. To be fair I do prefer wooden toys but baby’s just tend to love anything huge and super colourful. I always take my girls toys down to places I used to often work when I was social worker those kids go without so much.Sorry I didn’t mean to infer it was money problems. My daughter is 3 end of this month and I hate spending money on toys as she plays with them for a week or two then not bothered. Aldi and Lidl do good wooden toy sales usually around now. ah no don’t worry lovely. I love aldis wooden toys I just ordered the cute little wooden laundry set. We’ve had them since my 6yo was tiny and some are still standing and in great condition. I didn’t see the doll house at the recent toy special event maybe there will be another? If not Asda do a great doll house furniture set?
Next might do a range with maternity in.
Why not get her creative toys then - dress up, cardboard boxes, craft stuff, books, an experience - basically stuff to get them to think. That's what children seem to remember when they're older.

That’s what I usually do. She has a flisat table she got last year for Xmas so planning on lots of sensory boxes to keep her entertained after Xmas when the baby is here. I’ve got her a Yoto player for her birthday this year and have asked for playdough, duplo, aqua beads off family. Yeah I think it varies on quality because the branded kinetic sand is much less messy, it stays together better. Some of the cheaper ones are basically sand. But depends on your kid too, mine is pretty good at keeping it in the tray but she’s never been one for getting messy herself.I got some kinetic sand in a set in aldi last Christmas.
Contrary to what they say it does make a mess, particularly when it ends up on the kitchen floor and then on shoes etc
