Has anyone got a sticker maker at home? Preferably one that could do nice quality Kraft paper style rather than tacky ones? Their intended use is just for fun, baking bread & wild garlic butter for friends, but I’d love it if could look 🤌

I had one over twenty years ago. I can't remember the brand. There was a lot a waste of the sticky part depending on what size and shape your sticker was. I don't even know if refills are available anymore. I might have given it to Goodwill.
I'm sure new machines are much better. Let's see what people recommend.

I need to make a crochet blanket for a baby boy and found a pattern that I like but after showing my mum what I plan to make she said it’s a bit OTT
So, I’d like some opinions please, is my mum right and I should just do something a bit more plain? Any recommendations on a pattern would also be appreciated.View attachment 4057494

Oh i love that - it looks perfect and the colours are my cup of tea.

I'm doing a crafy fayre on Sunday - have all my stuff made just pricing up. I struggle so much with wanting to get a decent price for the work I've put in but also just want to sell some stuff!!

I’m really into creative journaling at the moment and love the company “Note and Wish” they’re closed at the moment for maternity leave so I wondered if anyone had any good small companies I can support? I’m specifically after stickers, more specifically the clear PET stickers. Help a girl out!

Also with crochet, I find some yarn is better than others for seeing your stitches, so if you are learning and trying to see the loops in the chains and stitches, then I recommend cotton yarn of a decent thickness, or a chunky acrylic one. Some of the natural wooly yarns are more difficult to see what you are doing, as a beginner.

thanks Emma.Like i said I had a mad moment of inspiration and thought of using the slightly bigger hook (than yarn called for ) I had and in a super light colour and it's much easier. I now have a several foot long chain lol. I will never actually use anything in creams and pinks etc cos i hate pale. pastelly colours but i's handy to get cheap wool to learn even if you end up trashing it quality wise.

I did ask at the group at work if i got bigger needles and bigger wool would it help and they were like NO..

I have never been able to get my head around stitches that need an increase then a decrease to make a shape, and the opposite in next row to complete it. It hurts my brain trying to do it

Oh it’s beautiful . I love looking at crochet blankets made of squares, not enough love to make one, but just enough to be like “damn”

i want to do blankets if i ever master crochet.. i'm fantastic at chains lol so did wonder ir i could just do a massive chain and then work into it side by side to make into a blanket that way hahah

I don't, but maybe look at the glue people use for making miniatures, as that would need to have a small nozzle and not be drippy ( although some glues are only for certain materials such as plastic so would have to check it was suitable for what you are making)

Are you meaning the models, I had looked at those ones but mostly all of them said they weren't any good for paper/cardboard which unfortunately a lot of the little miniature things are made off, the downside to the booknooks is it's a mixture of paper, cardboard, wood, plastic, metal so it's a struggle trying to find a glue that will cover it all that's also a tiny nozzle an isn't stringy

Hi, not sure if this has been posted or not

Am looking to getting into embroidery but I'd like to do designs on clothes, I see a lot of people use this fabric type sheet with the design on it then once done put it in water to wash away the sheet

How an where do I get these? Is it a thing or are people drawing/printing designs onto these sheets? Thanks

Yes- it looks like she’s travelled to Switzerland to go to an assisted suicide clinic (apologies if that’s not the right terminology). Terribly sad.

I went on IG and her post came up straight away - have had a cry. So much tragedy for one family - awful other crafters were making her life so hard.

Can anyone else relate? I have multiple stashes of yarn but can't get started on anything and have 3 WIPs lying around ...thinking of starting a scrap blanket to get rid odds and ends.

years ago the first time (LOL ) i wanted to start knitting I had the idea that anything other than basic at my age was too ambitious ( borne out by the fact I have several failed attempts at starting so i just thought the height of my ambition was scarves and sqaures to make into a blanket.. i started to collect different shades of blue. Ithink it must be a decade later and I still haven't learned how to even begin properly in knitting..

I get a bimonthly subscription box which has yarn and treats in it if that’s what you mean? It’s the only yarn I buy now, stopped buying but I enjoy the surprise of this one.

Doesn't have to be that one though. I have seen pictures of what people ended up with, a few people had really pretty yarn cakes ( expensive ones but with labels missing or in different languages), or lots of interesting colours and typres, and other people complaining because they got an entire bag of brown yarn.

Does anyone make their own clothes here?

I'd love to try and make some clothes for my toddler, I got a nice sewing machine for Christmas and so far have made the front of a quilt (tiny, made it completely the wrong size, it's wonky and I hate it so haven't put it on any padding or backing yet) and a Happy Birthday bunting banner. I just have no idea where to start :/

Tilly and the buttons is very good for beginner sewers. Very clear instructions. She has a book of children’s patterns. You download the patterns using the ISBN number of the book. The patterns are mini versions of her adult patterns.
