soooooooooo..... they got sick right 😐 like dead sick.

what I find more concerning is the UK’s decision. Big move casting even a fraction of doubt on the Great British vaccine they’ve gloated about for so long, and they ridiculed the EU for doing the same thing weeks ago.
it was jealousy, it was bitterness. Clearly not.
Hmm the EU have faffed in multiple directions around this vaccine. They've had AZ banned for multiple different age groups at different points - which shows they didn't actually have a clue about it.

Clearly nobody does if the U.K. are now following them, that’s the problem!

I'm only saying - I've seen a few people state "looks like the EU were right!" when ... no they blatantly weren't.

The numbers are so slim (so far! we'll see) of the number of blood clots, its hard to see how they could have caught this in trials.

I had my vaccine 13 days ago so feeling especially anxious right now. I’m 27 and only received the dose because I have very mild asthma and the doctors called me in.

I’ve suffered with health anxiety for the past 4 years and been in therapy 3 times for it, CBT twice and then EMDR the final time which really made a difference and I’ve been able to rationalise health concerns much, much better over the past year. However I feel as though I’m spiralling massively today, as getting the vaccine was such a huge deal for me and all of my fears.

Literally the one thing I kept saying to my husband was ‘I’m just scared that something will happen to me later on down the line as a result of it’ and I even managed to rationalise that and go and get the jab done (albeit crying, but the doctor wasn’t fussed!). The news today just feels so heavy, and I’ve cried to the point of giving myself a headache and then worrying that it’s a symptom of a clot and then cried some more. This is all just a rambling but I wanted to share for anyone who is struggling today, anyone with similar anxieties.

I’m just trying to remember that I was at a much higher risk when I was on the pill and I took that without a care in the world.

I feel the same. I was chuffed to have my vaccine 3 weeks ago and I had the AZ. All of my family have had the AZ apart from one who had Pfizer. Now I’m worried sick I’ll end up with blood clot/

They were discussing this too ( as well as the thing I put on the other thread ) and they think the EU were quicker to discover it because they weren't using it on the older people to begin with because they thought the protection wasn't strong enough, where as the UK had rolled it out to the OAP's first .

Please try not to be. All the deaths came after the first jab. There is no cases where someone had the first one, was fine and then after the second one died. I am in my 30s and would happily take the AZ vaccine as soon as it was offered to me. The risk of moving around with no protection to covid is bigger than the risk of dying from a clot. The more of us vaccinated the more these incredibly low figures will get (lowest in 7 months despite testing many more people).

Alarming how they pushed the AZ Jab as this all singing all dancing amazing approved for use vaccine and kicked off when the EU didn’t want it because of the blood clot link. Carried on letting millions of the UK have it (me included) and now are halting use of it due to blood clot links. Arghhhhhhh this whole thing sucks. Fed up of COVID.

The difference is our motivation was based on data, whereas with the exception of the EMA, all the EU responses were based on trying to rubbish the AZ.

A further question being now that they will be saying 'ha ha AZ rubbish' will they be offloading all of theirs to countries that need it, given the way they decided to express 'being right' has made their populations even more vaccine hesitant than they already were and therefore have eff knows how many doses sitting on the shelves?

It's sad people have died but some perspective it's 19 deaths out of over 20 million doses handed out of it. So if you were in a room with a million other people one person in that room may die on average. Yet not having the jab we can have hundreds of deaths a day every single day. Jeremy Hunt has spoken about it and I hope others in their 30s like me (and those in the 40s) don't get put off taking a first dose of it if it's the one offered.

I don't know about the all singing all dancing, it was just put forward as one that worked and approved nand available.

The EU (leaders, commission, together or individual etc) didn't want it at the same time that they did want it and then approved and then de-approved and then re-approved and then not until later did they say anything about blood clots and the first reports of those were seriously over-scaremongered to make it sound like people were dropping like flies as soon as they walked out of the vaccination centres.

TLDR equally sick of it but remember the links to blood clots are in relation to crossing the road, rowing across a piranha lake etc are relatively speaking worth the gamble.

I don’t think that’s true the first red card went to Pfizer and the anaphylaxis, all risks should be reported no matter what county is responsible for the jab.
