I agree with Caroline’s law. Nobody should have their name reported until they have been found guilty & possibly until they have exhausted the appeals process.
Let the rags find another way of paying the bills.
Media reporting of court cases is regulated https://www.ipso.co.uk/media/1511/court-reporting-public.pdf

I completely disagree with the idea that court cases should not be open to the public. That is one way of holding our justice system to account, ensuring the right processes are followed for a fair trial and that we are able to hear the facts for ourselves. Behind closed door, how would you be confident that the legal system is working??

The criminal justice system has to be transparent, we cannot knee jerk change the rules because of celebrities going to court. For all we know, the prosecution case might have been weak and CF would have been able to defend the charge - again with transparency this allows any defendant to clear their name publicly with out the public wondering “how they got off”. The transparency works both ways.

Yes, who’s PT?
Bradley Simmonds was Carolines personal trainer (PT) for a while. His sister posted a rather crass post about Caroline yesterday and there is some thought that it was for likes and clicks.

Genuinely why has an explosion of mental health come up about CF? If we think back to pre-allegations, were there concerns for her mental health? Or is it just now when she was shown to the world as a domestic abuser and she got - pardon the pun - flack for it and couldn’t take the sourness? She seemed fine with adoration and didn’t mind comments then but then this happened, and the worlds opinion changed a lot and a court case is confirmed and boom now because of this, MH is thrown around and no one is allowed to say anything because it’s not kind

Like. Really?

I can't comment on Caroline and her boyf Lewis as far as manipulation or culpability goes, but I feel Mel B definitely tried to play the victim card when she is just as bad as her ex husband (Stephen whateverhisnameis). And there's rumours the poor kids may be suffering, which is the worst aspect of all. (Anyway, before I get told I'm going OT...)

If it's true and CF was self-harming in the lead up to the assault, you'd think they would tread more carefully in these cases and offer her counselling, try to ascertain how at risk she was? She might have been a candidate for sectioning, if she was so distressed/acting irrationally. She still had to face the music, and she would have to accept that. All I recall reading about CF in recent days was when she was doing indoor climbing day out with a female producer friend and she seemed pretty upbeat (I know pictures don't tell the whole story, but I thought she was doing okay).

Suicide is often an impulsive act (I know this because, well, I know...) and it's so sad she (probably) didn't have people watching over her.
When someone’s arrested and there are allegations/evidence of self harm, they see a nurse in custody and if appropriate they are assessed for sectioning by an AMHP. The benchmark for sectioning is set extremely high, so in reality sectioning rarely happens. Individuals who are deemed vulnerable are offered an Appropriate Adult during police interview.

I know this is irrelevant and off topic but I just watched her stories and seen she was out drinking/partying. I can’t pass judgement because for all I know she could’ve been drinking mocktails, but wasn’t Steph Davis in rehab or something for alcohol and said she was an alcoholic, I’m not 100% sure?

Really saddened of the news about Caroline, regardless of what happened she hadn’t been convicted guilty or innocent yet as she hadn’t stood trial. I do think Ant and PS didn’t get the same vitriol from the press as she did.

I hope she’s at peace and her family and boyfriend are being looked after tonight.
Just watched and yes it does seem pretty obvious she’s drinking. It really p**sses me off when a celeb does a dramatic outing of themselves as an alcoholic and then continues drinking like its NBD. Terrible influence

Because ITV certainly seems to be protecting its male stars much more than its female. Ant - drink problem, could have caused a much more serious accident than he did, went to court. What did ITV do? Wrap him in cotton wool.
Philip Schofield - it was starting to come out that he had groomed a young runner on TM in 2011 and the runner in question was about to sell his story. What did ITV do? Advised PS to out himself so people felt sorry for him and would discredit any stories that were about to come out.
Caroline Flack ALLEGEDLY (and that’s the important word here) clouts her boyfriend around the head with a lamp but said boyfriend said it’s untrue and didn’t want to press charges yet it was still going to be dragged through the courts. What did ITV do? Writes a generic “we support Caroline” statement with an undertone of “we’re done with her” and left her out to dry. I have a friend who works in the media and the stuff you hear is literally unreal but, as long as people hang on the media’s every word and believe things they weren’t party to, you will always have a Caroline Flack who feels they can no longer go on
Let’s not forget by the same principal you are say CF and alleged so you have to speak of PS as alleged. You can’t pick and choose the word ALLEGED when it suits you. PS has not been found guilty of anything and there is no investigation for him unlike with CF.
I don’t mind if people feel they need to defend CF now she’s passed away but at least don’t be a hypocrit

I think when it comes to the friend nipping out - I very much doubt that her friend even contemplated Caroline doing what she did. The boyfriend post was for Valentines Day. They’ve been forced into not contacting each other since Christmas so that was his way of declaring his love still, timed with the fact that it was Valentines Day. Apparently she found out the day before that the case was still going to go to court in a matter of weeks and it seems that Caroline didn’t see a way out seeing as the CPS wanted to make an example out of this situation and maybe she couldn’t face the embarrassment. In terms of her boyfriend, and I mentioned this in an earlier comment, I really hope that he his being watched over by family and friends at this moment. We only have to see what happened to Sophie Gradon’s partner to know that there’s a chance this won’t end well. Caroline and Lewis’ relationship was most likely volatile and it certainly seems that the two of them were emotionally and mentally unstable but for it to have been played out in the media as much as it was just makes me feel so so uncomfortable
Where do you get the CPS wanted to make an example of her? It says a lot when they go ahead without the support of the victim. It means they have a very strong case along with all the footage of the night in question

I’ve not seen anybody at all make her out to be a saint. Just that she didnt deserve to die. Which she didnt
I never said she did. And I never would. But a lot of people are making out that the domestic violence charges were just mean stories about her

Sorry I missed what he said could you enlighten me please
During the awards ceremony in London last month, the Hedgehog character from ITV’s The Masked Singer appeared on stage and Walliams insinuated that Flack was inside the costume. He said: ‘It’s nice to see Caroline Flack back on TV.’ His remark was met with boos from the audience.

That being said I hope he now doesn’t get abuse and trolling from the same people on Twitter who are preaching about mental health in the wake of Caroline’s death. The joke wasn’t that bad, I just thought of it instantly because at the time I felt a bit sorry for her.

Please educate yourself. Autism is not a mental health issue like depression or anxiety it is actually a neurodisability and it physically affects how autistics interact with the world.
I don’t doubt there are genuine autistic children in schools.....however I personally know several parents who have not medically diagnosed their children but always blame the oh they have adhd or say wrongly or rightly they are autistic....when in reality they are just naughty children!!!! That’s my point ..... too many people look for medical diagnosis for what is bad behaviour and can’t be bothered to actually parent the children and disaplin them or in adults cases take responsibility for their actions and are quick to throw their hands up and claim they are depressed and suffer with mental health.... it’s just takes resources away from the truly needy people who genuinely have severe mental health issues

The woman is still dead. At 40 years old. I find it completely tragic.
That anyone would find themselves in a situation where that was their only option is harrowing. She had faults, made mistakes like we all do. Yes, she was charged with assault but didn't stand trial and as is the law and as we all deserve she was innocent until proven guilty and thank fuck we all have that right.
The only thing she is guilty of is living her life in the public eye. Being constantly judged must be extraordinarily wearing. Facing her most shameful behaviours being played out must have been too much to contemplate.
By your logic I should start saying Harvey Weinstein is innocent too then? How about Jeffrey Epstein? He never got to Court and killed himself, so lets start saying he was innocent too

If you'd actually read what I’d said I said no one actually knows what happened, including me, everyone has there opinions & point of views & thats exactly why we are where we are now. No one knows apart from who was involved but still it was in the papers. Is that right? Ok? Fair? Actually legal? & yes I do believe that papers shouldn’t be able to report unless there actually found guilty in any matter BUT we trust our courts to do the right thing to the people who deserve it. For the record I actually wasn’t Caroline’s biggest fan not for any particular reason apart from I thought there were better presenters but I’ve never said a bad word about her. I just wouldn’t, unless they really deserve it (pedophiles/murderers etc)
Surprising to see an advocate of censorship on a gossip website

Could part of the issue be the slow nature of the English justice system?
She was accused in early December and then had to wait 4 months for a trial.
4 months of not working, presumably not seeing her partner, and 4 months of the press going after her.
If the case had come round quicker iy would have been old news very quickly.

I also think she got some very bad legal advice and should have pleaded guilty at the first chance if she assaulted him- no matter the reason for assaulting him.

It’s just incredibly sad and tragic. In that moment she must of felt so desperate, hurt and alone. No one should ever feel that way.

I hope her family and friends have access to the right support through this. The support Caroline needed. Some of the messages her boyfriend are receiving on his posts are absolutely disgusting.

Mental health is so complex and a build up of so many factors in that persons life if not dealt with becomes so heavy for them. My heart goes out to her family and friends.

I know so many of you have strong opinions and have disagreed with me but most people on here are staying respectful while sharing their thoughts at least. I'm just so tired of seeing all these jokes about her all over my Facebook seriously disgusting. So wrong don't know if people have seen similar things but I won't be mentioning them to give it attention. I know many of you don't care for her but I do feel sad that some of my so called "friends and family" can joke about someone killing themselves when they have only just passed and can't help but wonder how many other people will be feeling more alone. Thinking those they could open up too don't even take mental health seriously. I get people hate what she did but don't be the one to slam her for it. I think the forgiving should be the desicion of those wronged. He forgave her. Why should people continue to berate her, even now?

So so sad she did could not see any other way, to go through the personal life stuff whilst in the spotlight is a whole other level and pressure.
I was attacked by a man, ( a random who obviously had major anger issues when drunk) the charge was assault by beating, after being found guilty it was revealed to court that he had the same conviction previously - against a previous partner.
Caroline obviously has issues and her case was against a partner but who knows if those issues would have shown themselves elsewhere. So partner or not the csp have felt that her case is worthy of court, that isn’t taken lightly.

The difference between Joe on DOI and his obvious genuine upset and Phil ‘Tiny Tears Ken Doll’ crying over someone he never even worked with or knew unlike Joe. Never miss an opportunity eh Phil especially to make it all about you.

Flack being the gaslighting one, not him! Poor bloke is clearly the victim in all of this and I feel so sorry for him. But we're supposed to forget all that now, and say she's innocent apparently.
You can still feel empathy for the fact that someone has died so unnecessarily

The only way to stop them is to starve them of money, I have never bought a tabloid and never will, I also avoid clicking on any of their online websites. The people who write in them are all a bunch of hypocritical self serving vultures.
What's really hypocritical is the people that buy the papers are now blaming them. If people didn't read it they wouldn't make it.

So much for the ITV family! They bent over backwards for Phillip Schofield and Ant McPartlin.

I have read so many things concerning the suicide of Caroline Flack, & no matter what it was her personal choice to end her life.
I come from a family that has had many suicides & people all look for reasons but most of the time before they do it they be one very calm so no one can anticipate their subsequent actions. It was reported her friend who had been staying with her for support went to the shops and was unable to get back into her home.
Hopefully she has the peace she wanted & her family get the support they need.
I wasn't a fan of her alive but death is so final.
Talking from personal experience only, suicide doesn't feel like a choice. It often feels like the only option.
