Haaaa my Trust has just sent out an email "strongly advising" staff not to do any socialising outside of work due to the number of staff now off waiting for PCR tests.
Noooooope.

Javid says, if the NHS is overwhelmed because of Omicron, hospitals might not be able to treat all patients in need. For example, they might have to take difficult decisions, affecting perhaps a child who has been in a car crash. Would they get treatment?

He says some MPs might think this is just a “hypothetical” risk, “but it’s not”.

Using an example of a child in a car crash not getting treatment to stoke the fear.
bleeping swine. The fact that there is anyone left that can't see through this bullshit is absolutely beggars belief.

The government you trust so much is threatening to not treat a child who has been in a car crash. For a virus that has killed less than 1% of the population. If this isn't enough to make you see you have been fooled beyond measure, there is no hope you ever will. Really there isn't.

How many people will be sat at home with worrying symptoms because they fear ‘the NHS has enough on their plate’ thanks to all the scaremongering about it being overwhelmed.

I’ve actually had really good experiences with my GP throughout the pandemic. A quick consultation form with a call back within a couple of hours each time I’ve needed help, on some occasions they rang and asked me to pop straight down for an appointment and it was quiet. A huge improvement from before Covid - they have decided to keep this system in place.

He is disgusting.

Javid ends by saying the government will not extend mandatory vaccination to any professions other than care workers and frontline NHS staff.

And he says he would never support the sort of “mandatory vaccination” policies implemented in some EU countries.

I suppose he's referring to legislation in Austria making the vaccine mandatory next year.

However what he's doing is all just smoke and mirrors

You don't need to make it a law you just need to increase restrictions for the unvaccinated to make life incredibly unpleasant

Take away freedoms and still tell people they have a choice.

So you’re basically just living to work because leaving the house for anything else is a terrible idea

Mentioned about my dad having to go into hospital today for a bladder cancer tumour removal. It's been cancelled due to lack of beds. Unbelievable and infuriating. This is what is happening now. I just hope he is rebooked asap.

So far they had been keeping on top of his cancer, which was great, but today has pissed me off. He was told to go in at 7am, but he's told me he had to wait up until now, so about 9 hours later, and they've just told him they have no beds, so now what I don't know. I don't think private healthcare would even cover cancer.

Me and my mum don’t want another lockdown for the simple reason that our next door neighbours are awful parents who swear at their kids morning, noon and night and we can’t stand the shouting and screaming coming through the walls
This is worrying. Given the recent publicity of the deaths of Arthur and Star, I hope your concern has been reported.

Unfortunately I belong to a UK online BC support group and am seeing this nearly every day.

This is a ridiculous request to make of your staff, you can do what you like outside of work. I really do find it vile to put this guilt burden on people for living their life.

I have suggested we contact someone, but my mum’s too worried about getting on the wrong side of the parents 😓

Sorry to derail the thread, but we’ve had to move into my dads because we were getting verbal abuse off our next door neighbour, so we don’t want to get on the wrong side of anyone else

I feel sorry for the kids (one of them is disabled), and she screams and screams and screams to the point where the parents are shouting “SHUT THE duck UP”. It’s such a toxic environment and we have no idea what to do

I'm gonna have to now test my daughter every day for the next week as a teacher that was overseeing her textiles mock exam yesterday is now off with covid and my daughter told me how she was helping her yesterday with cutting materials and they was all touching the same things. Only consolation is that she was the only pupil in the classroom who decided to wear a mask for the 6 hour exam. So I'm hoping with that she'll be ok,. But no letter from the school about it, my daughter happened to over hear another teacher mention it and how she hopes it doesn't ruin her Christmas trip to Italy.

I hear you don’t want to get on the wrong side of anyone, but safeguarding children is everyone’s responsibility. You can call anonymously and report your concerns. Please, please for the sake of those poor children let professionals know; social services, your local authority, the police, NSPCC, they will all be able to handle your concerns sensitively and make sure those children are ok. Disabled children are statistically more likely to be abused and I am concerned with what I’ve read.

They won't know it is you. You can make an entirely anonymous report.

Better to be on the wrong side of some parents than do nothing and let the situation continue and potentially escalate.

I’m a civil servant with no practical skills, and we are being drafted in to work at the vaccine clinics. They must be desperate 😂
