Managed to get this from my local B&Q for next year! £2.50, can't go wrong!

I bought lots of lovely buffet food for Christmas but I've been holding back the M and S beef and horseradish croquettes for me and hub and they're coming out tonight 🥳😁.

I've been thinking about how much I miss the actual January sales, everyone seems to do it so early now. I don't think it's a thing any more ??

I Pre-ordered pizza to arrive at 21:30. It arrived at 18:30 and is cold 😅

So now I have to not only wait for the bf to come home from work (he should finish at 21:00!🤞) I now have to deal with the temptation of pizza calling to me from the kitchen 🤣

I'm distracting myself with the Balsam Hill sale... luckily for my credit card, I'm only on the coke zero cherry at the moment 😅

We just had the last ( very small) Xmas pudding. I’ve got a tub of Heroes and a Panettone and that’s ever gone. Oh, and cheese. Might have some tomorrow. Happy New Year to you all.

My grandma and mum were great sticklers for not doing laundry on Christmas day, boxing day, new year's Day, good Friday and Easter Sunday. There were dire warnings about washing someone in or out of the family! I used to spend Christmas back in my family home so obviously laundry would not be possible, but new year, good Friday and Easter day Mum would find countless reasons to phone me on the land line listening out for any possible sound that could be an indicator the washing machine was running.

I know it's superstitious rubbish but I still don't do the washing on Forbidden days!!

At my mum’s for New Year.
My brother suggested she get some party food. She has done chicken and stuff as well. My brother had a late lunch and my nephews have been out for lunch so none of them are hungry! My mum is annoyed! 🤦🏼‍♀️ So fun.

That's Christmas all packed away and back in the loft. New Year fresh house and all that. Been down Sainsburys (was lovely and quiet lol) and had a hoover round. Knackered now 🤣

All the talk on this thread about not washing/cleaning on new years day has scared me into vacuuming at 10pm last night and not washing my greasy hair until tomorrow (it's been in a bun pretty consistently since boxing day, so I didn't realise just how gross it had gotten! 🤣) I'm making an executive decision and saying dry shampoo doesn't count as washing 😅

I don't think I felt as festive over Christmas as I did earlier in December. Maybe it is only the anticipation I enjoy. My tree is still up though, I'm not sure when it will be packed up and away .

I'm desperate to take off all the Christmas bedding, but now I know about the not washing I will wait. (Also wondering how many people I've inadvertently bumped off over the years 😧).

Well I've got nobody family wise to "bump off", plus as someone born on Friday the 13th, superstitions can get in the bin to me 🤣

Haha yes we just do no washing clothes, we are allowed to wash ourselves 😂 It is annoying though as we’ve just got back from a week away at family and I’ve got a tonne of washing to do which will have to wait until tomorrow…the only year I did washing on New Year’s Day my Grandma died a month later and whilst I’m pretty sure it had nothing to do with it, it has stayed with me forever - not least because she was the one who was a stickler for the rule 👀

I follow the no washing clothes on NY day and came in and my husband has a clothes washing on 😬 so surely that bad luck will go to him and not me right?!
