These sorts of posts really help me. I have so much anxiety around the AZ vaccine at the moment. To put it in context I’m a very risk adverse kind of person and I get very anxious about lots of things. I do want to be vaccinated I just want to feel safe and not have it kick off extreme health anxiety. I know that some people won’t understand but I’ve made myself physically sick over health concerns before. I hate this pandemic!!!!!

A big decrease in infections, which is a good signal for deaths and hospital admissions. Deaths are up slightly probably due to a bit of a lag from being a bank holiday week.
I keep thinking this. I wonder how many women who will refuse the vaccine based on this blood clot risk are on the pill. Or men who are happy to let their OH’s take the pill for convenience despite its risks. Of course, everyone is allowed their opinion on what goes into their body - I’m not saying that happily taking the pill means that you can’t also be worried about this jab risk, but it is interesting.
It's unusual that the older you are the safer you are from something happening to you. Look at how the size of the circles get bigger as you get younger and become more at risk.

If someone was taking a particular kind of pill and then it started appearing in the media that there had been some new serious side effects with it no one would question them being worried about it and wanting to check with their Dr, but it feels a little bit like it’s not ok to question the vaccine. I had the AZ vaccine and I'm 20. I've had it for over 2 weeks, felt totally fine until today I read that: my body is now in panic mode and imitating every symptom of a blood clot, headache, shooting pains etc. But as soon as I calm down I know it will all go away. I hate hypochondria sooo much.

You’re right, the fact it’s new means that every development will be widely reported and scrutinised, even if those developments/discoveries are not worrying to medical professionals and are in line with existing situations/vaccines etc.I think it’s because it’s so new and there are headlines about it. Why under 30? Where is this link to age? I’m not worried about myself as I’m fully pfizered 
But my partner is 32 so he will probably get AZ when his time comes.... and he is not very fit, overweight etc
I know it’s such a small risk but there must be a real reason they have stopped them for under 30s despite saying for months that it’s fine!

As the graph further up shows it is under 30 when your risk from the vaccine is greater than your risk of being seriously ill from covid.Why under 30? Where is this link to age? I’m not worried about myself as I’m fully pfizered

They do say with low exposure risk. I imagine if you are 20-29 with a condition that makes you vulnerable you are better to take the AZ vaccine. Or if covid starts to circulate more again i.e. cases and hospitalisations rise, that risk v benefit may change.
Ah I see so it’s nothing to do with younger people getting blood clots - it’s because the risk of them getting a blood clot is still higher than them getting ill with covid. That’s kind of how they justify the risk of blood clots or increased risk of certain cancers from the contraceptive pill - they say the risk of complications if you fell pregnant is still higher than the risk of taking it...

Sorry to change subject from blood clots lol but anyone who has done a home PCR test and then sent it back via a royal mail postbox... what was your turn around time from when you ordered the test? How long until it arrived and then how long from you sending it off to getting the results??
I'm hoping they're a little quicker atm than they were in the peak but as I've never had to do it before I'm curious how long it'll take. I was hoping for results by Sunday but not sure if I'm being very optimistic hahah

Exactly. When i done my daughters last week it was sent off on the sat results received Tues evening
it was 48 hours for me from when I posted it.
The first time I ordered one it arrived within two days. Posted it on Sunday and got results on Tuesday so less than 48 hours.
The second time I ordered one it came the next day and again got results in less than 48 hours.
Looks like the EU were right, this is what happens when you fast track a vaccine.
