I would personally save the £100. Put it towards the BH tree and skip buying the homebase tree which would only be used for a year as you already have others at home.

Does anyone have a Habitat tree? They look really nice online.
If it fits your budget for a splurge and you'd regret having a cheap tree as your main one, just go for the one you really want already. If not, then I like the idea of a fresh tree this year and buying the one you want on sale.
But also, and I'm not in the UK so I don't know if this could happen, think of what happens if the one you want either never goes on sale or is sold out. Will you regret that? It's never worth it going into debt for anything but health or education, obvs, but if it's within the splurge budget, I prefer to buy what I want vs regretting it later.
Delighted to find an Argos Christmas catalogue in Sainsburys today. Fully intend to ring everything i want in biro, old school style

get the BH one, I’m sure you won’t regret it. When you love your tree it’s so exciting to get it out every year. I’m sure you’ll get years of use from it.

Pigs in blankets are expensive this year. Even the frozen ones from Tesco are £4 for 20…. What’s that about?
Looking for opinions - last November I went through a really tragic bereavement, and i am really dreading November this year but I absolutely love Christmas. I would like to put my Christmas Decorations up early in November to cheer me up and act as a distraction. Do you think this is too early and / or insensitive?
Definitely not insensitive. If you want to put your tree up do it! It's not doing any harm to anyone else
I think a lot of it is the retailers chancing their arms. Yes, costs have gone up but they also expect huge profits which is taken from our pockets.
Christmas party food is how I eat on Christmas Day and now with my airfryer, I can do even more. I'm all about picky bits rather than a huge roast for one. I do like a small bacon wrapped poultry joint on Boxing Day though. Bit of mash, gravy and seasonal veg and I'm happy.
Definitely not insensitive, you should do what will help you. Personally though, I might hold off on decorations until the day has passed - and keep them as something to look forward to (knowing that you are going to have a hard time no matter whether there is a tree up or not). But if you think it will help, definitely go ahead.
Not at all, I think that if it would help to cheer you up and help you get through a difficult month then you should put them up.

What I would say is consider if having them up on the day would mean you naturally associate Christmas decorations with the difficult time, as it might make you lose some of the Christmas shine.
I only say this as we lost my Grandad in December last year and my Dad who loves Christmas has already mentioned that this year he is dreading putting the tree up in case seeing it reminds him of losing his Dad and saying goodbye.
Saying that, I do think there could be something really special in putting them up on the day, depending on how you are feeling and what other plans you may have of course, as a positive way to mark the day and remember who you lost.
Hope whatever you choose allows you to find comfort and joy!
If I passed away I would hate to think my family would be worried about things like this, please do what makes you happy. Perhaps you could buy a really special bauble in memory of them, so they have pride of place on your tree every year 🩷

I've already strung a few Christmas fairy lights up in my living room for more of a cosy vibe during these autumn months, and if Christmas decs will make this November a little less hard for you, it's definitely the right thing to do.
Perfectly okay to do what's best for you.
My friend also helps with a "Christmas in July" event for sick kids.
