I hope things are better for you now Katie and am very sorry to hear about what you went through. 😔

I think you’re right, everybody has their limits, in the public eye or otherwise - it is a very final and definite way of releasing from the insurmountable pain of whatever’s tipped the balance too far. I’m glad you didn’t go down that route and I sincerely wish you well. ❤
Yeah definitely 100% people have limits to what they can take, on the basis of her (its really just about how I think your mind is set as everyones different) it has been said she felt like after winning Strictly Come Dancing like there was cling film over her when she was waking up just couldnt get out of bed and coinciding with the fact the head I think it was who said how she was or more generally how people at where ever she studied think it was dance and drama said people who attend those places tend to be very self critical, say there was something seemingly fine to viewers but to them they hated it might have been what they felt like, just a general assumption to be honest even going on from that (I would have to say I am like this myself though in the tech industry in that context) creative people are incredibly sensitive genuinely creative people are (though doing reality shows for the most part she did do music I think and drama in a sort of college)

With the feelings after that competition of course this is just an assumption but when stressed out enough can be completely uncharacteristic of people plus with this video when sharing something about how it all came about as such, some can behave yea completely uncharacteristically horrible (as with the hitting of her partner I suppose), I can remember when having an argument with a creditor was completely unlike me just huge amounts of stress to the point they refused the refunding of charges (to be honest can't blame them for that at all, not that any of thats acceptable in anyway whatsoever).

The thing about its not as such uncommon for those having what I think with her was some kind of break down mentally, I am almost positive most would say they don't want people around but is the worst thing anyone can possibly do, much like this (though least slightly dubious if some actually said such things but yeah least resembles that sort of

I think being in the public eye and having to present this picture-perfect life, when all could be falling apart behind the scenes, must place somebody already struggling with their MH, into an even more impossible and cornered position. Add self-criticism and the negativity from press/trolls into the mix and it’s a like a ticking timebomb.

We all present a mask to the World to some degree and I can imagine the pressure of doing that when all’s not well, when you also have paps camped outside of your house and trying to effectively catch you out for their next embellished, bull story, must be pretty draining. Personally, I can’t think of anything worse than being famous and scrutinised to such a degree - yes, the money and lifestyle would be nice, but I value my anonymity and not having to look over my shoulder all of the time above any desire for that. 😬

And i’m very glad that things are much better for you now Katie, that’s really good to hear. 😊👍🏼

I genuinely feel that what drove her to take her life was the fear of her behaviour being 'outed' and shame that the image she displayed/portrayed to the public was going to be exposed.

She wasn't ashamed to admit she struggled at times. She'd openly spoken in interviews of her experiences of being in the public eye, pressure on her lifestyle and relationship. Mental health wasn't taboo. That said her job also brought her amazing opportunities and a lifestyle many could only dream of. She courted the media and they too kept her in their sights.

Whatever happened on THAT night, the releasing of evidence, the body cam footage, 999 call, photos of the scene etc mortified her.
We don't know for certain how many times IF ANY she'd previously acted in this way but THIS night it came on top for her.

The CPS quite rightly have to assess the evidence and decide whether to proceed regardless of whether the victim wants to press charges. Clearly there was enough to proceed.
This incident COULD have been the catalyst for her to finally take charge of her behaviour, see that she needed help, admit to herself that this lifestyle couldn't continue. She was in a position more than most of us to get the best help available.
Rather than do that she only envisioned the damage to her image this WOULD cause. She basically acted like her own judge and jury. She'd written herself off and sadly took dreadful, drastic action.
Whether this decision was made 'soundly' or was altered due to medication, drink or substance remains to be seen.

Who knows what the judge would decide. It's not even certain that a custodial sentence was even a given, going guilty doesn't necessarily mean jail. Chances are she'd have got a community order, suspended sentence and damages to victim and seek treatment for herself.
I'm unsure if information of any previous incidents IF THERE WERE ANY would be released to show it wasn't perhaps a one off. Her actions finally catching up with her.

Regardless she's suffered and paid the ultimate price. Damned if she did, damned if she didn't. Just bloody tragic.

Once the legal process is completed to confirm the cause of death, then it can actually take place quite quickly. However, if the close family are wanting certain people to be there then the logistics of finding the first “open” date can push things back.

That inspirational quote she put on instagram about being kind... does anyone know what that was about or why she posted it? Was it in relation to something that had happened?
Her instagram seems to be just a load of pictures of her posing in various clothes so just wondering why on that particular day she posted that instead of her in a vest or whatever.

this is what I think too, but then I think well wouldn’t you rather be alive and jobless than dead and buried. But I guess that’s over simplifying it. I’m sure her mind was in a dark place the last while and I do sympathise with that side of things

Everything is so true what you’ve said ! And obviously we don’t know what the prosecution would have brought up anything like this happening before/ex boyfriends ! It was definitely the shame and it was too much

I agree with this wholeheartedly. I think whatever was on that bodycam was the stuff of nightmares for her. It consumed her every thought it seems

Please don’t take what I say as offensive, but if you’re not from the U.K., why do you care so much about her death? Did you watch her in the US?

Because although I don’t live there, I live close to there and have all the uk channels so I’m in tune with her and have watched most of what she has hosted.
It’s such a small world now you don’t need to live in the same country to know who she is. And social media makes it even smaller.

I'm more than aware that Caroline Flack did harm to another and that's awful. Someone I know has BPD and I see a lot of similarities, in lack of control, emotional storms, anger then on the flipside, so loving and gentle and funny. I find it so very sad.

I think too that Caroline dreaded that footage coming out because she would have known LI would not have renewed her contract any time soon. Also at 40 in tv land, starting again after therapy, apologies etc. would have been difficult. So everything she had built up gone in an instant.

I believe had she pleaded guilty, sought therapy immediately and spoken about the wrong she did she could have kept her career. It's so heartbreaking that she wasn't pushed in that direction, the outcome may have been very different.
