I'm not sure why you or anyone else needed to be aware of it for it to count. I've had events in my childhood that have caused mental health issues but I haven't shouted it from the roof tops or told everyone that I met. So maybe just because Caroline didn't publicise her mental health issues/do a tell all interview, it doesn't mean she wasn't struggling with something. She quite clearly was.

I haven’t said it doesn’t count. I’m wondering why nothing came up in the media - these things only seem to come out once this happens. It was a genuine question not sarcastic speculation

I say "I think" because the court case will never be heard so it is not something we can ever know. It is almost guaranteed that the footage and witness statements would have been used by the prosecution, and sounds like it would have been quite effective.
What we do know for sure is that the victim did not want her prosecuted, he has stated this publicly.

Obviously they were going to use all of that stuff but you were implying that it would have backed up the prosecutors comments about the head injury and you don’t know that.

I would like to have known what evidence the CPS had for this case which they thought was so solid though. No point speculating now of course.

I'm not sure where the thinking that it was at the police station. I'm fairly certain she would have been cuffed at the station. Would be impressive if she managed to flip a table in cuffs.

I have to say the general levels of virtue signalling by people jumping on the bandwagon is truly eye roll inducing. The celebrities who were so publicly quiet when the shit hot the fan who are shamelessly posting a photo of themselves with her in happier times and talking about what a beautiful soul she was? Do one. Why didnt you speak up when it would have actually made a difference?! And then there's a whole load of people referencing her when posting completely unrelated images. Two interiors accounts that I follow on instagram who I actually like have posted "omg so sad about Caroline" type posts...with accompanying immaculate photos of their show home-esque houses. WTAF?! One of those include the hash tags hincharmy, imahincher and ifyouknowyouknow. Seriously!!! Unfollowed...

That is disgusting. How mercenary these shallow people are. Makes me feel sick.

I took sertraline of which apparently CF took, it hit me so hard. I felt sick constantly and I just wanted to ram my car into the nearest wall. I told this to my husband I felt so alone. They changed me to citalopram same thing. Also experienced very low mood on certain contraceptive pills, certainly have an imbalance for sure. Perhaps Caroline had bipolar disorder? I have a friend with this who’s a frequent cocaine user... She really takes a-lot and drinks wine along with her bpd meds and Crohn’s disease. It’s just such a cocktail I believe it’s her survival mechanism as she was abused when she was young. We don’t know anyone’s story and I’m not making excuses for Caroline but to me she just always looked sad and needy. I mean that in an understanding way. Maybe she took it out on her partner/partners almost as an outlet, her frustration? Again not condoning her actions just trying to understand the make up of her. We all make bad decisions no one is perfect.

I'm on Sertaline too and have to see my doctor once a month and being questioned about my mood and suicide thoughts. Same as you the first few weeks were horrible.
And wanting to get off them, my doctor won't allow it ..

Firstly to be sectioned you have to be very very unwell (though she sounds like she was) and you need to have understanding of the system as it sounds like perhaps she was fooling people into thinking she was fine. When you’ve seen it once I think it’s easy to say to professionals that what they are seeing is an act but it may have been everyone’s first time with someone who needs urgent mental health treatment. Regarding the charges, I have worked in criminal law and to be fit for interview simply means you need to be of sound mind to understand the questions, the nature of the crime you’ve been arrested for and be able to answer questions. Again if you know the system as soon as you call 999 and say you’ve been assaulted in a domestic incident the power is taken out of you’re hands. I have had partners begging officers to ‘drop the charges’ but it is indeed in the public interest to pursue it because if they didn’t and she had killed him massive questions would be raised. As soon as he said she’d assaulted him in a call that’s all the evidence they need for a conviction, that and bodycam footage. Lots of abusers have serious mental health issues, maybe this was a one off but could the police chance it when it’s their job to protect people have been heavily criticised in the past?? She should have been sectioned as soon as they saw the self harm injuries but the system is on its knees and unless you know how to work it they’ll treat you at home.

Even if she'd pled guilty, the facts of the case would still be outlined when sentencing her although not in as much detail (I think - that's certainly what happens when a defendant pleads guilty in a murder trial)

Not sure if the bodycam footage, crime scene photographs and 999 call would have been made public if she had.

It would have saved the media onslaught of a two day trial though.

Yes but stuff like the body cam footage wouldn’t have been out there which I’ve seen mentioned a few times as it obviously showed her in a state. Guess it doesn’t matter now. As I said before it’s just sad she couldn’t see any other way out

there is limited info out there re Andrew Brady. But what is out there hints at the idea she’d threatened suicide in arguments.

I’ve had similar re my mum. It’s horrible. My mum did it to be cruel. She was in a hell pit, in hospital at the time. She was a genuine suicide risk, but that comment was designed to cut me. And to manipulate me. Thank god we’re through it now.

Who knows what happened. The whole thing is sad and a tragedy.
