she has posted a pic on instagram of her “entertainment unit” filled with useless items.

if she was showcasing artefacts or souvenirs she had collected from travels, life events or genuine lifestyle interests such as artwork, well-read books or a music collection, one could justify making the wall unit a focal point... but then i guess that would be expecting too much from a woman who shops all day and travels abroad just to shop. the items she has chosen to “showcase” just looks like stuff she bought out of an online catalogue.

that’s Amie Rogers summed up- store-bought, no style, no substance. View attachment 431895
OMG. It is my first time seeing this unit.
I read about previous comments on the unit and the ladder so I was picturing a set of massive and tall library type of book shelves in my head. Because that is the only way when the existence of ladder makes sense.
But this unit with a ladder?? It is way too small for a ladder .

Amie's clothes and handbags are so unrealistic for everyday wear. Maybe they look good on Instagram but Instagram isn't real life. I think Amie definitely has issues. I mean I love to dress up but isn't what Amie does everyday even at home exhausting? Once she went to Disneyland in Orlando and she was wearing knee high boots (albeit flat). I'm just going to say I've been to Disneyland and everyone there is wearing sneakers. Everyone. The park is crowded and there are so many people. Nobody even looks at what you're wearing or if you handbags are designer. The park is big and you need to walk for miles so realistically sneakers are the only shoes you should be wearing.
i bet Amie is that type of person who develops anxiety if she doesnt have a full face of makeup on and her ramen hair in place when stepping out of her house or taking a zoom call 😂

the fact that she had to buy a branded backpack to go to Disneyland (Marc Jacobs) and a branded canvas tote SPECIFICALLY FOR GROCERIES (Marc Jacobs as well) shows she has an obsession with labels and the need to overflex all the time.

i mean, she’s not even instafamous enough to be photographed or approached doing a grocery run - noone cares 🤨

I'm not here to criticize how other people spend their money and time but...considering that London is an exciting city with a lot of places and ways you can spend time and money, while Amie was there, all she did was shop it seems. Considering UK is a short plane ride to other European destinations as well, Amie lived a vapid life.
Her Asia trip made me sad. She just talked about Tokyo was shopping heaven and featured consignment shops. I never saw her mention anything about the amazing food from Seoul, Hong Kong, or Tokyo. And her trip to Disney World, she even shopped online to send to her hotel room.

Horrid eyebrows, untidy eye make up and another unboxing over the weekend. Noticed that she was taking photos of her bags when out - which is important ie time with Dan or showing off a bag?? Taking pictures of your bag at a pub or beer garden is also pretty darn sad.
She sold her leather Dionysus so not sure why she’ll like the mini aside from the fact that it’s new. I suspect Amie likes the thrill of a shiny new toy but the novelty wears off really quickly.

I forgot to mention something I noticed which for me delegitimise her brand of being a fashion YouTuber is how much she let her husband sway her purchase decisions and style. Not saying partners shouldn't care what you wear and has no opinions but she literally based her wedding dress on how Dan wanted it, not to mention other purchases that she returned because he didn't like it. If you base your living around making fashion videos, you should be confident in your personal style. Dan doesn't seem to care a lot for clothing and fashion, so why is his opinion superced her's, who is an supposed expert.

This reminded me of a vlog she did last year where she and Dan went to lunch at a casual bbq restaurant (the kind that has bottles of ketchup on the tables) and this is what she wore:
You found the picture - yay! That’s right, she and Dan went to the Big Easy ie a casual BBQ joint, very much like a TGIF or Bubba Gump, and she looked like an absolute tit. It may have been Christmas Eve but people still dress down given we’re snapping lobster claws and eating ribs with our fingers. She buys a lot of clothes but has nowhere to go.

I didnt like her response to taking the covid vaccine. It implied that she had a choice over the different brand of vaccines available, when that isnt the case here in the UK. Unless she meant, researching into the covid vaccine in general and exercising her choice to have it as a vaccination whatever type or brand.

Its a covid vaccination, youre in and out in 30 mins, gettibg tarted up and "choosing" a bag of the day is too much brain power. Its like getting dressed up to get a smear from your dr 😂

I think it looks off, but its just a combination of the light colour and Chanel’s ever-declining standards.

Even if Amie was someone who buys fakes (I don’t think she is), it’s unlikely something from the new season would be available on the fakes market yet.
Agreed. I can’t see her buying fakes. She is too pretentious for that.

I think it comes down to crappy editing of the photo.

I do find it strange that she spends SO much on handbags for work...where is she wearing them? From one bedroom to another? She has confirmed that both her and Dan work from home. Or, are the bags background props for business meetings?

And, on Beta Companies it looks like they dissolved their Christmas tree business. I wonder why? I know that she has said that the Christmas trees double their income.

Guys someone on the other site found her new house! I’m not sure if I can post that here. Just had a look at it - it’s huge. I personally feel it looks more like an office space (just the main level) than a house, except the kitchen. Mayb I’m just not used to such modern looking houses. It’s weird really. Maybe after furnishing it, it might look better. I don’t know really.
This was just my first impression.
Thanks! just seen it, why on earth people still visiting GG - isn't life short enough to be waiting for the website to load

I have been a fan of Eileen ever since she started. She never sounds condescending but emphasizes why certain things don’t work for her and her lifestyle. She also looks so elegant with her minimal outfits and curated bag collection as opposed to 70+ blush pink bags. Props to her for thinking of new content without resorting to a haul every week.
Eileen buys luxury items and does youtube videos for herself though. You don't get the impression she does these for subscribers or to make a profit - it's a hobby for her. Amie does it to make money, get subscribers and get sponsorships. Different outlooks.

A few years ago, I really liked her and her channel. I like how it seemed she had worked hard in her career to be earning enough to buy the things she likes. Later on, it seemed to me that she would just buy anything, and buy a lot! I don't believe she is using every bag she buys and I don't see how she can give a fair review for her viewers. It also seems like she rushes into purchases without any thought or research - I remember one time, she bought a Gucci wallet on chain, opened it up and was so surprised that it had a mirror inside. I would be more interested if she took the time to consider her purchases and do an in-depth review, something that will be more useful rather than the usual handbag hauls every week, or change up her content.

I’m not trying to be mean here but Amie seems keen to be defined by her purchases/money. The need to show she can afford designer gear, doing her house up in a showy manner, impulsive purchases (not just once but many times over) - all seems strange if she grew up with very little money. My mom came from a really poor family and while she was successful in her career and was able to afford nice things, she still couldn’t bring herself to buy a Chanel bag. There was only so much she was willing to pay for a nice bag. I’ve seen this in many of my friends as well who had a tough time growing up and while all of them have gone on to have successful jobs and a wonderful life, buying luxury and spending money on business/first class flights is still something they don’t take lightly though they can afford it many times over. I know everyone’s different but for someone who grew up with so little, I was expecting Amie to appreciate her purchases a lot more.
I think this has more to do with individual upbringing and circumstances. I know people who grew up poor and made a lot of money later on does the exact same thing as Amie, not just buying designer clothes/bags but only the most expensive car, the most expensive and trendy restaurants, and stays only in 5-star hotels. In my instance I know men who does this rather than women, but I am limited to my understanding and social circle. I think it is more likely to occur if you grew up in a super wealthy area but you are the poorest family there, and when you are young where image and keeping up with your friends feels like the only thing that mattered and if you have really rich friends, buying ostentatious designer projects make you feel like you fit in with them.

My family are Chinese immigrants and I lived in working class areas all my life so I wasn't exposed to or interacted with wealthy people until university. Some people I know who grew up rich adjacent were awful with money and spent everything they had to keep up appearances. I suspect that Amie might have grew up rich adjacent, considering Asians place uttermost importance on their kids education and her family probably moved to a crappy house in a good school district which is usually the rich area anyways or her family worked multiple jobs to put her through private school. She did graduate from LSE, which to me indicate that she at least had access to good secondary education.

There's another point I'd like to make. I've thought Amie to be some smart and wise investor. But 2 issues stick out that makes me doubt her decision making (besides the endless bags she buys). First, her house is awful as we all know (I think she'll have a hard time selling it - it has awful sloped ceilings and it's a new house!). Secondly, Amie did a youtube video on investment years ago and her investment advice is awful. She recommended a investment firm that was very basic and had horrible reviews online. Amie says she has her investment company invest her money and she doesn't pay much attention to it or something. I really don't think Amie is as smart as she tries to portray.
You’re absolutely right. The design of the house is a nightmare, no sensible person would ever consider buying a house with so many dead spaces. Her vlogs indicated as well that she hadn’t considered how difficult the slopes ceilings were to fit around furnishings etc until she’d moved in so shows zero due diligence pre purchase. Whether it’s the 1st or the 100th house you’ve seen, you don’t give up and settle for any house, the entirety of the house has to work for you.
I’m not familiar with the investment videos etc. but I know she/Dan try to be smart by buying properties through a company to save on capital gains tax but you have to wonder why so many others don’t do it?! I certainly don’t and I’m fine. You can tell Amie is very shallow and does zero research which probably points to her being lazy. She loves luxurious goods but doesn’t know her brands, their history, what influenced their creative directors and their visions etc - she just buys whatever she sees, not that she has the means to do so but she’s desperate to portray a certain level of wealth. She doesn’t even know how to pronounce brand names and bag models’ names correctly, which are fundamental if she’s genuinely passionate about the brand. I don’t know what her business model for IG is but it’s pretty shit from the lack of partnerships and stale/churned content. Everyone else is producing far better/more exciting content so i wouldn’t be surprised if current partners (farfetch etc) drop her soon due to failure to influence. She doesn’t have the same pull as other IGers and should just go back to her day job and work hard to afford the bags she keeps buying.

People can spend how they want to spend their money and there are probably some things each one of us spend on that other would consider frivolous. The problematic aspect, I think everyone touched on is that she posits herself as a luxury and lifestyle YouTuber that provides knowledge and insights so her viewers can make the best possible decision when it comes to luxury purchases. But all she does is buy the bag saying she love it, and then selling it a few weeks later. Plenty of luxury YouTuber sell their collections, but the ones that I like really think about why or why not they are buying or selling their bags and the wardrobe come with it, many of them keep for at months, if not years before selling their things.

If she wants a luxury brand partnership and sponsorship, this is a laughably bad way to go about it. Her channel makes zero business sense and someone can educate me on how YouTube monetisation works because I doubt she earns enough to justify 10k pounds purchases every week.
Agree it’s up to the individual what they spend their money on, but to spend so much on bags and have little left for anything else is surely not how one should live. Surviving on meagre meals and cutting down on nice to haves for a few months in order to afford your FIRST ever Chanel bag is something we can perhaps relate to, but why is it so important to have so many Chanel bags and yet not have enough to furnish your house properly which is where you spend most of your time? The need to portray a lux life has just gone too far and I don’t believe people can relate to that or want that. I’m confused about what her channel is about. Is it about acquiring an infinite number of lux bags in pursuit of happiness?
Someone said that Amie had lived in different countries while growing up so less travel now for her. However - doesn’t she want to spend time with Dan and make wonderful memories of places they’ve visited together? It’s sad that he loses out just because she’s been there, done that.

This seems very random.. Seems like it should be #ad or #gifted but nothing.. 🤔
Maybe she bought it herself, it’s a available to purchase at a chain of health food stores in the U.K..

Yes! Many people disagree with her action. And she said people those disagree with her are bullies. I mean gosh that lady has some serious mental issue. She need to see a doctor to get some help. And after she got blacklisted, she still wish hermes give her a bag without her having any qualified spending!!! I was like wtf??? I hope hermes will blacklist her forever.
Bombarding an SA with a long email every week and demanding updates is a put off. I would have just deleted the email. Hermes doesn’t owe her anything just because she spent tonnes, she needs to take a look at her own behaviour first. It’s clear she needed Hermes a lot more than they her so no loss to them but a great loss to her. I hope she’s blacklisted the world over as her behaviour is simply embarrassing. I only started looking at her IG page recently and I don’t believe her stuff is real. Sorry, she’s just too tacky.
Now - back to Amie. She’s running out of ideas, new video up today re bags she wishes ahe bought and those she’s glad she didn’t. Surprise surprise, she’s lusting after a tweed Chanel classic flap. Was thinking of Hermes Garden Party previously but didn’t think it was worth it - I think she meant because no one could tell it’s pricey as a relatively unknown bag and logo-less. C’mon Amie - be honest !

Amie says she's really busy with her company so that's why she and Dan don't have time to take holidays. OK fine...but everyone, even those who work hard, need downtime. It's not that hard to go to one high end restaurant once a week if you had the money (I live in a smaller city where there are no high end restaurants and I envy those living in A-list cities like London where there are). Or take weekend getaways to nearby places.:unsure: I mean not everyone can take 1-2 weeks away and some don't cope well with jet lag but her life seems boring and unimaginative.

Not to mention the museums in London.
I don’t buy her excuses for exactly the same reasons you mention. It’s not difficult to book a nice fancy meal for some time out, also - weekend getaways to Paris, Brussels are a breeze via the Eurostar so plenty of opportunities. For someone who doesn’t have time to go on holiday, she sure finds time to shop big time when on holiday when she can do it online at home anyway! Fair enough if you want to visit small boutiques that are not online but all she does is visit Chanel etc which is in every bloody city and at home in London! Why bother travelling when you gravitate towards the same stuff that you’d get at home anyway??! The honest truth is she’s terribly skint when it’s not handbags or fashion related. Given the amount of spending she’s done this year on irrelevant handbags, I’d be surprised if she isn’t working 3X as hard on her day job to come up with more money for the next luxury haul on IG! She’s another purse on fleek - buys to show off and then sells in bulk to fund the next fancy purchases.

Another cheap looking, flammable dress. I don’t know who dresses up like this for date nights anymore. Sure, maybe up to 5 years ago people dressed up to goto dinner but not anymore. It’s more smart casual wear these days. I was at The Ivy in Chelsea last night ie nice restaurant in very nice area; girls were in shorts else casual summer dresses with flats - nothing dressy like they’re turning up for someone’s evening wedding do. I always laugh when I see Amie’s date night gear coz she tends to look ridiculous more often than not. Plus the fact she needs to show us she goes out when we know she spends more time playing dress up at home.

I think that outfit has less to do with the colour, but the texture. A plexi pump do not go with cottage-core looking dress. I don't mind if it was something beige with that dress, but has to be more natural? Like a espadrille wedge would've gone nicely in my opinion. Also, her Chloe crossbody bag would've gone nicely with that dress because it has a similar vibe.
Yeah, it’s like she wants to be PLT/love island influencer on the bottom half and the reformation British cottage core vibes in the top half, it’s a confused look which shows that she doesn’t have a good or even decent sense of style, she just buys designer items and thinks that makes her stylish when there are inspirational outfits on social media from people who just dress in Zara etc.

What also never helps is her side part hollywood wave immaculate hair which throws almost all looks off immediately and also the colours she wears which do not a flatter her extremely pale skin.

it amazes me that someone with that many bags can’t even style the right sort of bag (style, colour, size)with their outfits. That should at least be the one thing she gets right

Latest video- she's doing another closet clean-out yet buys plexi/jeweled Louboutins. Where are you going to wear these shoes besides shopping in London??? Also "I hope these will be comfortable and practical". :cautious: I just can't with her zero common sense. She could use this as an opportunity to experiment with more comfortable, effortless looks, but no.Sales of heels have dropped 70% except for Amie, who keeps dressing up for her fantasy life.

I don't think anyone (unless your super super rich) needs more than 10 luxury bags. Amie likes Chanel flaps and LV totes: She could really pare her collection to 3 Chanel flaps and 2-3 LV totes. That's it. Maybe 2 evening bags and 2 cross bodies. Why does she need 100+ bags is beyond me.

Fortunately, I've invested in real estate and the stock exchange . It's best to save when you have the money because you never know when you'll need the money down the road.
