Okay, I have to rant about her blog. It's a mess. I'm tech savvy and even I'm finding it impossible to navigate to find single reviews of an item. I mean, surely these reviews exist? I'm not searching any indie brand. I don't see why she would have ignored all the popular items from big brands. This experiment was done using her search box on the website.
I searched for Paula's choice: Only 2 single product reviews.
Okay. Maybe she don't like them that much. Thought she would've at least covered the classics but okay.
Search for Ren Skincare; no single product reviews.
Alright. Ren was good enough to be in her box but whatever.
Oskia: 3 single product reviews.
Pixi: 1 single product review!!!!
This one actually shocked me.
Kate Somerville: 6 single reviews
I would say that's okay but then I remember how much Kate has released over the years.
Medik8: 1 collaborative review of all their newly released vitamin a products.
Pestle & Mortar: 3 single product reviews. None of them were the one that was in the kit though.
Dermalogica: 1 single product review and 2 were single reviews paid ads.
She loves the brand,
innit
Zelens: 6 single product reviews.
Again, it might seem okay but remember this is over a five year stretch, zelens has released far more items than that.
Emma Hardie: 1 single product review and it's not even the cleanser!
Hylamide: 2 single product reviews
The inkey list(which was in her spring kit): zero reviews on any products.
Beauty Pie: 3 single product reviews. (In her spring kit)
Mother Dirt: zero single product reviews.
Do I need to go on?
So yeah, I wish she'd stop saying 'it's all on the blog'. It isn't. I think maybe because she's talked about an item in videos, she might think she's already reviewed it. Or her search function on her website is broken. I also wish she focused on skincare that is also at an accessible price. Stratia is one of my favourite brands, products are amazing and are not the same cost as your rent. I think the prices are fair and eveything is under $30. Yet, no reviews on the blog.
Also, I read her book. It was basically her cheat sheets copied and pasted for most of it. Some of it was new but most of it is available for free on her website.
No wonder newbies all ask the same questions. Accessing the infomation isn't easy when it's not organized and is scattered. She should have a lot more single reviews of stuff; those are the easiest to understand and you would get all your info from that review. Then people wouldn't ask "silly" questions all the time because they would know what she thought about the product. It's not fair to ask someone to read the blog, watch her youtube and insta lives to gather all the information you need and her opinion. It's too much and you really have to dig to find her opinion on certain products.
-Dont worry for my sanity, I am really bored and I can't get to sleep-
