket and a project bag.

I've started learning to knit. I can do an English knit cast on and a knit stitch but struggling with purling. I really want to make knit and crochet garments this year, will persevere.

Your diamond painting must've taken you hours to do! It looks so festive. Do you frame them once finished?
The stained glass pieces are lovely. I'd love to try making a stained glass piece.
