The government continue to be out of touch. What's the point of pubs and restaurants opening without selling alcohol as they will lose money as why would you want to go.

Too much of the country is accepting of amy restrictions put on them, which makes it easier for those in power to keep people under control as there isn't unrest like in other European countries.

It’s like they don’t realise that the types of people who will go out and get smashed and ignore SD are all still meeting up to drink in each other’s houses? They’ve got their heads wedged firmly in the sand with this one.

Other countries alongside UK such as India, Mexico and Argentina have approved the use of the Oxford AstraZeneca in all ages groups.

The Oxford-AZ developers say that results from a trial of 2,000 adults over 55 in the UK will soon be available, and another trial in the US in older age groups is close to providing data too.

Perhaps when the data of the above trials become available and are promising - EU countries may approve for the use in over 65’s.

Maybe ? you'd think they'd approve it already saying as it's not as hard work as Pfizer.

What do you mean when you say one does as the Pfizer vaccine is given in two doses? In the UK they are leaving up to 12 weeks between 1st and 2nd dose so they can vaccinate more of the population at a faster pace.
The Israeli data is based on two doses three weeks apart so they're looking to the UK to see how well the one dose performs after three weeks.Click the tweet it should link you to the article.

Thanks for explaining. In the coming weeks we shall know more regarding the effectiveness of the vaccines in the UK.

The Gov haven't been pushing obesity as a condition nor have they said smokers are at the highest risk of this disease they've focused on don't hug granny .
Obesity is a risk. A BMI of 40+ puts you in the clinically vunerable list

Yes I know but the Gov haven't been making people aware of this through any campaigns etc not many people know about the risk unless you're on the shielding list.

Wow had no idea it increased this much, they should really emphasise this, not only to promote a healthy lifestyle but I think people may be more careful and even consider shielding were they in a higher weight category.
A high BMI it's a reason to shield... CEV are told to shield.

OP - a BMI of 40+ = 90% chance of death.... Do you have a link for this please? Seems incredibly high..if so, I'm surprised that s high BMI isn't classed as CEV..

Edit to say that a BMI of 40+ is NOT a reason to shield. My sister is in this category and her employer won't let her shield (teacher).
