My anxiety has been through the roof as well with it. I’m afraid another lockdown will send me into a mental breakdown again or worse even dead🙁
I post about this charity all the time here, but they are are wonderful and still accessible by email and phone. Just in case you need some extra support.

The one thing that I found helpful was to actually stop listening/reading all of the live updates and the news,

Might sound a bit woo but have you tried the Havening technique? Some examples of how to use it. It's basically self massage.

I agree. I mean how many right now have flu or a common cold? I bet that’s quite a high number. Ok not as high as covid but we don’t test people daily for these things so who knows how high the figures are. My sons had to do a pcr today for work because he has a sore throat, I’ve been a bag of nerves all day because I’m unvaccinated and have CFS. Sick of it all.
I bet thousands of people come down with a cold each day . If they do over a million pcrs and some are to go into hospital, some are holiday makers, 78k have covid , do the remainder have cold/ flu or other ailment?

Not that I can remember, mostly asking if Boris is going to change his ways.... If they will be celebrating Xmas with family and about the party rumours..... To be honest it was just a hour of them screaming boosters at the cameras... How we should now be getting jabs into the kids to save the world and hopefully get back to some sort of normal next year 😏🙄
I saw that part but got bored so got on with life 😴
Clearly nothing has changed then. We can't have 10 people in hospital and have Professor doom telling us that we're all in mortal danger and shouldn't believe what very clever SA Dr's have seen.
Shame on the journalists for not challenging it though

Oh yes, that’s a very good point.

I really feel for you. Working from home can be great for some people, but what others don't think about is the social isolation that working from home can cause.

Yes you might be on Teams or Zooms calls and speaking to people, but thats nothing compared to being able to swivel your chair around and have a 5min mindless chat about crap just to break the day up, which really helps with work morale.

If you're a good worker you can also end up putting in more hours than you're contracted to because you lose all track of time.

Or the fact that working from home means that you might not get any kind of exercise or just time outside.
It's all very well saying "well make time", but some people can't if they have commitments.
For most people their exercise or time in fresh air was walking to work, catching public transport or having a mooch about town on their lunch hour.

The fact that you have a new job and having to do this is awful and I really hope it doesn't last. I also hope that your company and HR dept recognises what I've said and helps you... if they don't then you should get in touch with them. All companies now should be safeguarding their employees mental health
exactly this. I live alone and have been working from home since March 2020, I’m allowed to go into the office but there is never anyone else there. I end up sometimes working up to 14 hour days and don’t leave the house sometimes for days on end

im going to be much less dramatic than I was the last time around on here but I sometimes do wonder how I would survive another lockdown

What's really helped me is to stop listening to the media, focus on the things that I can control rather than what I can't (which has helped with grounding me) and meditation. It's not for everyone but those things got me off my anxiety meds and now I just live for the day, tell myself I WILl have a good day and remember things I'm grateful for. I was just fed up of feeling like the government controlled my feelings amongst everyone else, when only I control those so I took back my own control ❤

Just remember you have us here to talk to at all times. You are not alone and this too shall pass ♥

People slate Tattle, but honestly, if I hadn't found it pre lockdown, I'm not sure I'd be here.

Getting a bit sick of spam from the NHS now.....6 emails and 9 texts.....can't they work out I don't want a booster(*).

I might just book one to get them off my back.

(*) - no anti-vax sentiment here. Jabbed x2 with AZ and happy to have 1x more AZ but not an mRNA. I wouldn't take part in a medical trial even if they paid me.
You are taking part in a medical trial - except not even paid. Nowhere near enough time has passed to promise these vaccines are as safe as they claim to be.

Please don’t give in to something you don’t want just to “get them off your back”. If we all do that, this won’t ever end. Have courage in your own convictions. You don’t need to justify yourself.

Telling friend, family, a forum or your company that you're lonely and isolated isn't dramatic. It's real and needs to be acknowledged.
As I've said, your company also needs to safeguard your mental health because they have duty of care while they pay you.
Never ever suffer in silence, speaking out isn't dramatic, it's real to you and will help prevent unnecessary, or further mental health problems.
Never also compare your worries to other people's. Isolation and loneliness is personal to you and everyone has their own limit.

At this point the government couldn't give two flying fucks. They just want their end result, so its up to us to to use what we have to fight and look after ourselves

Was just thinking those numbers today wouldn't even be reinfections as the UK only counts you covid pos once in the data so where does immunity from previous infection fit in  these must be new infections .

Honestly up to you, viral load is the same regardless of vaccine status and transmission
vaccines only help reduce the severity of how ill you are

so if your dad is up to date with jabs and feels comfortable socialising then Ul be fine
Good to hear a scientist admit they do nothing for transmission

I wish GPs would go back to normal. There are so many people wanting to be seen by their GP now that a lot simply go directly to A&E and that appears to be where the problems in hospitals are. Please do correct me if I'm wrong though.

And I also think that critically ill patients should not have their appointments cancelled. Those with cancer, heart problems, knee and hip issued to name a few. People are struggling and need their treatments. Who is making the decision to put the jabs first, and how can they justify it?

First time on these threads, feel I need somewhere to rant. My 17 year old daughter doesn't want the vaccine, her choice and I've never tried to sway her either way. My dad however is constantly on at us both about it, nagging every time he talks to us and has even said he doesn't want to be near her while she isn't vaccinated. She suffers with her mental health (CAMHS were involved last year) so I'm really worried for her. So sick of this tit now and I've told my dad as much, he tells me I need to watch the news and see how bad it is, lol. The funny thing is at the beginning of last year he was all "ah, its only a bloody cold, people are soft shits" 😂 not even sure I want my booster now.
Bit of a ramble but feel slightly better for getting that off my chest 🙂

It wouldn't be before time. If people are already in hospital with something else they shouldn't be a covid case.

Is that really true? Do you have any data you can point me to? I have some family members worrying and judging so would be great to be able to back up my reasoning for not having the booster with some facts!
You shouldn’t have to justify your choice of you want the booster are not. I certainly wouldn’t be going out my way to research it just to answer other peoples questions on your choice with regards to what goes into your body?

Your poor daughter (and you). As a young healthy 17 year old she does not need it and your dad needs to get back in his box or risk not seeing his granddaughter. He's been brainwashed. It's infuriating. Her mental health is the priority and is knowing and feeling she has autonomy over her body.

You need to make it clear to him that he is damaging her fragile mental health further with his attitude.
