These statistics are useless. In the 6 months before her death? Considering the fact that she was arrested, charged and was facing trial for assault by beating, it would've been sick if the articles were positive.
What were the articles like in the 6 months before she was arrested? That would have been relevant.

I’ve been lurking & reading all the posts here because since she passed, I’ve become very interested in Caroline where previously I didn’t really know the first thing about her life (Only that she had many boyfriends).

It seems Caroline was something of an enigma. One on hand she seemed pretty laidback and ‘one of the lads’ but then this arrest happened. Someone like me (with severe anxiety) would look at Caroline’s life and feel she was smashing it: living in London surrounded by good friends, a great job, money, always going here there and everywhere. Yet at the same time she was not well. I think even though she didn’t mind that her love life was publically splashed all over the papers she was fiercely private and protective about her mental health and was too proud to ever show she struggled. This thing that happened in December tore the lid off and took away her pride a lot. She did live TV for years while going through her breakdown and even spoke of a panic attack before air on X Factor. If that were me I just could not cope, I’d have to get away from the pressures. But she obviously had a strength and like someone said on here ‘some folk with depression light up in front of a camera, it’s when the camera is off the trouble begins’. I was reading that her PT wrote that After her breakup with Andrew in Jan 2019 she was doing 5 PT sessions per week, calling her PT the one constant in her life, but she also had a rep for being somewhat of a party girl so it will be interesting to see the Tox report just because it will tell us a lot.

PS: I’ve been reading this thread and others with mental health struggles who have bravely spoken have made me feel less alone. I saw a few who have posted that they have BPD. I follow a YouTube called ‘Mari Fitness’ who is the biggest inspiration, she opened up about her BPD and she does a lot of work to feel better and manage her symptoms. I thought I’d recommend her because it’s rare to see an influencer be so open and honest

This newspiece has just flashed up on my phone - granted it’s not a DV case, but the sentencing, considering he attacked 4 people without provocation, seems pretty lenient (4 charges of assault by beating, resulting in a 12-month community order and 100-hours of unpaid work). Wasn’t this the same crime that Caroline was charged with? Makes you wonder what the outcome would’ve been, had she been found guilty, although given that hers was a high-profile DV case, they may have made more of an example of her?

If found guilty of this crime, the sentencing begins at a non custodial point and then is adjusted for mitigating and/or aggravating features. For example, if she had previous convictions, the sentence is increased. If she has no previous convictions it could be decreased. There are many different things that the judge would look at in order to decide on a sentence, the maximum being 6 months.

This is an interesting article however, there’s a difference between Caroline Flack & the poor chap who tragically took his own life because he felt he would be ‘outed’ by his court case. Caroline Flack appears to have been more concerned with a loss of status than any shame, regret or remorse for her behaviour. I would also say that there are some so-called offences that haven’t kept pace with society that perhaps shouldn’t be brought to court and others like DV that need more resource to tackle.

I’m well aware of the CPS’ sentencing guidelines, mitigating factors, previous etc, but that doesn’t stop individual magistrates and judges applying those guidelines with some degree of variance.

A family friend of mine was murdered some time back and the trial will be going to court soon. There’s a reason that the prosecution and the police managing the case have told the victim’s family about the various judges sitting at the court, where the trial will be held and couched it in terms of how “hardline” some of them are, because they do have a degree of discretion in how they apply sentencing guidelines. Certain judges do gain reputations for being tougher in their sentencing, when people begin to compare like-for-like cases. It’s not as clearcut as many would like to think.

Right, well as your original post was you wondering the outcome of her trial if she were found guilty I was saying it would be something between non custodial and 6 months imprisonment

Of course the way judges apply the features will vary person to person, they're only human.

I don’t think it’s fair to say she was too proud to ever say she struggled. She was open about her depression, did interviews about it and posted Instagram posts referring to it

Sadly, we’ll never know whether the press attention would have impacted the outcome (I would hope not), but I would hope that whatever happened, she could have at some point retrieved her health, career and life, back to where she wanted it to be.

I’ve just read that she was found on her back after hanging.

Not to be too descriptive, but does that mean the rope likely broke after being suspended for some time?

From what I read on here, I understood that a family member found her suspended. When the police arrived, she was on her back and they started CPR.
