Afaik yes, especially if it's categorised as DV.
Her mums behaviour is baffling now, what the end game? Who is she looking to blame? because she seems to be pointing the finger at everyone else without acknowledging that herself and Carolines close family had more of the information/background story than some of her friends, friends who seem to be doing everything they could to support Caroline.
Carolines issues seem to have been going on since childhood when her parents would have been her main care givers, they knew how bad her mental health was and it was a bizarre industry to get into, given how fragile she seemed to be.
I don't understand the want in her Mum to blame everyone, there doesn't seem to be any acknowledgement that no matter how you want to help someone, if they're not open to it, you can't make them. Caroline has been infantilised in the rewritten narrative her Mum is running with, Caroline was an adult who made adult choices, and seems to have been babied since birth by her family.
For her hand wringing now and finger pointing, where was the family? why weren't they all running shifts like her friends were? They knew how bad she had been for decades, and I really don't want to blame her family, but given how shes blaming everyone else, it does leave that question hanging, where were you, why wasn't Caroline under better treatment as a teen if it's as bad as her mother is saying now?

Theres an absolute whiff of mourn porn off this whole spectacle, we've had how many documentaries? How many interviews? How many 'IF YOU ONLY KNEW' statements?
If Caroline was so worried about being exposed by the crime scene pics being published, how would she feel about her life being exposed like this, her personal texts, her absolute worst fears?
I just can't fathom how a parent thinks this is a way to keep her memory alive.
I was surprised when her Mum advised her to come and stay with her and she refused! Why didn’t she go to her daughter to stay with her? Why was it left to her friends? She was blatantly falling to pieces. I think she’s in denial and looking to blame anyone but herself!

I think they are comparable - the exact circumstances may be different but they both concern a TV star with issues with drink, drugs & mental health committing a crime while under the influence which could hurt other people and ruin their careers, the man was treated with kindness and had his job kept open and the woman was thrown under the bus. I didn’t particularly like Caroline and I’m not justifying her actions by any means, if anything I think she was right to be suspended while under criminal investigation but I believe the same should have happened to Ant.
I think it was disgusting that Ant was allowed to weasel his way back into family entertainment after the appalling way he behaved. And Im also disgusted with his mother who got into a car with her very drunk son. He was clearly drunk! I don’t in anyway condone what Caroline did but Ant could have seriously injured an innocent member of the public. I wonder how many times he’d been behind the wheel before he caused that accident. All he got was a slap on the wrist and a fine he could afford.

Does anyone else find it slightly morbid that she felt it appropriate to post a pic at the wake? And the caption “Bye Beautiful” just really irked me. As if she couldn’t even be bothered to write “Goodbye”, such is her concern with keeping the insta feel to the post 🙄
There’s something off about her that I can’t put my finger on. I can’t explain it but I get a shallow vibe from her.

Found it on Lou Teasdale's account....

I think those photos are in really bad taste. 'Living our best life' poses at your friend's funeral. I wouldn't dream of it and I don't think I'm unusual in feeling like that.

If somebody wants to take their own life nothing will stop them. Certainly not a babysitter. I’m guessing it’s just a coping mechanism for the mum. Rather than accepting the fact her child did it to herself

Her mum was on This Morning yesterday peddling the documentary snd she literally blamed everyone else but Caroline. The police, CPS, boyfriends, friends etc.....

As a parent I get it is the most tragic thing outliving your children, but she has to look at what Caroline did objectively.

I find it irritating but not surprising how some tv personalities and celebs get almost canonised after their death. All their antics and behaviours brushed under the carpet after their untimely and sad demise. I get it, I honestly do. But the media didn’t make her kill herself, the media interest was there because she was the high profile presenter of the most well known dating show at the time, a show about finding love, and she courted the press as much as any contestant on the show.

Whilst I accept CF’s mother is grieving, no one seems to stop and think about the poor PC who’s being told she’s to blame. She’s human too and this will no doubt play on her mind for the rest of her life.
This is my concern. A policewoman is a professional who cannot release her emotions publicly like Caroline’s mum but most people with any sensitivity and compassion would be deeply moved and distressed at being accused of pretty much single-handedly driving a person’s suicide. The policewoman may be a mother too, she may have mental health problems herself or she may have had family members/friends who have committed suicide - there could be all kinds of trigger points that we don’t know about because the policewoman is by profession a private person. Now the policewoman has to face her colleagues, family, friends and neighbours because her name has been all over the media. It just didn’t sit comfortably with me that Caroline’s death inspired a Be Kind and anti-bullying sentiment and then the policewoman was essentially bullied and treated with zero kindness at the inquest when she was following guidelines and professional judgement and had no reason to want to punish Caroline as was suggested. I realise grieving will obviously affect your rational thinking but Caroline’s mum had time to prepare and compose herself for the inquest and other (more effective) opportunities to seek answers.

There's nothing anyone could have done to prevent what happened to Caroline, once she had made that decision she would have found a way unless she got the professional help she obviously needed. I'm not a fan of Lou but she did everything a friend could have done and although i understand she's grieving, it's so unfair for her mum to blame her friends.

So watched the documentary last night, you have all pretty much said what i feel. There was very little mention of her receiving treatment, even when it was suggested she was bipolar she didn't want to hear it and they couldn't mention it for fear of upsetting her. I'm speaking as someone who has suffered from depression and suicidal thoughts since I was 11 years old and have tried one attempt on my life, so I empathise with anyone going through mental health struggles. I understand denial is all part of it but there comes a point where you have to admit you need help and you aren't coping. She had money to check herself in somewhere, i struggle to understand why she never done that? Why was she not sectioned after multiple attempts shortly before she actually succeeded?
The downplaying of the assault is problematic but what will forever baffle me , is how the hell her "relationship " with a 17 year old CHILD at the age of 31, was glossed over and romanticised. In ireland most 17 year old boys are still in school. Why was she not sacked then? Imagine if, for example dermot o'leary had started a relationship with cher Lloyd at the time? He would be sacked and never work in tv again and rightly so! Because she's a woman and Harry was "famous" it was ok? Notice her mum never made any mention of that. Would she have been OK with her Carrie dating a man in his 30s at 17?

I do think that she killed herself due to the media mocking her, the upcoming criminal trial that she knew was going to be public, and the shame and hurt associated with losing her beloved job. She seemed to identify with her TV persona and she lost it.

As no trial has taken place it has not been found that she was really violent or even established what had happened that night. It is likely that she caused a scene, but we do not know what her boyfriend did and if she hit him with an object why she did it - although violence cannot be excused there can be mitigating circumstances.

So whilst she was a troubled and somewhat immature person I do not believe that she would necessarily have committed suicide.
This incident and what it did to her life was the reason.

Yes, a stronger person might not have killed themselves and gotten through this situation, but she couldn't deal with it.

Look at Blake Lively - she said in her lawsuit that the media reaction to her mean girl behaviour or her "cancellation" as she calls it caused her severe psychological harm. And she has a powerful husband, four children, tons of money and contacts, friendships with powerful people etc etc.
Caroline had her mother and sisters and friends, but was otherwise on her own and jobless and was facing a public criminal trial.
She had attempted suicide in previous relationships.

I don’t think any of it was to do with the media and always to do with men.

And her Mum still wants answers! Article in Daily Mail today about the new documentary.
Not a huge Lou Teasdale fan but the criticism of her over this is unfair. Caroline died on a Saturday; Lou would have had her daughter off school to look after. I also remember Lou speaking about Caroline having stayed with her for a bit prior to her death & Lou having to discuss her suicide with her daughter.
Why didn’t Caroline’s mum go to stay with her or bring her back to Norfolk? Possibly because. Caroline didn’t want that, which demonstrates that it was impossible to keep her safe if she didn’t want it.
I don’t blame the mum for wanting this documentary but it should not be being made.

I would like to add a couple of things to what I said - there was a highly distressing 999 call from the victim, Caroline herself admitted she hit him and this was done whilst he was asleep. But according to Flack’s mother this wasn’t domestic abuse?

Similarly, her mother claims she was treated differently because of who she was and she “could have been sent home” Why? She was arrested, she was being treated like everyone else. “Caroline‘s Law” was another staggering bit of arrogance and special treatment expectation - some of this was open court proceedings and EVERY case of public interest within the law can be reported (with exceptions of course). Similarly, the press reported all the usual stuff it would so she wasn’t getting special treatment there. She was getting the same as any male celebrity perpetrator would be treated.

The cynic in me would say Caroline was less worried about “being shown in a vulnerable light” on Bodycam footage as she was her admission being exposed. Her own legal team allegedly told her to plead guilty.

It is also not uncommon for CPS to reject cases and forces to appeal. This is not indicative of a witchhunt but rather the painful process of the law. People who don’t work in the field wouldn’t necessarily be aware of this, and this along with Caroline’s mother’s attempts at emotional manipulation of the public means people can sort of buy into this narrative sometimes.

What boils my piss the most is the mother saying he was messaging other women. Even if he was, he doesn’t deserve to be assaulted or abused. I know the mother is in grief but how she behaves is beyond contempt. Where is her own culpability?

Tbh i think that its about time that the whole "be kind" crap was shown for what it really is.
To allow people to behave as abhorrently as they want, and then not call them out for it because OTHER people have to "be kind" absolutely boils my blood.
Couldn’t agree more. I’ve seen way too many comments over the past few years pulling up people for daring to speak up saying “In the words of Caroline Flack blah blah blah”. One look at their profile usually shows them to be utter hypocrites who have no issues calling people “c*nts etc. or making threats on a regular basis! Such a shame she hadn’t said “if you can be anything, be honest” instead.

This article below is an interview with Matt Richardson, he presented the Xtra Factor with Caroline, this was before Andrew or Lewis, it's very telling of what she was like as a person, she clearly was troubled. Matt says she was very stubborn

“I can't sit here and pretend our working relationship was plain sailing. We argued a lot and fell out a lot.

“But we sit down and we'd really talk it out. She could be difficult and stubborn sometimes. We pushed back against each other.”

I think her stubbornness and paranoia is what led to her downfall, I think its all too easy to blame the boyfriend who was only on the scene a few months when she had been like this for years.

Both Matt and Olly Murs hinted that she could be difficult and that she would obsessively check twitter during the ad breaks on Xtra Factor, long before her Love Island heydays.

The truth is the woman should of sought professional help years ago, but she didnt, she was 40 years old and jumped from disastrous relationship to the next leaving a trail of destruction in her wake, she hung out with people much younger than her and lived the party lifestyle, courted the press, sold stories and pics to the press when it suited her but couldnt handle situations when they didn't go her way, I dont buy the emotionally abused by Lewis scenario at all, she liked lads, he was a lad, she should of got herself a man but that wasn't what she wanted, she was a teenager is a 40 year olds body, sure Lewis probably was riding on the coat tails, maybe he wasnt as in to her as she was him, but doesnt justify him being lumped on the head with something in his sleep and then being blame for her downfall and suicide, nope that was all Caroline, she just couldn't cope with fame and adulthood, a sorry tale but no one to blame but herself.

And I do feel that she was possibly let down badly by her management. I work in PR and the outfit she wore to the court hearing was a disaster. As frivolous as it sounds, these things matter. Her management, if they cared about her would have appointed a crisis PR team who would never have allowed that outfit. She looked so vulnerable and although she may have had family and friends looking after her she was effectively thrown to the wolves in terms of the press. Says a lot about ITV.

I don’t have a problem with her dating younger men. They were over the age of consent at the end of the day. I suspect her emotional immaturity led to her wanting to date younger men.
He wasn't a man though, he was a boy. 17 is a child, she was a grown woman. If he was 20/21 I'd say fair enough, as long as there was not a power balance etc. but when they are under 18 , no that's crossing a line. I'm around the age she was at the time she dated him, and i can safely say I would never even entertain a 17 year old boys advances , not even for a second. Legal or not, morally that does not sit right with me. So if a grown adult dated a teenage relative under the age of 18, you would be ok with it as long as they were immature themselves? Each to their own but I would be out for blood if I learned my 17 yo son was sleeping with 31 year old.

The police and CPS did everything they should have done, historically when domestic abuse didn’t get appropriate investigation it led to fatalities. You can’t predict what may or may not have happened.

I still feel upset at Caroline’s death but you can’t blame the authorities for trying to safeguard potential victims

I didn’t like how they were suggesting that Lewis was retaliating with spite in the heat of the moment. If I was asleep and was woken up by being bashed in the head you can be damn sure I’d be calling the police too.

Exactly. The most meaningless phrase in the English language in my opinion. Used to shout others down.
