I'm so glad I found this thread, im so annoyed some of my friends think they can decide what is deemed to be essential and still carrying on seeing their other halves who live in different houses to them, some even opposite ends of the country. Suck it up and don't see them, Boris doesnt count you having a shag as essential the rest of us are missing out.... really beginning to anger me when i have other friends still working in essential roles being put at risk every day:mad::mad::mad:
I can't even decide if I want my kid to see her Dad right now at his house because of the risk. If they meet up on a walk can she hug him?? Like yes they say separated families can carry on as normal but that's the complete opposite to the advice for us all in terms of not visiting other houses etc?? I just want to keep her with me tbh.

They'll be literally slapping peoples back pockets nxt ;)
Asda staff are bellowing at people at my local who are not standing 2 meters apart, that's both at other staff and shoppers.
It's terrifying, you walk on tenterhooks waiting for someone to holler at/across/around you.
I walked into My local supermarket and the queue outside the store is marked with smiley faces for where people should stand,
The manager was standing at the top of the queue beside the gloves and sanitizer spray welcoming people and cracking jokes.
He told one person the gloves were 17c each or two for 50c and the amount of sprays you use will be added to your total at checkout.
Said there are toilet rolls hidden behind the stuff they’re trying to shift and if we need anything just shout from a distance and for the love of god don’t cough to get our attention..

it was brilliant 😆😆 exactly the atmosphere you need.

Aww no I didnt mean Chris Whitty was a bad guy, it's just the public broadcast suddenly coming on. Think it could have been anyone giving that message close up like the tv had just cut to this message and it would have been a bit 😳
Yep totally. He's brilliant. Very reassuring and no nonsense but not cold either. The advert gives me the jibbers though.

Mine are face timing their dad. Luckily he was fine with that, possibly as his mum is high risk

The parts in the testing kits the government have ordered have been found to be contaminated by...traces of Covid-19.
This doesn't look too good for testing patients and NHS staff...maybe they can borrow some from Ocado, who are testing their own workers.
I think celebrities get tested for insurance reasons too, £375 for a basic test is small change to Tom Hanks and Idris Elba.

How much would you pay for a private test?

A couple of hundred dollars. Ideally lower but wouldn't expect it to be cheap.

Does anyone know how many of the 22,141 people, who tested positive, are MP's? Or celebrities? Out of the 66.44 million people in the UK. Do they have particularly bad luck at catching the virus or is it that less famous people just don't get tested? 🤔
Are you sure? The nation is panicking about a pandemic where they’ve had to build a make shift hospital for 4K patients in a place where they usually hold yacht exhibitions. And they think that telling people not to bleach their groceries will calm us down? 😱😱😱😱
Fair point!

Is anyone still having takeaways? I don't want to risk it but the BBC says it's fine!

I’m so lucky our local garden centre has been doing flower deliveries so I got a whole lors delivered on Saturday. Makes a difference when your garden is looking nice doesn’t it? Lifts the mood a little x
Love this! Going to check mine now :)

If you get a text or what's app message saying "knock knock" just delete it. It's the Jehovah's witness's working from home. :ROFLMAO:
Oh that made me laugh 😅 so glad we can still laugh to distract ourselves from what's going on

When you take a few hours out from any news it's jarring going back to it; tents in central park, people being sprayed down with disinfectant and people walking hundreds of miles to get home in India 😞

We haven’t seen my stepchildren for 2 weeks now. They don’t want to put their younger siblings at any risk of catching it so are staying with their mum. We FaceTime and call a lot. We Miss them terribly but it’s keeping us all safe

Ssshh Monga, they are not saying where they got them from! 😉
Do you remember this contaminated kits story from earlier in the month...about the FDA and Axios?

Yeah, I think about the same-but then cheaper as more come to market of course.

Surprised some of these Youtubers have not made Covid-19 results-anxious faced thumbnail sponsored videos.

I went out for the first time in a few days for a walk. We live on a big housing estate but there's a big park/playing field nearby. Saw a handful of people but everyone kept their distance - couple of dog walkers, a mum and two kids playing football and so on. Also went into the local fruit and veg shop on the way back to get some fresh stuff - they are usually really quiet but people are obviously trying to shop more locally rather than going to the bigger supermarkets which I'm really pleased to see for their sake. They've also kept their prices the same (unlike a neighbouring shop rumoured to be taking advantage and hiking prices up all over the place).

Found out my company is asking people to volunteer for furlough though. I'm due back from mat leave in a month - I'd just got my head around going back to work when all this kicked off and now the thought of trying to balance looking after a 10 month old whilst trying to get to grips with a new way of working and getting back into the swing of things fills me with dread. Now that some of the team could be potentially furloughed, means there will be extra pressure on remaining staff to get the same amount of work done. Plus I feel like what we do is so insignificant to what is going on right now. It feels like an alternate universe.

Genuinely thought the worst thing about this virus was the symptoms, but no, apparently it’s the bleeping house party app.

Kindly duck off 🤣 if I’m not gonna join you at an actual house party hell will freeze over before I download an app to eat with someone.

I've already been added to the OAP chats and got two of them on tiktok 🙄
That’s my socialising for 2020 done.

(Side note, I’m not an OAP, I’m just their dealer)

There is an influencer called TheLauraBlair and she has coronavirus. She shared a video on her page of what it is like and she can barely catch her breath while talking. It is so scary.
