I know. So bloody tone deaf. I am no expert but I think the British press is incredibly heavily regulated already - the government won't waste time looking into it any further unless lines have been crossed (no idea if they have tbh). Vanity project for JJ.
She is disgusting. Have you read the thread about her? Such a vulture preying on people.

Tonight’s episode makes for strange viewing. Either the islanders are being nicer to/about each other than they usually are, or the show is being edited to show less tension. The challenges usually cause some tension and awkwardness but this in this challenge, they’re all joking around with each other and being really nice.

not meaning to derail the thread, just an observation from the episode. I thought Ian sterling’s speech at the start was lovely.
His speech was beautiful. Sounded like his heart was breaking, which really is all that this whole thing is. Heartbreaking whatever went on. Another person in the world has taken their life.

I love being a part of this site, trolls or whatever they say we are supportive of each other ❤

I think she’s always come across as a bit of a troubled soul and obviously couldn’t cope with the negative attention towards her. No matter what the situation, everyone is innocent until proven guilty, how she’s been treated by the press and, more importantly, ITV has been nothing short of disgusting. Look at ITVs treatment of Ant McPartlin - he got into a car accident whilst under the influence and thank god didn’t kill anyone or, seriously harm anyone. What did ITV do? Wrapped their arms around him, told him to take off as much time as he needed and that there would be a job for him to come back to. What happened to Caroline? They hung her out to dry whilst the CPS tried to make an example of her and for what reason? Her boyfriend didn’t want to press charges and whilst some feel that that in itself is a sign of manipulation from her part, we will never ever know the truth. I just hope her family has the strength to get through this awful awful time
.

Didn’t she step down from Love Island by her own volition? ‘Celebrities’ court the limelight when it is in their favour but can’t handle it when those tables turn. There’s good and bad in everything and if what is alleged is true than that was her doing. This isn’t me saying that I am not saddened that she felt this was the only way out as she obviously had issues that were out of her control. It’s all so very sad.

I’m amazed the narrative is being pushed to be the media. Emma Kenny (from TM) has decided it’s trolls.
I was quite amazed by Emma Kenny's outright hypocrisy on TM today. If CF had gone to trial, she'd have no doubt aggressively led an interview & phone-in on stamping out female perpetrators of DV.

I'm not going to click on that link but if she broke down when talking about a similar aged woman committing suicide after being vilified in the media, I think that's understandable.
A lot of people who've never had anything to do with her have been affected by this. Sometimes things just strike a nerve.
Perhaps Katona has come close to rock bottom herself and is shaken because of that.
I agree. I was watching the Kerry interview live yesterday and I thought she handled it really well. Her upset was obviously down to both Caroline dying and likening it to her own experiences (which I personally don’t think there’s anything wrong with). I’m not a lover or loather of celebs in general but I think Kerry has had a troubled life herself, and the messages she sent to CF were supportive.
When she talked about her own feelings of suicide and how she’s been treat by certain people my heart went out to her.

That is true unfortunately in the cut throat celeb world they are afraid of loosing their own careers too much
Alot took a step away from her than towards her

I'm sure she felt very lonely and let down, nothing worse than being alone and feeling let down by your friends when your mentally not ok
I feel so sorry for her, yes she did wrong. But she could have just completed the punishment the courts planned to hand her, gone to rehab, gott away from it all for a bit then come back with bigger and better. 😔

If I see another ‘in a world where you can be anything, be kind’ post I think I’ll scream! No one on earth is 100% kind 100% of the time. Am I just being a fucking bitch or is this not common knowledge? I think it is far more useful to encourage people to love themselves, be confident and not give a flying fuck about what strangers think about them.
I think it’s so cringeworthy too! 🤢

Cocaine doesn’t dilate your pupils they increase in size
dilate means ‘increase in size’ 😉 but regardless that is pure speculation. I’ve seen many people on it and it’s not a given you can spot immediately! Pupil size in pictures can be related to the amount of light source in the room/area.

I saw an article that her dog Ruby was booked in to a dog hotel/spa for yesterday and they were only speaking with Caroline last week ☹
The sad thing is with mental health is that you can become very very good at covering (I do this, most people would think I’m very very happy on the outside!).
Her family and friends know she was depressed, suicidal even but it would’ve been very very hard for someone to be with Caroline 24/7. Especially when you have a grown up telling you they’re fine while you pop to the shops, or didn’t need someone with her every night.
In reality if she felt suicidal and depressed and desperate enough to end her life, if not Saturday she’d have sadly done it another day.

I think it’s ridiculous to speculate that Caroline was “on coke” whilst at home playing with her dog. Coke is a recreational drug that people use with friends to experience a momentary high. Yes, there is a chance she took that too far and was taking it as more than that, but I also think that it’s far more likely she was medicating via anti-depressants and drinking and that combination with poor mental health may have contributed to her death. It’s so naive to spread lies about her being “high on coke” and frankly makes you sound 15 years old 🙄
Lots of people take cocaine way more than just recreationally with friends.

I didn't say she was taking cocaine when she died and that it contributed to her death at all. I just think she looks under the influence of something (my guess would be cocaine) in that photograph given the size of her pupils. She definitely doesn't look right. And I have absolutely no doubt she was self medicating at home with drink and illegal drugs as I have previously stated.

I'm not spreading lies, I never said it was a fact - just stating my opinion.

Let's just leave it there now please.

Yet after all of this young people will still aspire to being famous. She has a sister with children who is out of all of the limelight, I know which life I’d choose.

Is it sad that she died .. Yes 100%. Any lose of life is something no one should take lightly. But what I’m seeing now are people using her death as a standing ground to promote further privilege for the most wealthy in this country.

Caroline’s problems where her own, no one person or media outlet is responsible for her death - personal accountability needs to be factored into this. She made the choice to take her own life and that needs to be accepted. But celebrities are staring change.org petitions to inforce laws that will seek better protection for them. If you decide to live your life in the public eye the. You honestly need to deal with widespread criticism that comes with it.

Genuinely curious on your thoughts- if a man had smashed a lamp over his girlfriends head, then committed suicide before the court case, what do think the public be saying about him? Do you think it would be different to what we're seeing regarding Caroline?
They’d be calling him a coward. And speculating about what else was about to come out. Plain and simple.

oh christ....15 mins?? i wonder if caroline had pretended to be feeling brighter and had requested something from the shops meaning she got that window of time? its sounding like the method was as mentioned by another poster. how horrific for the poor people finding her

doesn't it take a while for anti depressants to start to work? maybe it gets worse before it gets better with them
Within about 10 days of starting Prozac I literally became obsessed with committing suicide, I thought about it continuously and planned it meticulously. I truly was not in my right mind and even started hallucinating. People underestimate how dangerous these prescribed drugs are. Especially if you mix them with alcohol and or illegal drugs.
Couldn’t agree more. I’ve worked in Mental Health for around 8 years now and people truly don’t understand it. I still can’t believe how many people think it’s a “one size fits all”. If one person takes a medication then they’ll experience the same effects. It’s a very difficult thing to get your head around.

Andrew Brady was the first one to slam her, share his nda and say that she’d abused him. I said at the time he was disgusting and here he is again.
why wasn’t he saying she was a good person when he was trying to tear her down and messaging her boyfriend when it occurred. Utter prick
I knew this would happen - he hung her out to dry and his “I’ve been abused” shit gave narrative to the whole piece and now he’s back tracking.

It didn't happen like that. She wasn't even treated by the medics at the scene because she had no visible injuries other than slight cuts on her arms from the smashed lamp.
The bloke was the one who was treated for blood loss from his head injuries at the scene and caroline was hauled off to the police station.
Do you really think the cops put her in a cop car in handcuffs if she had throat wounds?Or questioned her at the station as she was leaking blood profusely from a slashed throat?
It's hugely tragic but rewriting history is silly and does her no favours. Keep it real.
The last article I read (yesterday) said Caroline was taken to hospital for treatment and questioned 12 hours later and the boyfriend had no significant injuries, so I guess if none of us were there or have access to the records, we can’t know which version is true.

Strange that these z listers who are gushing "be kind" didn't seem to be around for her when she was going through the worst of this scandal she was embroiled in. I believe Russell Brand persuaded her to get away to LA and get some therapy which she did but nobody else seemed to stand by her. She had a non celeb with her the day she died so she must have been a loyal friend, I wonder if CF persuaded her to go out and do some shopping for her so that she could kill herself?

Caroline Flack's boyfriend reveals his pain after her death

#

Ambulance services were apparently called out for a welfare check on Friday evening. Such a sad, sorry situation all round.

I think journalists/media/social media has a lot to answer for - she was hounded in the months following the DV arrest up until her death. I am NOT condemning what CF done - DV is NOT acceptable in any circumstances.

Clearly, something happened that night for CPS to press charges despite the victim not wanting to. Whether this was a one-off, isolated incident or something that had occurred previously we don’t (and probably never will) know. I don’t think CPS can be blamed for the situation - nobody is above the law, and they obviously had enough evidence to decide to proceed with a case against CF.

However, what I will say, is the media HOUNDED her daily in the days, weeks and months following the incident. That was unnecessary and will most likely not have helped her mental health. She always seemed like a fragile, vulnerable person who had quite a hectic private life. Constant harassment in recent months would not have helped her situation/mental health.

It’s disgusting the amount of ‘celebrities’ now coming out in support of CF and ‘grieving’ her death - where were these people over the past few months?

What’s worrying, is what was the tipping point here? The worry of an impending court case and what would potentially become public knowledge? The fear of CF celebrity status coming to an end - jobs, opportunities, showbiz circles etc? It just seems very odd that this happened on the day she found out the trial would go ahead.

So many people are sharing their condolences or even worse using the death of Caroline to talk about themselves, but none of them were supporting her publicly when she was going thought a difficult time apart from dawn o'porter. Who hasn't posted yet. It speaks volumes.

Social media is full of vultures ready to use a death, any death for their own gain.
She's been posting on twitter https://twitter.com/hotpatooties

Oh I know with the suicide thing but it’s the depression/BPD/anxiety people are throwing out I can’t see where it came from aside from her own actions with smashing the guy with a lamp while he slept x

Sure, but were there concerns before it all came out about the abuse?
I'd privately wondered before what with her car crash of a love life, her inability to be without a relationship, what seemed to be stories of mood swings and immense anger in her relationships, the constant drama, her reliance on alcohol and drugs, and now the stories in the past few weeks of self harm. I'd been thinking BPD for a while but I didn't want to Internet diagnose.
