That place is actually near me - I always drive past when I visit my parents and also drove past this weekend, when they started to evict people from the site. I've never seen so much blue light flashing over such a huge area, they had the place surrounded. But yeah, that video is kind of funny

I was accosted by an anxious looking woman in London recently who shoved a leaflet into my hands and started on about how the world will soon be ending. I told her to 'get a grip and stop doom mongering'.
My daughter said I was being harsh but I was trying to tell this woman that she should enjoy her life and live for today instead of frightening herself to death worrying about something that might not happen.
Too many people have been brainwashed into thinking the end is nigh. I'm all for positive initiatives to combat pollution etc but scaring everyone really isn't that helpful or productive in my view. I also had to calm down one of my daughter's friends who was literally crying about it saying that there's no future. It's causing a lot of anxiety in young people which in my view isn't good.

What's with them taking over the London marathon and acting like an impotent version of the Mafia SMH 
Thousands of people will have trained for a year to run in the London Marathon, raising money for charities etc.
These protesters really annoy me, they ought to head for one of the globe's biggest polluters - China, & try protesting there, a truncheon across the face or worse, would be the outcome.

I am struggling to see how putting orange dye on a snooker table achieves anything for their cause other than to make everyone get pissed off with them. I have learned nothing about what they are trying to prevent from them defacing someone else’s property. Stop hurting everyday people and go lobby actual officials who can influnece change. Ruining a sport match doesn’t save the environment, it’s just a punch in the face to the players and the spectators who put effort in/paid money to participate in recreation as a break from stressful life.

Never did understand that Canning Town protest, when trains are one of the greener forms of transport at this point in time.

And up everybody's nose, they don't pick these by accident.
But if they piss off everyone, they will only continue to lose support so...still doesn't make sense to me? I remember when Greta said you have to piss people off and I felt she was barking up the wrong tree, and I don't have the problem with her that some do.
I think they just didn't get the difference between that and getting people to take notice.

Some of them come across as utterly demented in that you can tell from the way they talk they are just mindlessly spouting off like a hardcore religious fanatic would, and I am someone who does believe that climate change is a real and genuine threat we need to be concerned about and do what we reasonably can to assist the planet.
I think Roger Hallam is at least in part to blame for how extreme and out of touch the movement has become.
