What I will say, isn’t this stuff Korean? I’m certain we’ve discussed previously that she’s voiced her disdain, or perhaps that’s harsh so I’ll say indifference, for Korean skincare in the past. But obviously now they’re paying her... this brand is just the ticket for your skin at this time of year! 😡

I might have missed something but the only time I've heard her mention the lack of Korean skincare she discusses she said it was because it wasn't easily accessible in the UK. Can't remember when this was but Korean brands are more easily available now than a few years ago.

She kicks off about MLMs as well but recently has been pushing The Body Shop when they have a pretty hefty and dodgy MLM arm to their business. Guess whoever is paying her is fine, right?

I know Body Shop has a MLM aspect to it but thought it was more akin to Avon which I believe in the UK has a fairly decent reputation. Do you have any links on the Body Shop MLM being dodgy? Jusy out of interest, I won't shop with the brand after the JK Rowling thing earlier this year (and I think they said they had removed references to women on their website but still had a section for men...)

There's been a couple of not so positive references by CH in the past about KBeauty with regard to snail products (fair enough), sheet masks and some of the techniques. There's lots of KBeauty accessible in lots of online stores and even in high street but I think this is the first product/range CH has specifically mentioned

To be honest I'm not convinced by the snail slime either and sheet masks are not good for the environment same as wipes. I get they have been a big trend the last few years but I really hate everytime I get one as some kind of GWP.

I agree that Korean skincare has been becoming more accessible the last couple of years in the UK but I remember her making those comments a while ago about it not being readily available. I'm not saying stuff wasn't available when she made the comments but I would be worried about buying fake product unless it was a well known company selling it. I believe that beauty and make up products are the most faked products online.

I agree that she definitely needs to explore the Korean products that are readily available from reputable sources in the UK.

I do think her skin looks good though. Unless its the ring light.
Ring light n tret ... while flogging 10s of products which dont do much ... or little bit of the same thing

If her rant is that Vaseline is the devil then I have to agree with her. I fell for the Vaseline tip and assumed I was just purging. I’d had moderate cystic acne for 15 years so knew there would be a purge. After 3 months I went back to my dermatologist who was horrified that my skin was worse than ever. He held his head in his hands when I told him I’d been using Vaseline on top and told me to follow his actual medical advice instead of silly tricks circulating on the internet. Within a few days I had no new cysts forming and within a month the spots I already had were gone.

I could have saved myself a lot of pain if I hadn’t used Vaseline. Speaking and eating hurts when your face is covered in cystic acne.

ETA- just realised I didn’t explain that I was using Vaseline on top of tret 🤦🏻‍♀️
See everyone's skin is different. . N it is a bit of trial n error i guess

She's probably just jealous that double cleansing has been around in Korea for ages. ;)

She really should explore Korean products. They pretty cheap on Yesstyle and I found that once I stopped obsessively following Caroline's advice and started watching James Welsh (who is very into his Korean skincare) instead, my skin has looked a lot more glowy. I know that James isn't certified at all, but he's fun to watch, the complete opposite of Caroline's shouty approach, and I am a similar age/have a similar skin type to him.

I’m pretty sure I saw an old post or video where Caroline said she didn’t rate k beauty because it was made for a different climate. I’ve also seen a few offhand comments from her on IG videos dismissing it when people have asked if a product is good or for her opinion more generally.

I have some holy grail Korean beauty products that I’ve been using for years but When I found Caroline I liked her and she seemed knowledgable so I was confused that she wrote it all off. After reading through Tattle I assume it’s more about the fact that she’s being paid by lots of big western brands and has to be careful about sending her followers off to explore Asian Beauty products. It’s too easy to spend hundreds of pounds trying new products and then who will buy the old faithfuls?

I don't think its a coincidence that she loves to rag on asian women exclusively (Susan Yara, Jameela) at any opportunity she gets, but looks the other way when it comes to white (and token black when it fits her white savior narrative) women like herself in the industry.

Can you give me examples where she has criticised Susan Yara other than for the way she launched her brand (rightly in my opinion) and saying she doesn't agree with her about eye cream (CH thinks you need it SY doesn't but has an eye cream in her brand)? I haven't particularly noticed she 'rags' on her more than anyone else she doesn't agree with but might have missed something.

I'm not sure what you are referring to about Jameela? I don't think I've seen anything in the threads about this but might have missed it.

I don't want you to think I am dismissing what you are saying I just want more info.

What has she said about Jameela? Jameela is an absolute tool.
