I still wear my Christmas jumper on boxing Day, and play the Christmas songs, I hate the Christmas is over on boxing Day, makes it so glum. The festive season is only once a year, enjoy it

Yeah I enjoy it in the run up to Xmas but after Christmas day I'm pretty much done with it. Sick of eating, drinking and sitting about. My tree will be down today or tomorrow

I have become obsessed with saving gift bags like my mother - folding, smoothing. Extra points if its a Christmas gift bag that can pass as a birthday gift bag 😁

I think if I didn't have kids Christmas wouldn't be as important it's more making it special for them .I'm a giver i like giving more than recieving things so getting prezzies doesn't really interest me although appreiciated no matter what they are .

i always make a point of not writing on gift bags so they can be reused and if I’m buying for new baby I never get a baby bag so there’s a better chance of them being reused x

Give me more food and wine! I want to look like Scrooge's ghost of Christmas present 😆

I do miss that there's not been the Christmas socialising before Christmas, getting dressed up, nor the carols and festive songs around the piano*

*No-one I know has a piano, but one day when I'm a grown up I will have that fantasy gathering!

Anyone feel the Christmas spirit disappear at midnight on the 25th? Kind of a letdown.
everything from Christmas Eve is a let down, the only good part of Christmas is the run up to it, Christmas Eve is when any enjoyment ends,

mat least in the run up to it people are trying to be nice so they get a good gift and everyone is in a semi good mood 😐

Agreed. The magic is definitely in the build up. Seeing the joy on my kids faces makes the actual day fun for me but its a lot of cooking /dishes that I cant be bothered with.

I have taken my decorations down already. Gifted a lot of the chocolates/biscuits to family on Boxing Day.

Im so uncomfortable now and looking forward to simpler meals.

Problem is, It never feels like a proper Xmas in this country because we no longer get snow. It's like every year is raining and dreary, or just dreary and cold haha. Apparently Charles Dickens' 'a christmas carol' was written when is snowed in London at Xmas. Been a while since snow occurred in southern England at Xmas, that's for sure.

My mum is the same. I said to her 'I've got loads of giftbags for you to save and reuse next year' she said 'oh lovely'

I have thrown out so much food this year and feel awful about it. Everything seems to come in giant packs that when there’s only one/two of you at home the waste is dreadful!

god I’m gonna sound like a right Scrooge, but I bought nothing extremely extra, a few biscuits and chocolates the others are making their way through, and I consumed nothing extra, bar maybe more vegetables at dinner and more coffee, so so much more coffee 😂
I’m not gonna binge over 2 days and then spend January feeling like tit going on crazy detox diets.

I'm back in work tomorrow (from home). My tree is still up and will stay up until 2nd, as I only put it up on 15th Dec I'm not sick of it and still enjoy looking at the lights in the evenings

I wanna take my tree down now but my Mum and MIL have both called me Scrooge for saying it. They reckon I should wait until after New Years but I just want it gone 😂 when does everyone take theirs down?

I fully embrace the 12 days of Christmas so it is very much Christmas until 5th January, which is when the tree comes down.
