I think about this a lot too. If God forbid she died, her death wouldn't be down as Covid and she'd just be a number (not that's shes special or any different from anyone else before I get jumped for favouritism) imaging how many lives have been lost to Covis but after the 28 days. Also just seen that a minister said they needed time to prepare over hotel quarentine. I'm sorry but the first 2 recorded DEATHS, not even cases, were recorded in the UK over a year ago. How has every other country managed to do it? Even poorer countries like Cyprus can manage it, why is the UK so far behind all the time? And Rishi Shithead yesterday saying the scientists are moving the goalposts for lockdown. When have they ever listened to science?! Saying they want lockdown to end when the over 50s are vaccinated? A 7 year old died in the hospital near me yesterday. 7 YEARS OLD! He wouldn't have been having a vaccine any time soon. Screaming and squawking about kids mental health one minute and then basically admitting you dont care about them the next doesnt sit right with me. When has the government cared about mental health before? Or is it just now, when it can be used as a political and societal noose? Personally I want lockdown lifted as much as anyone, I'm suffering a tit tonne with my mental health but so what? Personally people being alive matters more, maybe better funding for mental health services would be a start? Not the blame game. I'd rather lockdown fully lifted, no restrictions, no limits etc. But when the time is right. A guarantee that what is happening is fine, not like October where they kept saying it was fine then all of a sudden it wasnt and it was the publica fault for doing what the government had asked, their 'duty' to pack into restaurants and pubs and shops. I haven't read this thread in a while,I've only come to ezpress how I feel because lord knows I cant do it at home.with my parents without a full on argument about how BoJo is dOiNg HiS bEsT. Sweetie, if this is his best, why is everyone not terrified. Anyway to the point, this may have been mentioned and I'm sorry about that too
I think about her a lot too. I hope she pulls through but I worry the longer she’s in a coma etc the worse she’ll be when she comes out the other end - like Kate Garaways husband. I haven’t seen any updates on Grace lately, understandably though I’m sure it’s not her families priority!

The scientists say if it’s lifted too soon we could be back to where we were within a fortnight
i think the press are just getting too carried away I don’t think Boris has any intention of lifting things early

The sun chat tit I’m sure we are all aware so don’t read into their articles 😂
Meeting outside is I’m sure what we were allowed to do first before? So not suprised that’ll be the next step but it won’t be after schools go back in March
Yeah we could meet people outside first and we’re allowed to travel (i.e the essential journeys) only bit was dropped. So no surprise this would be the first to come back this time.

I think Boris is a loose cannon if there's enough pressure put on him anything is possible .

What I linked about the other day is being reported again, so I take that as it's happening. We should soon at least outside as the weather starts getting warmer, be able to meet up inside a bigger group outside.
I'd freeze my tits off 🥶🥶

Over 50s by the start of May.......

At that point we really do need to get back to normal with no more restrictions. This mess has already gone on long enough. There has been more damage from covid through non covid reasons. Yes it's sad a seven year old died but it's so very rare and deaths happen it's everyday life and cannot be stopped.

I thought they were to focus more on tracing people with the emergence of the new variants

We were allowed to go with a walk for one person outside in June time, I remember as I met my bestie and we sat with some ciders on each end of a park bench and watched the sun setting

We are still allowed to meet one person outside even now aren't we?

Local authorities are doing it for them because they are useless. All of my environmental health dept are seconded into a new service.

From June 1st we were allowed to meet outside in a group of up to 6. I know because I met my friends in a local park and we got rather drunk and felt like we were in year 10 again haha.

Also meeting in gardens was allowed so you could go to bbqs 😊

That was only 2.5 months after lockdown 1 imposed so mid March would be around the same timeline, appreciate situation slightly different this time though.

The EU is in a mess at least three months behind us. Hopefully we are back to normal for May and can speed up things for the EU by helping them out. Greece want UK trade as early as May because they will miss out on it from other places that are behind.....

Just for 'exercise', I think, not loitering around socialising.

Loitering makes it sound so sinister 🤣

You can meet up with one person for a walk as that counts as exercise so I guess as long as you are walking whilst you are talking, you can socialise. I’ve not gone on a walk with anyone though as I’m hibernating 😅

I took my kids to the park the other day and two of my friends and their kids turned up and we hadn't actually arranged it!! Felt so naughty just chatting for an hour or so whilst the kids played. Probably banned, but it felt good.

I am sure at first you were only allowed to meet with one person, as I carefully chose who my one person was! Maybe it was May time then?

This outdoor meeting doesn’t seem enough of a lifting of restrictions. People are sick of eating at home, open the restaurants!

I don't mind the idea of vaccine passports, I am not going to entertain the conspiracy theories around them. However being fairly young and very low down in the priority list through no fault of my own, does this mean I won't be able to travel abroad this summer? Seems a bit unfair as I would happily pay for the vaccine to be vaccinated sooner if it was like the £12.99 flu jab!

Hopefully it’ll be better run if they’re focusing on a certain area instead of the country as a whole.

This is my issue with it! My 90 year old Nan will be able to fly before I will just because she’s been vaccinated even though I haven’t been offered?! People her age group aren’t exactly the ones jetting everywhere and keeping the travel industry afloat, it’s younger people. So I’m not sure how good of an idea it is really but like you I’d 100% pay for it if it meant I could get on holiday!
