I reckon 10 people left her more at risk of having to interact and might expose that she’s not really teaching much, she sounds like she’s going to be reminiscing instead. 100 people typing means there’s not much time to dig too deep.
I don’t agree that she has nothing to share in terms of experience but totally agree that she’s robbing people blind for a performance workshop they’re unlikely to benefit from.
Why didn’t she frame it as £25 for ‘an afternoon with Carrie’ where she discussed a performance from her repertoire? She could have made a short series of them and raked it in.
Agree. She definitely has experience of playing the role.
What she’s offering though is an ‘acting through song workshop’ which should be educational and give strategies and tips on how to apply that to any song. What they’ll get I’m sure is a wander through the glory days and Q and A where I doubt she’ll be asked any technical questions.
I think you’re right. 1-2-1 and smaller groups are definitely more work. The sheer number of this will mean when her two minute experience is over she has plenty of time to throw open the rest of the time for questions.
30 mins with one person eager to learn can be very exposing if you don’t have the skill set yourself or can’t teach. You only have to look at the millions of parents moaning about trying to teach their kids over lockdown. It’s HARD. You might know your two times table inside out but trying to teach that to someone else without teaching skills and strategies is a whole other ball game.
