Did your dentist decide that you wore yours for 10 days and then changed? I send them my first photo next week.I drink cold drinks with them in. I think towards the end I probably will drink hot (ok, warm!) drinks with them in. I change mine every 10 days. I can’t wait til it’s all done

Also, how do you clean your aligners? I just took mine out and they smell not great (I cleaned mine with toothpaste and brush this morning)
They won’t fall out it’ll be great. The only negative I can remember is that the trays get a bit gross after 2 weeks and you just have to be really on top of tooth brushing. But the results are so great. I had over 50 trays so I went for the long haulI've got an Invisalign consultation appointment in a couple of weeks. I had one a couple of years ago with a different dentist but wasn't convinced by it at the time. Now my dentist has started offering it which is so much better than having to travel to the other place regularly.
I assume they will recommend the same as the previous people. I'll need a couple of teeth out on the bottom in order to correct the crossbite as well as hopefully correcting the mess the dental hospital made of the alignment of my top teeth.
I'm both exited at the thought of being happier with my teeth and terrified that something will go wrong and my teeth will fall out. Fingers crossed it will be smooth sailing. Slightly concerned by all the faffing you need to do with taking them out to eat and clean them etc but I suppose you just get used to it.
When I was reading the T&Cs they mention crowned teeth and that they don’t accept liability for any damage caused to them by the pushing / pulling of the process. I’d imagine it’s done on a case by case basis but doesn’t sound as if it’s a no go?Has anyone done this with crowned tooth? Just wondering if it’s possible? (I know I should speak to my dentist and/or a dentist that works with Invisalign )
I use the denture tablets and soak the trays at mealtimes because they do get gross! They won’t fall out it’ll be great. Oh god I’m the same. I sound insane on the phoneI’ve started whipping out my top aligner when making a call at work. I cannot talk properly with it in!
I think I sound insane wether I’m just chatting on the office or on the phone. But at least my work colleagues know why I’m lisping It’s making me so self consciousOh god I’m the same. I sound insane on the phone
how is your treatment going? I’m also having Invisalign and an implant to replace a missing tooth (used to have a bridge but kept falling out).I’m about to start Invisalign in the new few months as part of a 12-18 month plan with other work alongside.
I figured whilst I’m here sorting a bridge issue (going from a bridge to implant by the end) I might as well straighten and take my teeth up a few shades whilst I’m going through it all.
I don’t look at myself and think I have major teeth issues but enough that they’ll be noticeably better by the end of it all. Genuinely cannot wait, the one good thing about prolonged face mask wearing for sure!
I had to check when I first posted my original comment and February, wow!!!how is your treatment going? I’m also having Invisalign and an implant to replace a missing tooth (used to have a bridge but kept falling out).
I’m only 3 months in but so far I would recommend it. Way less painful than metal fixed braces and barely noticeable. I have an app and take pictures of my teeth every 2 weeks and it tells me to move on to the next aligner if it’s all going to plan.
thanks for your reply! Interesting how advanced cosmic dentistry is nowadays! Glad everything has been going well, and good luck for the rest of your treatment. XI had to check when I first posted my original comment and February, wow!!!
Thank you for asking though
Treatment wise, very pleased to say that once my composite crowns went on my 2 front teeth (permanents next year) visually it’s made a world of difference to not only the appearance of my teeth but as my front teeth have been lengthened too now it’s actually reduced the issue of my teeth poking out a little bit and sort of brought my teeth back in a bit.
My dentist was actually the first one to say to me she didn’t even think we’d need it anymore and actually it would be very little difference which is great, this also speaks volumes about their care and ethics with regards to treatment, so that really helped with my decision to not opt for Invisalign in the end.
I’m now currently waiting for my appointment to a dental implant specialist to discuss options and have scans etc for the bone grafting if I am suitable for an implant which sorts out the old bridge (which was attached to one of said front teeth above) but if not I also have a totally different type of bridge option.
I think I remember asking how much will It cost, how can I pay (monthly etc), how long does the process take, does it hurt / is it painful to wear, how noticeable is it, can I eat or drink while wearing the aligners?I’m currently in the process of finding a dentist to do Invisalign to fix my slightly crowded/crooked teeth.
This is really cringe to admit but I’m quite scared of going to the dentist and have so far survived by having really good oral hygiene and just having a check up every 3 years or so. The only dental treatment I’ve ever had was a wisdom tooth removal, I’ve never even had a filling before so I really don’t know what to expect.
Any advice on what sort of questions I should be asking when I go? Or warning signs/things to avoid? I really have no idea what to ask
