If her mum is coming from a place of “what can we do / should we do to help people in crisis” and exploring the subject through CF story then perhaps that is a good thing, to highlight where failings can happen / the high risk times etc)

But if this is a focused documentary looking at CF circumstances trying to find a point of blame I don’t think it’s a great idea.

CF was super immature and was often dating men a lot younger than herself so I doubt she would have even registered how ducked up the situation with Harry even was. I don’t think she was a beard, H might have experimented but I don’t believe he is gay. I think he leaves himself as ambiguous because that suits his brand and fan base.

CF committed suicide a day before my son was sectioned following a multi storey car park attempt. I know my daughter was tormented by the thoughts that we would be blamed for not preventing this..although we had done all that was humanly possible and my son was repeatedly let down by Community MH services after numerous red flag episodes.

I believe like others that the mum is desperate to deflect the blame onto others and maybe wants a bit of attention herself. Personally I think her motives are misguided and CF should be allowed the dignity of eternal peace without raking up her troubled life and raising more questions. MH services will never be up to the job despite all the platitudes and guff. Severe mental illness is a loose cannon and impossible to understand.

It's perfectly normal to look for someone to blame when a loved one dies, I'm sure the vast majority of people here have done the same thing. But to still be trying to blame someone else for a suicide 5 years after the fact isn't normal. Fair enough if new evidence has come to light, but I doubt that's the case here. Noone likes to think their loved one is to blame for their own death, but sometimes it is predominantly their own fault and accepting that is part of the grieving process.

Is Caroline's twin sister participating in this new documentary? The news stories only mention the mum (Christine).

I wonder how the sister and other siblings feel about Christine pointing the finger at Caroline's friends.

I completely agree, 100%. She was such a product of the media machine she should at least be allowed to rest in peace.

I'm sorry to hear about your son. x

I just couldn’t ever imagine myself dating a teenage boy, it creeps me out to no end that somebody would be attracted to a 17yr old at the age of 31, but it’s done now. I can understand her mother is still hurting and lashing out but it’s really not helpful. I’ve had mental health struggles and almost succeeded in ending my own life in my early twenties (thank god I didn’t, because for me at least, it would’ve been a very very permanent solution to a temporary problem) so I empathise with Caroline and what she might have been feeling.

But at the end of the day, when you’ve made up your mind to do it, there’s not much anyone can do, apart from march you to the nearest psychiatric unit for an emergency assessment - then you’ll likely be admitted and watched around the clock. But they can’t keep you in there forever. I’m not going to blame her mother, but it could be argued she should’ve done that? The answer is of course, Caroline no doubt wouldn’t have complied. That’s why the blame game is a waste of time. Let her rest in peace.
It reminds you of Sam Taylor Johnson, who was 42 when she got her hooks into Aaron, who was 18 yet looked much younger. She even used the 'He's an old soul while I can be immature' crap and has him saying the same now, claiming in interview it's fine because he was 'an adult at 15.' That and 'there was an instant connection'. As I said in their thread, I'm around the same age as she was then, and if an 18-year-old came up to me and did all the chasing like she claimed trying to absolve herself (which I don't believe as even a reporter at the time talked about her wearing pigtails and chasing him around the set), he would be told to take a hike and get a grip.

If she genuinely dated Harry, then it was wrong and disgusting in my personal opinion. If she was an actual beard for him and Nick, like many claim, then I do feel sorry for her, as she was called everything under the sun by his fans and makes me think, What in the hell was she thinking for agreeing to it while Nick, who was a decade older than him, got away with it and continues to do so now.

Thank you. He spent a long time in hospital but he's still here for which I'm eternally grateful and know that I owe his life to a stranger.

CF's friends weren't "to blame". She craved attention but was deeply troubled and a combination of events was too much for her to bear

I think she did it to boost her career and profile, the old no PR is bad PR (except the illegal stuff) and it worked for sure … definitely made her a household name to those who might not have known her solely from her presenting work. I find it mind blowing that some people still think Harry’s straight; the guy wears a banana fool necklace and has a song about giving male oral .. I mean what else does he have to do at this point!

It is predatory… and that’s why no one will ever make me feel any differently about what Sam Taylor-Johnson did to Aaron Taylor-Johnson. When you’re older and in a position of power, I just find it grotesque that you’d abuse that and come on to a teenager. What on earth does a grown woman have in common with a teenage boy? I’ve heard he no longer sees his family either, and the surname thing was very controlling and weird. It’s just ducked up and it’s sad she got her claws into him when he was impressionable and knew no better. He’s likely too deep in it now to even see how she groomed him.

The only way I can try to understand what Caroline did in my head is the fact that she probably had a personality disorder and was very childish herself, and saw no wrong in it, and that’s why she was always with younger men. With a lot of PD’s, you’re emotionally stunted and can seem very childlike. But to everyone else, yes, we can easily see it’s predatory behaviour and very wrong. I don’t think she made the best decisions, to say the least. It’s a shame she never got any meaningful help that might have put her on a different path.

If we’re talking about weird celeb relationships, President Macron and his wife is another odd one!
She was 39 and he was 15 when they met

Wasn't she a teacher in his school, from memory her daughter was also a student at that school when BM began grooming Macron. It's all awful.

Yeah she was. His parents found out about something potentially going on and sent him to another school to try and keep them apart

And yet they are still together...but who knows what goes on in their private lives. All very creepy and predatory on the part of Mme Macron. No doubt the French tabloids have got a shedload of undisclosed info about them.

Maybe she should have been by Caroline’s side herself and she wouldn’t be looking for answers. Maybe that’s harsh but this woman just needs to stop now.
This. I agree with this 100%.
If she was that concerned, where was she? Why blame her friends?

Massive guilt..No matter how displaced. Knowing that people would point the finger of blame at the mother when it's impossible to stop a loved one from completing suicide if they are determined.

She shouldn't blame the friends though. There is no blame in suicide. The legacy of suicide is what the mum has to live with and manage.

Off-topic, sorry, but I didn’t realise there was a 13 year age gap between Caroline and Lewis. It’s not massive, or anything, but I think it’s more noticeable the younger you are.
