Interesting that the comparisons so far we've given (myself included)have all been men.......

Trying to think of another famous female celebrity that had mental health issues and was accused of DV and I'm honestly drawing a blank 🤔
Sam Fox? She was recently involved in the air rage incident but I'm sure there was mention of domestic violence to her wife then it was dropped by the time it got to court.

Heather Locklear? I believe she had serious addiction issues when she was accused, possibly still does.

Didn't Tiger Woods' wife hit him with a golf club when she found out he'd cheated?

For non-domestic abuse, the most recent I can think of is Lizzo.

The sad thing is she took her own life a month before the world was about to change with Covid, and it’s likely her trial would have been delayed and news about her buried beneath death reports and latest covid crisis. If she’d only held on. But I guess that is simplifying the mental crisis she was going through massively. I feel for her when I think about the darkness and emptiness she must have felt on her last days. Nobody deserves that.

The pictures of her dressed in black after the incident, she looked absolutely lost! Very sad! I don’t deny what she did was terrible, but still very sad to end your life over it!

Yeah she looks destroyed in those pics. However (I’m well aware of how bad this sounds) I will never get over her decision to wear a short micro mini and leather knee high boots to court 😆🙈 clearly she wasn’t thinking straight

Yes I did question her choice of clothes that day! 😂

She had mental health problems from a young age and had self harmed and attempted suicide in previous relationships.

Lewis posted a message on his Instagram on Valentine’s Day saying he loved her. She was not allowed contact with him and she killed herself the next day and they found a note which was about her and Lewis. I still don’t think it was all about the media.

I totally agree with this, but I think this incident is what pushed her over the edge on this occasion! She’s lost her job, reputation and boyfriend!

I feel for her mum but it’s lunacy to lay any blame at the friends’ doors. She had a fragile daughter who had spiralled. It wasn’t down to Caroline’s pals to look after her.

And her Mum still wants answers! Article in Daily Mail today about the new documentary.
Maybe she should have been by Caroline’s side herself and she wouldn’t be looking for answers. Maybe that’s harsh but this woman just needs to stop now.

Not a huge Lou Teasdale fan but the criticism of her over this is unfair. Caroline died on a Saturday; Lou would have had her daughter off school to look after. I also remember Lou speaking about Caroline having stayed with her for a bit prior to her death & Lou having to discuss her suicide with her daughter.
Why didn’t Caroline’s mum go to stay with her or bring her back to Norfolk? Possibly because. Caroline didn’t want that, which demonstrates that it was impossible to keep her safe if she didn’t want it.
I don’t blame the mum for wanting this documentary but it should not be being made.

Totally agree with all the quotes here. It can't have been just down to her friends. Where's the family? Also if they'd kept her company for a year she may well have chosen to end it eventually the second she was alone and able to anyway.

That must have been horrific for her friends to come back to 😖

I agree. To a point. But how do you keep on babysitting a 40 year old woman with severe m/h issues who refused psychiatric (and even medical) help especially when you have your own family, life, responsibilities etc and live far away? It’s impossible. I truly believe her Mum needs some intensive therapy to address her grief and guilt rather than sanction a public documentary that looks like it may vilify friends who it seems went over and above several times. Such a sad situation.

CF was destined to do one thing which was to take her own life. The method in which she did it gave her no opportunity to backtrack. It was not a cry for help. It was infinite. That speaks the volumes it needs too for her loved ones to accept it and try to move on with their own lives. No matter how devestated they are.

This, basically. The only difference between Caroline’s mum and every other parent bereaved by suicide is that they don’t have the option to make a tv show to talk about their grief. It sounds terrible; but even if her friends said, “Yeah, we left her to die because we couldn’t be bothered to look after her”, what does it achieve for her mum? It doesn’t bring her girl back.

Have you seen all the Larry Stylinson stuff? Vomit-inducing.

That’s what I was alluding to, admittedly I don’t know the finer points but there is a part of fan culture that is batshit crazy and also there was a time where there were a lot of male bloggers and culture commentators (that’s giving them too much credit tbh ) who revelled in outing or insinuating popular male stars were gay or at least bi. I think Harry leans into it heavily but thats for another thread.

Unless he ever comes out and confirms it (nick grimshaw stuff)- I still believe he was dating Caroline or at the very least hooking up with her during /just after X factor days.

Another article in Daily Mail sounds like the mother is going for Lewis in the documentary too.

Mention of the texts on his phone that set Caroline off so no doubt she’s going to say he was unfaithful. He probably was but again..her daughter had MH problems for years so I don’t know why she is trying to blame everyone.
