I'm not sure where the thinking that it was at the police station.
The prosecutor is quoted as saying it in court (although she does only appear to say ‘in custody’ and people think that means a custody suite which is fair assumption tbh). She also said this:
“But Katie Weiss, prosecuting, replied: 'Mr Burton is a victim, he received significant injury to his head.'”
https://www.archive.is/oldest/https...nd-Lewis-Burton-arrives-court-appearance.html

Whereas the police statement contradicts her:
“A police spokesperson confirmed the news, sharing a statement with Metro.co.uk: ‘Caroline Flack of Islington was charged on Friday, 13 December with assault by beating.

‘She will appear on bail at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court on Monday, 23 December. This follows an incident at approximately 05:25hrs on Thursday, 12 December after reports of a man assaulted. He was not seriously injured.’”

So who knows what actually happened with the table or how serious the head injury was? This is why we’ll never get the true story by reading the papers.

Did anyone read her autobiography she released in 2015?

I was reading the reviews and noticed a reviewer said:

I felt uncomfortable with the inclusion of the letters from Kips as it seemed as though a personality disorder or learning disability was involved. I understand that the missives demonstrate the level of intrusion and fear that can come the way of contemporary celebrities but this element could have been dealt with differently.

Genuinely curious on your thoughts- if a man had smashed a lamp over his girlfriends head, then committed suicide before the court case, what do think the public be saying about him? Do you think it would be different to what we're seeing regarding Caroline?
Women can't be held to the same accountability as men according to most in this thread

According to my friend it was- she had actually tried to slash her own throat, that was how the whole thing came about. She read texts on his phone while he was asleep and began self harming with a kitchen knife. He woke and tried to stop her. The hitting him in the head with the lamp was as a result of him trying to get the knife off her and she picked up the first thing to hand to fend him off. Almost all of the blood at the scene was hers.
Honest question no pun intended how do you know these details

But this is my point; how do you (or any of us) know that didn’t happen? According to some papers that is exactly what happened. I think it’s possible that when the ambulance trust said in their statement that they’d taken ‘a person’ to hospital, the papers assumed it was the boyfriend. Maybe it was him they took, maybe it wasn’t. I think the inquest will answer a lot of questions but until the very few people know what happened, including the press.
The most recent articles I've read say that she was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment for self inflicted injuries to the wrist.

It’s all very murky isn’t it though and there are lots of ‘yes but what ifs’.

For example, yes but what if they’d retraced it all after he said he didn’t want to press charges and she said she wasn’t guilty, but then there was another incident where she did actually kill him? Or he left her and she did it to someone else? Sounds drastic I know and I’m not trying to say that would have happened or that she was necessarily capable of murder, but what would have happened if that did happen? CPS would have had his blood on their hands then wouldn’t they for not prosecuting a more minor assault? And then the media/social media storm would have been even worse.

I’m just saying, what happened, happened. There could have been a number of different scenarios if things had happened even slightly differently. Doesn’t take away the fact that it’s just all really sad though 😕
youre very right and my thoughts exactly.
A mate of mine went for a job in school and they throughly investigated her. She was so oddneded till I pointed out;
OK what if something happened in one of your boys (she has 3) schools that was seemingly down to s classroom attendant who hadn’t been background checkd!? Little odd topic but same thing x

This made me so fucking sad. That whole post she did made me sad-imagine confiding in someone (and I’m sure she considered who to confide in carefully, not like she would have just picked the first name in her phone book). Imagine someone coming to you for support and you telling them they are draining? So sad.

from what I can see Dawn O’Porter publicly supported her and I saw paddy mcguinness post a screenshot where he had messaged his support at the end of last hear. I’m sure many others may have done the same but I feel she could have done with the public support of other celebs. All these tributes now when they couldn’t bare to potentially have their careers tarnished by associating with her when the shit hit the fan for her makes me feel ill. From looking at tributes now it would seem she had so many friends but deep down I’d say the amount of good friends she had was very low-maybe she felt that way too.

very sad and complex situation

I’m looking at this from a different angle, having had very dark thoughts in the past, and been severely depressed. At times when I have reached out to friends and family, because my thoughts were so negative any advice they gave me I always spun it to be negative also. To the point where I would argue because I felt they didn’t want to really help, I was a lost cause and I felt that’s how they saw me and treated me when really they only ever loved me and were deeply concerned. But my negative head told me differently. Sorry for the waffle I’m not sure if I have explained that too well. So maybe in her head she felt she was draining,
No, I disagree. That's putting the blame for her death on a victim (proven or otherwise). That's like saying no victim should never report as their assailant may commit suicide (a large percentage threaten this in wake of regret of their actions).

Her death is heartbreaking, truly awful. But despite so many calling her a 'girl', she was a 40 year old woman. Caroline made decisions, many decisions many times. No one else can be blamed for her decisions. Reading what I have about the friend leaving her to have a quick trip out of the house, she was determined in her last decision. 😢
Totally agree with all of this. What I don’t understand is why would the friend ‘pop to the shops’ when they had the ambulance out as CF in a bad way the night before? I’m sure the friend must be feeling bloody awful, but I just thought it to be a little odd.
CFs last insta post, the one with her dog I thought she looked incredibly thin and also on something. I can’t imagine this weeks alleged revelations about Lewis texting another woman and asking for a meet up has helped the situation either, after all she was extremely insecure about alleged cheating back in December as to why apparently this all kicked off in the first place. A very sad situation for all involved

Firstly to be sectioned you have to be very very unwell (though she sounds like she was) and you need to have understanding of the system as it sounds like perhaps she was fooling people into thinking she was fine. When you’ve seen it once I think it’s easy to say to professionals that what they are seeing is an act but it may have been everyone’s first time with someone who needs urgent mental health treatment. Regarding the charges, I have worked in criminal law and to be fit for interview simply means you need to be of sound mind to understand the questions, the nature of the crime you’ve been arrested for and be able to answer questions. Again if you know the system as soon as you call 999 and say you’ve been assaulted in a domestic incident the power is taken out of you’re hands. I have had partners begging officers to ‘drop the charges’ but it is indeed in the public interest to pursue it because if they didn’t and she had killed him massive questions would be raised. As soon as he said she’d assaulted him in a call that’s all the evidence they need for a conviction, that and bodycam footage. Lots of abusers have serious mental health issues, maybe this was a one off but could the police chance it when it’s their job to protect people have been heavily criticised in the past?? She should have been sectioned as soon as they saw the self harm injuries but the system is on its knees and unless you know how to work it they’ll treat you at home.
I understand this completely. My brother was involved in a DV charge, his girlfriend had beaten him and then harmed herself she made herself look vulnerable and that he has done it. Thankfully his injuries and hers were not consistent with what she had spun to the police.
she was finally sectioned after another attempt of harming him and herself. It was devastating to witness on both parts. Both seemed to be so vulnerable but the blame seemed to be on both parts. My brother is no saint. He’s many demons which thankfully through time we are resolving as a family.
but toxic relationship after relationship does not help on either a Female or males side
If that makes any sense. I’m not very good at posting things personal to make sense .

It’s very very difficult to get somebody sectioned these days. My close relative stabbed him self in the face, tried to jump off a bridge, walked down the middle of a busy road trying to get himself knocked over and he BEGGED multiple times for the psychiatric ward to admit him and they wouldn’t. I had to sit with him in front of his doctor and beg on his behalf, it wasn’t until I started saying is this now the cheapest solution to dealing with MH issues - suicide - that he got on the phone and we finally got him admitted. If CF was trying to mask or play down her MH issues it would have been easy for her to evade the help she clearly needed.
I know. It is horrendous. And seeing one social media the way some people who were meant to be her friends using this to somehow benefit themselves is absolutely disgusting, the pt is basically selling his services through this. Stephanie Davis May want to help but doing public interviews etc? I wonder what her sister with children thinks of all of that. It’s awful.

No no you misunderstand me

Not because of the bloke. He was 100% right to report her. I think the others should have done the same when they were at the other end of her

I believe she did this because she had a case coming up and didn’t want to face it. X
Sorry I misunderstood. The whole situation is so complex. ☹

it seems an ambulance was scrambled to Caroline’s flat the night before. Are we to assume she had made threats to kill herself ? Why would an ambulance be scrambled.?
I read they were doing a welfare check...I wonder if the friend was at her's as they were concerned she may harm herself.

It’s very sad and she was obviously in a bad place. If you look at her last Instagram post she looks like she’s under the influence of something. I wished she had got help but I hate that people are going to use her death to say that the Police shouldn’t proceed with convictions when the victims withdraw their statements. Domestic violence is so dangerous and action needs to be taken whether the victim supports it or not.
An why so you think she “looked under the influence of something”?? We’re is that coming from ? All I see is a beautiful lady looking happy with her dog , Jesus Christ the bullshit people come out with an you wonder why shit happens , that has got to be one of the most pathetic things I’ve read today

Oh, apologies if this has already been posted but I hadn't realised she was renting a loft in Stoke Newington which is where she was found. I thought she was still living at the place in Islington.
