Genuinely curious on your thoughts- if a man had smashed a lamp over his girlfriends head, then committed suicide before the court case, what do think the public be saying about him? Do you think it would be different to what we're seeing regarding Caroline?
People would be saying he deserved it and good riddance.

The Chris brown comparison is apples and oranges, he didn't commit suicide and have people gushing over him.

Women can't be held to the same accountability as men according to most in this thread

A while back I had my Instagram account open. I use to want followers. I used the fact o was a single mum due to DV to advocate a persona and get followers. And then one day, I just looked around Instagram. And realised that it was full of the worst kind of people in life. Judgemental, two faced and witchy liars. I realised some big IG’s posted on here quite often. They often would tear other women down. Give abuse. To make themselves feel better. After a feud with one writer, which got me a lot of attention but grief at the same time, I realised that it wasn’t who I am. I’m not going to be part of that. So I left. And it’s those same women today posting how sad they are for Caroline Flack under false names who actually tore her down. Where were you? Did you support? No.

Second point. Caroline Flack took her own life. But the CPS are not to blame. Yes they continued prosecute without the key witness. They pressed charged and took it to court. But it’s because we live in a 0 tolerance country for DV. The CPS will always pursue a case that is linked with DV. And thank bloody god they do. As a survivor of DV, I’m glad they do. To protect everyone. However, I don’t agree with how they have continued to deal with her, I think the British justice system and bail/remand or prior to court cases massively lets down those going through it. Caroline isn’t the only person who’s died whilst on bail. People take their own lives in remand/bail weekly. It isn’t something new. As humans we need to realise that all behaviour is communication and sometimes those who commit crimes or harm or abuse others need help. Not always. But sometimes. And In the case of Caroline I believe she needed help for a long time.

The fault is entirely with the British media and press, social media and people who think tearing others down makes them better! There’s a lot of people who I know will read this and yes it’s aimed directly at you. Every time you post, people read what you say. Once you put it down online it can be seen forever. We do not live in a kind society, we live in a society were we laugh at others misfortunes and bully the weak or kick people at their most vulnerable times. It knocks me sick the likes of Stephanie Davis crying on Instagram when they know full well they are no angel, you have been the bully. You have bullied. And it made you feel good at the time. There’s plenty of women “mourning” the loss of Caroline today, you’re making it about yourself. It’s not about Caroline, it’s not about me, it’s not about you. People are dying! Suicide is a real thing! We are the cause of it.

I hope one day it changes. But don’t believe it will.
The tabloid media are indeed the rum of the earth. Nobody is saying that celebrities shouldn't be reported for their wrong doings, but look at the way broadsheets (Guardian/Independent/Times/Telegraph) report stories compared with The rum/Daily Fail etc who stalk, bully, harass and print blatant lies and fabricate stories which ruin people's lives.

The only way to stop them is to starve them of money, I have never bought a tabloid and never will, I also avoid clicking on any of their online websites. The people who write for them are all a bunch of hypocritical self serving vultures.

Flack being the gaslighting one, not him! Poor bloke is clearly the victim in all of this and I feel so sorry for him. But we're supposed to forget all that now, and say she's innocent apparently.
You can still feel empathy for the fact that someone has died so unnecessarily

I think we can all agree that there have been a lot of self serving celebrity tributes to Caroline. However, this one is really heartfelt in my opinion and worded beautifully.

For what it’s worth, from the moment this thing started (the assault back in December), I said I believed CF had borderline personality disorder. Obviously I didn’t know her but a quick look at the symptoms appears to explain her behaviour:
Signs and symptoms
  • Fear of abandonment. People with BPD are often terrified of being abandoned or left alone. ...
  • Unstable relationships. ...
  • Unclear or shifting self-image. ...
  • Impulsive, self-destructive behaviors. ...
  • Self-harm. ...
  • Extreme emotional swings. ...
  • Chronic feelings of emptiness. ...
  • Explosive anger.

My best friend was diagnosed with this he ticked everything on that list, sadly took his own life nearly 4 years ago now, I was also the one who found him. I've thought about nothing else but Caroline today. I can't help the sick feeling, I know I didn't know her personally but when you hear of a hopeless waste of life like this you're in the trenches with everyone else who has been affected by suicide in some way. ♥

In the first comment I left on here, you will see I said it was a shame. A life is a life at the end of the day. I've been in that position, and thankfully I survived. Suicide is awful, no one should have to feel like it's their only option. But even so, accountability for actions doesn't just disappear. I still have the same thoughts on the situation regardless. I'm not going to do exactly what all the celebrities are being bashed for on here, and give Flack a free pass now and paint her as an angel.

it seems an ambulance was scrambled to Caroline’s flat the night before. Are we to assume she had made threats to kill herself ? Why would an ambulance be scrambled.?

I read they were doing a welfare check...I wonder if the friend was at her's as they were concerned she may harm herself.

I work in a customer facing role and am often subjected to abuse. I think the kind of mats that abuse me will be the first to share memes about "be kind always, you never know what they're going though".
Carolines law is a load of tank. It's just people saying say what I want to hear or shut up.
someone posted earlier that people drinking and taking c are 16 times more likely to commit suicide. That along with having mental health issues is most likely to have killed the love island presenter.
if someone is struggling and in a vulnerable state mentally... booze and c are a lethal combination ... it makes the paranoia worse unfortunately she was her own worst enemy in her hours of need.

Often here for the Hinch threads but I’m glad I found this one.
It’s terribly terribly sad. Laura Whitmore did a lovely speech on her show this morning.

But the way people change their opinions on her now that she’s died is just hypocritical.
I know people who dragged her name through the mud after the allegations etc and now today are posting that silly quote and saying how upset they are and that they are always there for people in need.

unfortunately it’s just another bandwagon for people to jump on and promote their own agendas.

I feel for her family having to go through all this and have to see and hear what’s being said.
But she was a very troubled lady and she ultimately made that decision to end her life.
There can’t be any blame to anyone else.
She did it because of her actions and her demons.

That's what I thought too. It really rang bells for me. If she'd got off c and alcohol, and then undergone some sort of therapy for BPD, she'd have had a damned good chance of living a happy life, though she may have had to leave showbiz with all its temptations behind.

The tabloid front pages today made me so angry when I saw them. Daily fail in particular has a description of her at the top of the front page, calling her a troubled romantic who never found true love. Dread to think what the article inside the paper says about her. Regardless of what she did and the public’s opinion of her, she was someone’s daughter, sister, friend and it’s unfair on her grieving family to have to see headlines like that. (I understand they will avoid reading anything like that- but they won’t be able to avoid seeing everything). I’m not saying she deserves a gushing article about how wonderful she was-just report the fact that she’s died and leave it 😡

Genuinely why has an explosion of mental health come up about CF? If we think back to pre-allegations, were there concerns for her mental health? Or is it just now when she was shown to the world as a domestic abuser and she got - pardon the pun - flack for it and couldn’t take the sourness? She seemed fine with adoration and didn’t mind comments then but then this happened, and the worlds opinion changed a lot and a court case is confirmed and boom now because of this, MH is thrown around and no one is allowed to say anything because it’s not kind

Like. Really?

I think the fact that she actually committed suicide is enough to say she had a mental health problem.

But a lot of people are using it as a scapegoat to excuse her from her past actions

Its because its a very sensitive subject and usually people are pretty vulnerable. it rightly should be dealt with caution not brassness.

Oh I know with the suicide thing but it’s the depression/BPD/anxiety people are throwing out I can’t see where it came from aside from her own actions with smashing the guy with a lamp while he slept x

Sure, but were there concerns before it all came out about the abuse?
