Are we sensing tension between Hughes and Hirons?

When Caroline won that award a few months back Sali made no mention of it and she was at the same event supporting TerryBarber, mentioned him if course but no congratulations offered to Caroline.

I don’t remember either of them bigging up their beauty boxes either .

Even if they now can’t stand each other, it is a British Beauty Council/BABTAC initiative, or at least supported by them, so surely Sali should be publicising it on her platform?

ETA: would be KEEN to publicise and support it, given all her published words re her concern for beauty salons/practitioners.

I want to know what happened with Sunday Riley. She went from the hard sell for months to suddenly trashing the brand.

I also want to know what happened with Clinique. She went from trashing the brand for years to doing an advert for them!

This was around the time I stopped reading her blog. I'd had enough.
Yes! I’ve thought exactly the same!
The other thing I’ve noticed is when there’s a blog post about one particular brand that no-one’s ever heard of and it always says something along the lines of “I’ve loved X for years” and then you never hear another peep about it from her. Indie Lee? Strivectin?

Yes, exactly this. But if anyone were to bring up e.g. Indie Lee right now, she’ll say she loves them and still uses them all the time! 😂

No mention of the CH book by our Sal either. There’s an online (at least) cool off for sure.

Completely agree.

The NHS is not a charity. It requires proper funding by the Government. :(

The beauty industry is also not a charity. I won’t be donating. I will be getting my hair cut soon (first time since lockdown!) and paying for the service properly (take note Caroline).

I do agree that the UK Governments handling of Covid has been terrible and I feel for those who cannot work. But it is not up to us to pay for this - we simply couldn’t keep all those in business. The Gov need to sort it out.
Technically you’re paying twice. Your taxes are going to services provided by the government. By donating to organizations that supplement these government services or go directly into these services, you’re also paying.

The best we can do support these businesses and people directly. Shop/buy local, give a little extra in tip, maybe not wait so long between beauty treatments. Obviously not everyone is able to do all of this, but we can all do something to ensure small business get through this!

Came here just to comment on Sali's silence. It's glaringly obvious she's snubbing the Beauty Backed fundraiser. Why???

On the other hand, Trinny has gone way up in my estimations donating 25k. I know it's her company but I'm sure she still had to sign off on it. I wonder where the likes of Estee Lauder, Loreal, Space NK, etc. are? Even some of the big influencers. I saw Zoe Sugg donated 500. She probably earns that in a few minutes.

This is SO old but it still makes me laugh. I think CH is too laidback* with her kids, especially Ava, but if I were a parent, I’d troll my kid like this 🤣

*I know I shouldn’t comment on her parenting, especially when I’m not a parent myself, I’m just speaking from my perspective as the child of a very laidback dad, it didn’t really help tbh.

How embarrassing - Jordan samuels who wouldn’t of even be known to the UK with out Caroline ( she promotes him everywhere) donated just £75 .... that’s a couple of his products! She must of helped him makes absolute £1,000s!!
I really hope this was a personal donation and not from his company. That is shocking.

Find it ironic that Caroline agreed with the comment from someone about influencers who enjoy their free hair cuts and makeup sessions. At least Caroline is doing something to help now, but she’s been one of the absolute worst offenders on that front.

And she’s a buller if she says she won’t be accepting any more free haircuts/colours/Botox bla bla bla

There’s a word I’m trying to think of, I cannot grasp it (brain fog!) but I have a feeling that CH’s daughter sort of... appropriates black culture? Like with the way she wears her underwear/bikinis, long ass nails, the hair and jewellery, it’s all very Kylie Jenner-esque if that makes sense? I think that’s why CH was super miffed that Fenty didn’t send her stuff because it’s for Ava then? But she has money! Use your own money and buy Ava the products??? It’s not hard, you can get them from Boots online, I think???

I remember the comment she made about Africa, omg. Yes, Caroline, all of Africa (a whole ass continent) is full of impoverished children/people with perfect skin 🙄

Yes! All through the BLM stuff (obviously it's still happening, but when it was at its peak on social media) I remember thinking that her daughter completely appropriates and fetishizes black culture completely - you only have to scroll through her instagram to find evidence of it

Besides the crass ignorance of the rest of what she said, this bit is complete BS. I can give myself at least one honking great spot, usually several, within 4 days(and have done) by having dairy everyday.
Same - if I eat eggs, I’m guarenteed to get a Spot on my chin within days 🤷‍♀️

Hello all new here...... is she a qualified beauty therapist or is she just like that Nicola Bonn? Says she’s a beauty expert because she loves beauty products & left her previous journalism job to host her podcast talking about products? I’m a qualified beauty professional have been for over 20 yrs.... the first thing you learn is to double cleanse so what she going on about? Also I didn’t even know this women until lockdown happened. Who is she?
Oh she invented double cleansing - didn’t you know?! 😂 She once had a massive strop because some brand used the phrase double cleanse and didn’t credit her!

She does have some beauty qualifications, but worked in retail as far as I know. No journalism or anything like that.
