I honestly don't think that the virus will go anywhere until at least the autumn even with all the protocols and even stricter ones in place, virus can lay dormant so even with a rigid lockdown people will still be able to get, perhaps not as many but it will still be present. What really needs to happen is either the virus is able to mutate so much it wears itself and be no longer a killer or the vaccine gets released. I really people should stop picking on eachother and just hunker down until it passes. It's frustrating it horrid but until it does either of the two things above it ain't going anywhere and we are just creating more drama from the choas.
I am in agreement with you about the virus hanging around until we find a vaccine, but I was pointing the finger at those breaking the lockdown rules. Children playing out in groups, having your children’s friends over, chatting in groups outside etc. No issue at all with those needing some exercise and following the rules, those needing to drive to work or going out for essentials.

I must vent. I thought I’d do some puzzles during lock down and the first one I did was fairly easy. Thought I’d buy another. Wish I hadn’t bothered!!! I’m so frustrated it’s so hard 😂

on the cashless front one of the merlin sealife Centres announced they were going cashless before this all kicked off and there was hell!! parents complaining about kids not being able to pay with pocket money. The sea life centre actually reversed there decision. I’d like to see how people’s opinions have changed after this!
What puzzle is it?

I always have a puzzle on the go (even before lockdown), my advice is take a breather and come back with fresh eyes. If you’re really not enjoying it, try another puzzle.
If you want a recommendation, cloudberries on Etsy have some fantastic ones :)

We opened for key worker children, 20 booked in and less than 10 were showing up. Now they are all wanting places again after Easter and they've been told if you book the places and we reopen you have to pay even if they then decide not to come in because we've been taken off Furlough and will need paying.

We are taking children with 1 key worker parent, even if the other is at home and these are the ones that one to send them because they literally have no idea what to do with their own child!
Are you in the UK, I guess you are as you have mentioned furlough? I’m really surprised by that, is it the head teacher that has made that decision do you know?

They already do that where I am ,also toiletries and snacks ..They've even set up collection points now for nightwear /toiletries for patients that have to be hospitalised with the virus, as they're family's are not allowed to visit..
It’s just getting stuff there if we’re supposed to be staying at home.
Maybe people that would be more exposed would have to" tighten the belt", but if there no coming and going frequently I think it would be fine..
I agree, my husband is currently working from home but will be required to do a shift in a couple of weeks, he’s nhs but management, so he has to be physically there in the office but he’ll be the only one there but when he returns all his clothes will be washed immediately and I might disinfect him at the door 😂in all seriousness I will be more stringent then.

I have found that the queues outside supermarkets round where I live, although long do move quickly, since the stores are so big they can fit a lot of people in.

The grim queue is the one outside Boots, now they have switched to not letting you in the shop to go find what you want off the shelf yourself ... they interrogate you at the door as to what you want and then get escorted to it (or the pharmacy counter) and escorted back out again afterwards. So it takes forever if a couple of people ahead of you have lengthy dealings at the pharmacy counter. I needed hayfever pills the other day (a super strength one that you have to ask over the counter for) and the strict matron on the door made me feel so guilty for being there. Cheers Boots, muppets.
I’ve only been in for a prescription but will need to get nappies in the future which I’m dreading. I can just imagine being judged and feeling like I have to explain that their own brand nappies are the only ones around here that don’t leak (daughter has gastrointestinal issues), not that I’m too thick to just go to the supermarket down the road

I haven't read all the posts on here, but I can see quite a few regarding what treatment or help is available in hospital. This may have been mentioned already, so forgive me if I'm repeating anything - there was a really interesting special episode of Horizon on the BBC last night all about the virus. It was pretty easy to understand and I would recommend watching it as it answered quite a few questions I had. Here's a link - https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m000h3nm

Minister for Health, Simon Harris said he expects to be advised tomorrow to keep the significant restrictions to slow the spread of the coronavirus in place, for a period of weeks, but that Ireland will have to move onto a "different terrain" after that....

I had a dream I went further than 2km yesterday, no gloves on or anything.... fucking rebel.

one day. One day.

What does he mean tougher restrictions? We're not allowed to cross the border now the guards are out in force 👮‍♂️🚔

Id tried to register with Gov.uk 3 weeks ago as soon as started shielding , but as I live in Wales it didn't seem possible -however I then got letter from Welsh government last Thursday identifying me as vulnerable due to my autoimmune disease and chemotherapy medication....then got e mail from Tesco last night saying they'd been informed ( by government?/ GP/ hospital specialist?) that I was identified as vulnerable and offering me priority shopping slots!....I'm so relieved as theres no sainsbury or Morrisons's nearby and not heard from Asda or Waitrose
Thankyou, husband hasn't received a letter yet. He has tried calling his consultant loads over the last few weeks, always told he will get a call back but never does. Will get him to chase them up then can register on gov. Uk

Yes more fool them but it’s not about Them, it’s about the nhs. If that becomes over run with covid cases then we are all basically fucked because basic health care wouldn’t be as available as it is currently.
The NHS is a way underfunded institution and has been for many years. There were better ways than what has happened.

The poster said no one, including those without a DNR is being resuscitated. I doubt that is true.
Being resuscitated is brutal and there are situations where it isn’t appropriate but I don’t for a second believe all covid 19 are being left without resuscitation when it is suitable and even worse that this is a top down official strategy.
Witty more or less said it was true. care home residents are dying in their drove's I think his words were "unfortunately that was always going to be a big hurdle " when he was asked about it..No if any care home residents where I am are being taken to hospital they're been made as comfortable as they possibly can .I have two relatives in a care setting and have been made aware if their situation were to change what steps would be taken..
