Whatamadworld

Do any of you visit country houses during Xmas. Been looking at things to do for the festive period. Going to London was one, but I'm also looking at other things like a weekend in other parts of the country ro enjoy the period. I hear Castle Howard is nice to visit, especially during the festive season.

Absolutely yes to Castle Howard! Chatsworth in Derbyshire too x

Yeah Chatsworth was another one that sounded great. Not to mention i am yet to visit the top country homes in this country, so it's like killing two birds with one stone. I get to enjoy them during arguably the greatest period.

There’s usually a fair amount of availability I think, I’ve never struggled (but can be flexible as I’m local) but the market weekends and weekends in general are probably the most popular.

If you don't want to go into the centre of London Kew Gardens always has a fun light display at Christmas. I miss it not living down South anymore!

RHS Wisley out in Surrey off the M25 do a good light display/walk too - tickets do sell quick too
